We are a family from England and we spent two memorable weeks at Circus Circus. We had a fantastic time at this ultra child friendly hotel. I was warned by friends who had previously travelled to Vegas that Circus Circus had seen better days. And yes it has. But it offers the family on a budget excellent value and loads to do. Check-in was easy. The Adventuredome indoor theme park is good value, if somewhat lacking in the latest thrill rides. And the free to watch circus has a range of excellent acts to keep the kids (and mum and dad) happy. The buffet is also very good value and on a par with those which charge up to 50% more, including the Luxor.
Circus Circus is at the unfashionable end of the strip, but is very handy for the Stratosphere (the rides at the top of which are a must-do. Also recommended is Slots-A-Fun, a small and cosy casino which is right outside Circus Circus and which does good value happy hour drinks.
The room was spacious and clean. The only minor criticism was the bathroom, which was rather sscruffy.
The only problem we had was with a cleaner who shouted at my daughter in a foreign language in the rest room of the buffet. After complaining, we were offered a free ticket for the following night.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Circus Circus to all families who are looking to do Las Vegas on a budget. People without children on a budget should stay over the road at The Riviera.

OK. We booked this room before reading all of these bad reviews, which made us worry when we read them. However, it's a good thing we didn't read them first, or it may have deterred us from staying at this fine establishment.
I don't know if these folks are staying at a different Circus Circus, but the hotel I just came from was wonderful. To address many of the issues others have raised, I'll start with check-in.
Check-in: Yes, there was a sizeable line when we arrived, but having read the horror stories about checking in we decided to time the process. Time elapsed between stepping into line to heading to our room was less than ten minutes (something like 9:45 or so).
Employees: The desk workers were polite and efficient. We needed to store our bags after check-out because of a late departure, and the bell-desk was happy and very willing to help. No complaints about the employees.
The Room: Our room was in the west tower (cost us $3 more on Orbitz), and was completely adequate. Not spectacular, but absolutely worth $43 a night. The king size bed was comfortable; much nicer than some mattresses in $75 per night highway hotels. There were towels, cups, and mini toiletries. The shower head had kind of a weird spray pattern, but the water was hot and the tub was clean. Overall the room was great.
Kids: It's the circus. There were lots of kids. However, there were no unchecked gangs of kids running rampant through the hotel. In fact, we noticed few, if any, kids even running down the main hallways. No puke near our room. For the kid friendliest hotel on the strip, the kid situation was quite tolerable.
This was a very enjoyable stay, and we have nothing bad to say about Circus Circus. Great place, check it out for yourself before believing the hype.

THIS WAS OUT FIRST VISIT TO LAS VEGAS SO WE DID NOT KNOW ANY BETTER. WHEN WE MADE RESERVATIONS WE REQUESTED A ROOM WITH KING SIZE BED. AT CHECK IN THERE WAS NONE AVAILABLE. CHECK IN WAS SLOW; A VERY LONG AND CONVOLUTED WALK TO AND FROM OUR ROOM (INCLUDING A 2 ELEVATOR RIDE); WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OUR ROOM, THERE WERE NO TOWELS...HAD TO CALL HOUSEKEEPING; BED WAS CREAKY AND MATTRESS IS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT; INTERIOR DECORATIONS FROM RUGS TO CURTAINS - TACKY - UNLESS YOU'RE INTO CLOWNS AND THE LIKE; TOO MANY SCREAMING KIDS; IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF THERE WAS A FRIDGE IN THE ROOM - OTHERWISE IT WAS CLEAN; GET RID OF ALL THOSE GUYS/GALS PUSHING TIMESHARES, TOYS, AND OTHER JUNK/SERVICES...DETRACTS FROM THE AMBIANCE OF THE PLACE;TOO DARK - NEED MORE LIGHTS!!

Absolutely horrorific experience, and upon surviving the night there made a vow with my travel companion to never set foot in the establishment again. If I had to describe my personal hell, the Circus Circus would be it. The only reason it was chosen was to extend a Vegas vacation one extra night as cheaply as possible. The ten dollars saved would have been much better spent across the street at the Riviera. I do not recommend this for anyone except masochists or people with brat children.

Too many kids running around on the Casino Floor. Service at the Front Desk was terrible. Requested for adjoining room was told that we would get it when I checked in then when my family checked in we was told that it wasn't available. They didn't even offer to move us, poor customer service.

I answered all the questions asked favorably. The rooms were nice...we stayed in a tower, the service was good, even the buffet was good. We will never stay there again though...the time-share people were relentless, obnoxious, rude, and ruined our stay there completely. The hotel is large and to get from an entrance to our room we passed at least 3 booths of them...every day...every time we moved through the place they were jumping out at us. If we were in a hurry to catch a tour, or tired from a day out "Hi where are you from, how long are you staying". The time share they were selling was owned by Circus Circus and I felt very disappointed that I had paid to stay there...given them our gambling money, ate there a good bit of the time, and had to be subjected to that constantly. First time to Vegas, last time staying with them.

Whats with all the complaining about kids??? If you stay here, you will see kids - its a family place, one of the last ones left. If you looking for a place to stay for the 'low roller' and dont want to pay the 200+ a night the other hotels down the road charge, this is fine --- just dont stay in the manors. I stayed in the west tower, 35th floor - nice view, nice room, slept great, room made when I got back each day, no problems. I have stayed at the manors in the past and your better off paying the extra $10 a night. Only complaint I had is the elevators to get to the west tower is accessed by the front desk. If you walk in off the strip, you have to walk through the entire hotel to get there.
Food -- I took my chances. Its no smogasboard for breakfast, but has the basics. For $9, its worth it. Didnt get sick either so must have caught the cook on a good day.
5th time in past 11 years I have been here. Like staying at IP cause of the location but couldnt get in cause of VMAs, UNLV football, and all the other gatherings going on that weekend. This is my failsafe vegas hotel. Good price for the little amount of time spent in the room.

A dump, a toxic waste plant, or the gate way to hell. God forbid the staff to have any hygiene or any guest relations. It took us over two hours to check into our room while waiting in a lobby that looked like an illegal alien hideout. There was a puddle of puke that was just sitting there in the lobby which still remains there to this day. You could probabaly find more trash in the casino area on the floors then you would if you went to a dumpsite. The guest were entirely rude, the ones that could speak english anyways were. I wanted to leave the place right away, but my kids were crying because they wanted to go the the inside amusement park. I wanted to cry when I got in there. It was like a 3rd world country fair. Not only is this place the worst casino on the strip, it should be condemned. Our room wasn't any better. we stayed one night and left. God have mercy on any decent family that walks through the doors of the Circus Circus...

our room was booked before i read all the ratings and wondered if we had made a very bad mistake. no we hadn't it was great we got what we paid for a cheap room, very friendly service slots are a bit tight but a lot looser then other casinos. food was very good and not a bad deal when compared to other places, can't say enough about the staff especially at slots a fun we stayed there for 5 nights and what i ordered to drink the first time was remembered each and every time promo staff always remembered us and made our stay very enjoyable.
no this wasn't a 400.00 dollar room it was a 36.00 dollar room no complaints from us thanks and see you again soon

Can't understand the negative reports about this place. For the price I thought it was excellent. Decided to eat elsewhere due to the limited range of options but that's not a problem in Vegas as there are so many choices elsewhere. Room was large, clean and quiet. If you just need a well located, cheap base, this place can't be beaten.

NOTE: I put 8/06 because I was trying to note that I first came here in 8/96
I was 9 when I first visited Circus Circus, and this was before they built the West Tower, and before they renovated the place. We got a room in the Manor Section of the hotel (19.99 a night, too bad they dont do it anymore). The room was clean, decorated in nice colors. Ate Breakfast at the Circus Buffet the next day, delicious food, nice Circus theme. Overall, that time I had alot of fun doing everything that place offers to kids. Go figure, I work there now. The only thing I don't like about this place is the decorating scheme. They shouldn't have gotten rid of the Circus colors. But, Circus Circus is getting renovated again later this year in those pink and white colors, so it won't look so trashy as it does now.

This place is bad. Dirty and falling apart. The lobby and hallways were like a third world bus stop. I was surprised that there wasn't anyone selling live goats and chickens. They can't blow this place up fast enough for me. If you're on a budget, you're better off at the Riviera, Tropicana, Palace Station, etc.

One of my worst vacations ever!!!!!!!!!!! Where do I start..
Check was insane! There must have been atleast 50 kids running a muck. It took 2 1/2 hours to check in and there were only 10 people infront of me inline!!!!!! Little did I know that when I got my room key I was in for the worst time in my life. It was my husband, my kid and I. When we got up to our room, there was no carpet, no bed, no tv, no AC, and the toilet was missing! We went back down to the lobby and told them our problem. When we got done telling him about the room, the manager looked at us puzzled and asked us "Are you sure?" He told was that all rooms should be fully furnished. We told him our room number, and he goes "Oh... that one. Lets get you folks to a new one."
We got into a room and thank god it was okay.
We were there early that morning and had planned on going to the arcade for our child and also to Adventure Dome. I wanted to throw up in disgust after seeing the inside arcade. The carpet was sticky with coke stains! How gross! We weren't able to make it 100ft without getting asked by atleast 5 kids for money! I thought we were in downtown Mexico! We played a game where you throw the balls in the colored cups. My husband landed one in the large prize cup, but the "Carnie" exclaimed they were out of larges, and handed us 2 cheap mouses, thread was coming off and everything! So not being in there but 10 minutes, we made our way to "Adventure Dome."
This place was no different from the Crappy carnie land they called an arcade. We heard the roller coaster was supposedly fun. NOT! when we got inline the ride broke down twice within 5 minutes!!!!! When it was our turn to get in, my son wanted to sit with my husband and I would just sit behind them. The seat had a spilled drink in it!!!! I told one of the workers about it, and she told me to clean it myself or to catch a new ride! I snapped back and finally got them to clean it. As soon as the ride took off i heard the girl say bitch as i rolled by.. Suprisingly enough she wasnt there when the ride came back.
So thinking this day we could not get any worse... we go to the buffet. What is wrong with this hotel!! The person tried to charge my 6 year old son as an adult! The cashier didn't speak english, so it had to take getting a manager out there to fix it! The food wasn't great, nor was the service, we sate in the buffet for about an hour surrounded by atleast 5 tables that had dirty plates and trash on them. The whole time there they did not get cleaned. For that whole our we only got 2 refills. My husband resolved the problems by taking the cups to the drink dispenser himself! What a joke this place is!
Having a bad day already, we decided to take a nap. Bad Idea! Kids kept screaming up and down our hallway, and at one point it sounded as if one had thrown up. I was right, when we came out of the room an 2 hours later... there was a dried up pile of puke 15ft away from our door!!!!!! Yuck! We called the front desk and told them about it, and they said it would be taken care of. After spending sometime downtown and going out to dinner, we came back about 9 that night... the puke was still there and it smelled so bad!!!!!
We had a decent night of sleep and we were going to go to the rio for breakfast. we figured one of the cleaning ladies would see the throw up and clean it up as they came by. WRONG again! we came back around 5pm, the puke.. still there, and our room was clean, except the tv was on the spanish channel, and there were no towels in our bathroom, along with the trash from the previous day. How can a place be this bad!!! I have stayed here once when I was a kid and it was the best place ever! What happened!? I only give this rating a trophy because it is the biggest S#&@ Hole I have ever experienced!

I realize that it is one of the less expensive places to stay, but that doesn't mean it can't be a better hotel. The pool is a pain to get to. The employees barely speak english. The elevator was slow or broken. An employee of the Krispy Kream shop just about yelled at another patron while I was in line. Lines at the buffet. Not enough tables open late at night or early in the morning. One blackjack dealer stood for at least an hour at a 25 dollar min. table, There was at least 4 or 5 player looking for a 5 or 10 dollar table, because the lower tables were already at max players. Lines at the Pink Pony at night because it was the only place open. We checked out early and stayed at the Loxor for $30.00 more dollars a night. What an improvement for 30 bucks.

Great casino especially the slot area with the 98.5% pay out... won some $$$
Stayed in the Manor Rooms... which was VERY bad... very far from the casino, smelly, not worth the $$$ spent for the rooms... granted we went during Cinco de Mayo and Fight weekend but still would NOT sleep here again... haven't tried rooms in the Main Tower which might have been better...

I brought my 15 year old son for his first visit to Vegas. We arrived on a Monday and left on a Thursday. The check in line was short. He had a great time but felt most of the rides at the Adventure Dome were "For little kids" but the arcade was cool.I took him to the Sahara, NYNY, and the Sratosphere for the WOW rides. I was surprised how nice the room was. We stayed in the West Tower. Ask for a room away from the elevators. We had a view of the strip. Parking is not a problem. The staff were very pleasant. The food was decent with lots of varities for places to eat. I won at the casino twice. There are lots of families with kids everywhere in the main areas but it was very quiet in the halls by our room.If you pay by credit card you can do video check-out from your room. We will stay again.

Nothing personal really, but i wasnt a big fan of Circus Circus... Checking in was slow even with reservations, the room was good, but had people knocking all times of the night drunk. The Casino itself didnt have very good or interesting games at least to my liking and the location was quite dirty. The grounds was pretty foul... I mean it could use a good spray down at least to clean up the pigeons and other garbage leaking around. Other than that the Amusement park was good and i did have fun in some areas of this hotel... But i wouldnt want to stay again.

My husband and I were very worried when we saw other peoples comments but we very surprised when we arrived. This being our first trip to Vegas we were unsure of what to expect. The room was very clean and the service was exceptional. We had one problem with the maid servicing our room when the d.d. sign was clearly up but the front desk was extremely apologetic and gave us a two free buffet visits for anytime. If you need a basic cheap clean room on the strip I would highly recommend Circus Circus. Also the casino always had seats at the cheap tables unlike the more high end casinos and we both came out as winners. I found that the other comments I read seem to expect the Wynn or the Venetian even though they were not willing to pay for it. My husband and I would highly recommend circus circus if you are on a budget and want the most bang for your buck.

Myself and my husband visited from England for the 2nd time in six months (we loved it so much we had to come back again)and stayed at Circus Circus (previously stayed at the Hilton) We found Circus Circus to be excellent value, nice clean, good size rooms, we would love to stay at the more expensive hotels, but then would have less money to gamble!!! We would defintely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonable price room in Vegas. - Good rooms, reasonable food, good casino, good all round. Also ideal for starting at one end of strip and having a good long walk all the way up to the other end. Brilliant I LOVE VEGAS ************

Got kids? stay here, otherwise I would suggest you go somewhere else. Kids galore, but with $50 rooms, the 5 acre amusement park and circus acts where else to take your family.

Stayed here from June 5th through the 9th. Checkout line was loooonnnng - took 45 minutes to make it to the front of the line. The room was basic, but nice and clean -- fine for what I needed. I did O.K. in the casino. The buffet was nothing special, but it was alright. Because of all the kids running around (they don't belong in Vegas!), I did most of my gambling and eating elsewhere on the strip (I rented a car), and just came back to C.C. late at night to sleep.
There are many hotels in Vegas that are nicer than this place. But for the price I paid, this one got the job done. If I don't get any deals from the other places, I would stay here again.

Was staying in Vegas for a little over a week, had an Offer for two nights free, and $50 in cash, so stayed a couple nights here and other places, like we always do. Check in was a breeze, when staying on an offer, you use the VIP check in, not the long line. Check out-- Video from the room,--drop the keys in the box in the lobby, yer done, no waiting in line. This place has an abundance of teens, children, toddlers, and a whole battalion of strollers, which makes the main walkways very crowded, avoid them where possible, cut thru the machines, the pit,and hug the walls like an employee, makes it easyer to get around.
The rooms are fine(who complains about free?) I go to Vegas to Gamble, not hang out in the room. As long as its clean, dark when I need it to be, and quiet when I want to sleep, I am happy. No coffee in the rooms,so if you gotta have it like I do , take you own. They do have a Krispie Kreems Doughtnuts in the main hall, but I need my coffee before I go roaming around.Room service for just coffee is SLOW AND VERY CO$TLY. I like the Main Tower, the elevator lets you off in the middle of the place, you can miss the long walk down from the lobby, and alot of crowd.
The slot club is very good, I always have an open offer for a free room, and many different promotions are mailed out ie. 2nights free and $50 in cash, as well as comp dollars good for free food, or merchandise, and cash back, so I dont pay for food while there. Its the ONE CLUB,good at any Mandalay Bay property. CIRCUS CIRCUS,SLOTS OF FUN, LUXOR, EXCALIBUR, MANDALAY BAY, in Vegas , and places outside of vegas.
My wife, she plays slots, loves Circus Circus, and feels lucky there,so we always play there when in vegas. I prefer their little place next door,Slots of Fun. I always do well there (play for along time,on very little money) I shoot craps, and play video poker, and have left there ahead more than once.
I really like The Steakhouse, and the Blue Iguna is good. This end of the strip is starting to show its age,but I like to play all over town.

After reading some of the comments on this site about Circus Circus, we approached our stay with some apprehension. Upon walking up to the registration desk, I politely asked the folks if they would upgrade our room for our 4 night stay, and they did so to an Executive Room in the Main Tower. The room was much bigger than we expected, immaculately clean and my wife is very fussy about this, and the mattress was the most comfortable sleeping mattress that we have had in a hotel/motel situation. All of the services including the dining we had in the Pink Pony restaurant and the breakfast place across from the theme park was excellent and affordably priced. We took advantage of the free gambling classes on routlette, craps, and blackjack and enjoyed the casino floor. We did appreciate the family atmosphere of the hotel because as we walked the main strip, we were innundated with hawkers passing out pornagraphic materials and people who were trying to sell ticket packages. This did not occur on our last visit 5 years ago. One more thing,....my wife and I renewed our wedding vows in the Circus Chappel which was very nice, inexpensive, and well done, including pictures and bouquet. My wife and I, both, recommend Circus and feel that we had a great value for little resources and would return again should the opportunity present itself.

Me & my friends stayed at this hotel on May 19, 2005. Check-in was long, but to be expected at any Vegas hotel. Est. Time 20 min. The front desk clerk was extremely nice & gave us a free upgrade to a room with a view. After staying here before in a Manor Room and regretting every moment of it, we decided to try a Skyrise Tower room this time. The Skyrise room was definitely a step up from the manor rooms. The room was clean, everything looked newer & the a/c worked excellent.
My only complaint with the room is that there is no iron and ironing board and you have to pay $12/night for a refrigerator, when even the manor rooms come standard with them.
You can request an iron from housekeeping, however the people in housekeeping are extremely rude and very slow. It took 1 hr and 45 minutes to get an iron up to the room, to which I was told that I can use it for 1 hour and I have to give it back. I was very suprised that there was a time limit on the irons, since there wasn't the last time I stayed in 2003.
The elevators going to the skyrise tower can be a little confusing. Some only go to floors 1-18 and some go all the way up, so make sure you read all of the signs. Tons of kids on the weekend. Go on the week days, it is a lot better.

Went for a two night stay, checked in around 11pm Wednesday night so there was no line. We got a tower room, it was clean, quiet and we liked the decor. Beds were reasonably comfortable and the view was amazing, we saw part of the strip and downtown! The toilet flush was VERY powerful, prepare for that - it can be shocking.
The casino was pretty standard, although the circus acts going on above you is unusual. We ate at the buffet and the Pink Pony, both good experiences. The Pony's "Graveyard Special" is recommended! As for the buffet, we ate an early breakfast (9am) so there was no line to get in. Food was great, especially the crepes! Very good price in both places.
There were kids, yes, but not the mass hordes we were led to expect from other reviews. This was a great value for the $ we paid and we would definately stay here again!

I had booked a vacation with America West Vacations and for the price plus the airline tickets you could no beat it. Circus Circus was perfect for what are family needed for the price and the atmosphere (family). Also are plans weren't to spend alot of time in the room so we didn't need anything fancy. Well we arrived there on Sunday (12am) and we checked in at the lobby. The lobby was very nice but it was no 300 million dollar set up but checkin seemed to be easy. It took ten minutes at the most before we made are way up to the room. The only thing about the lobby is that it was to dark, there was very little light in their and for a circus atmosphere they could have brightened it up. We started to head up to are room which was located in the Skyrise Tower. Now I called ahead to make sure we would stay in one of the towers after hearing the Manor rooms were one step up from a run down trailer park. I SUGGEST TO EVERYONE THAT IS STAYING AT CIRCUS CIRCUS TO REQUEST A TOWER ROOM. Now to get to the Skyrise Tower we had to pass through the Promenade which turned out to be nicer than I imagined. It was clean looked new and very well maintained. We passed the Adventuredome which was closed since it was 1am but it looked really nice. We arrived in the Skyrise Casino which is were the elevators are located to get to the rooms. The Skyrise Casino was nice but it seemed like it was much older and they put the older slot machines in there. It was also very spaced out. VERY SMOKEY BUT WHAT CASINO IN VEGAS ISN'T. Once we got to the elevators we headed up to the room. The elevators were really nice and were not as bad as described. They were all clean, maintained, and were decorated. We were staying on the 24th floor in room #24745. We got out of the elevators and walked down to the room and another tip is to get a room located far from the elevators because it is much quieter and there is no traffic passing bye. We got in the room and were very impressed. It was spotless and well maintained. No stains on the carpet, the beds were comfortable, electronics were new and the bathroom had no down sides such as backing up sinks or dirty tubs. The only things I had to say about the room that were not great were the tv was older and was small but worked fine and the safe you had to pay for (50 cents a use). The view was directly located towards the Stratosphere and the Sahara which are two amazing hotels to look at during night. The hallways getting to the room were clean but could have been vacuumed maybe once and the room and the hallways were decorated very nice. Wallpaper, pictures, and clean carpet were all in the room and the hallway. We stayed in the room until the following Saturday and everyday it was cleaned to like it was the first day we arrived and we never had any problems with it. The A/C worked great even though it must have been 20 years old. Overall the room was great and for the money you couldn't beat it. I would stay in those rooms anyday. Circus Circus's property was nice but you could tell that it was older. The pool was nice, the parking garage was safe, and the sidewalks were walkable, but the Monorail could have been re-done. Now the Casino at Circus Circus did have an intresting crowd but did not have screaming kids running around in it. The casino was probably the smokiest one in Vegas but it did have cheap gaming. The Midway was older and it was alright along with the arcade. The Circus Acts were really good but the seating was a joke because there was just benches that held about 50 people and there was no standing room. The Casino area under the big top was hard to describe but it was kept clean. The one thing I won't forget about the place is the walking. It was a 15 minute walk from the Skyrise Tower to the front door to the Casino. Overall Circus Circus was great but it was no Bellagio. It was affordable and friendly. Circus Circus is a great place to stay at if you are on your first trip to Vegas, a budget, or on college spring break. Circus Circus is not as bad as every body says it is and it makes a great Vegas Vacation!

I spent three nights at Circus Circus. While the rooms were adequate they have not been updated in at least 10 years. The mattress was marginally OK. and the TV and A/C worked. The Interior of the hotel, and in particular the Sky Tower casino and public areas were very worn and shabby. The A/C in parts of the Casino and the hotel hall ways was not always working. If this is the case now, in the summer it must be dreadful. Signage directing guests was minimal and often confusing. Most hotel & casino employees seemed very disinterested in guests or their needs. The midway area was also old and dingy and in general reminencent of an old carny opperation at a traveling circus. At time it was down right uncomfortable feeling. The table games were OK and the stakes on the weekend were as low as $5. It was generally neither a pleasent or inviting stay. One positive note was the Pink Pony Resturant. Although the service was lacking, the Prime Rib dinner special for $9.95 was very good and the deserts (in particular the strawberry short cake and the Chocolate milk shakes) were very good values.

Room check in had a long line but staff did a good job of moving the line along. We got a Skyrise Tower room, top floor, with a really great view. Room was nice and clean. Elevators worked well except for one, but there were a lot of elevators. Parking garage always had a spot close to the room elevators so loading/unloading the car was easy. The walk to the strip was a hike from the room but it's a big place. Did ok in the casino. Adventuredome was neat. Pink Pony had a real good steak deal, had to wait in line awhile but not too long. Girls at the hot dog stand were real friendly - dogs were good too. Kids loved the place; if you get stuck with taking the kids this is the best place in Vegas. The kids all won mucho stuffed animals in the arcade and the people there were friendly as well. The only negative thing was that due to it's location you really don't want to walk around that end of the strip at night. I prefer to visit Vegas without the kids but I will stay at Circus-Circus again and would absolutely recommend it if you have the kids in tow. I have a acute sense of smell and did not notice any unpleasant odors except the smoke in the casino.

Well, I saved $200 by having my family stay at Circus for 3 day hotel/air package instead of the Paris. $200 would have bought me a room that didn't smell like a sewer (raw sewage smell from the bathroom in one room), windows would lock properly, hallways that didn't smell like a barn/mens locker room (take your pick) and most of all a happier time with my family in Vegas. It is a real pity when you feel like you need to check if all your shots are up to date before you enter the place. Decor was peeling paint, cracked and missing caulking (nice touch to try to caulk the sink with red duct tape!), stained carpets, dirty, rusted, soiled everything. This is a property that they have made a business decision to not invest anything in upkeep and to milk it as long as they can. You cannot walk 2 feet in the place without finding something broken, marred, dirty, unsightly or otherwise unsatisfactory. Maybe, like the FEW winners they rig in the casino, they also have a FEW model rooms that they show on the internet (I fell for the photo and live tour room - filmed 20 years ago?) and provide to the FEW lucky people who they assign a good room to - see positive comments posted below. Our rooms were both disgusting - one just smelled like it looked. (The Circus 'Manor' Bldg B, Rooms 2036 and 2038)
This was my first stay in Vegas ever. My family and I enjoyed Vegas but we absolutely did not enjoy Circus. We will be telling all of our friends, family, business associated, etc. that it is a property to avoid for health and safety reasons if nothing else.
By the way, my wife left her cellphone charger in the room. We called that night to see if housekeeping had turned it in. We were told 'no'. Could they check with housekeeping? "If they found it, it would have been turned in" Well, could they check anyway? "No way to contact them, if it shows up we will call you". It's been 3 days - no calls. Why should they care?

This was the fiflthy place I have seen in Las Vegas and this includes downtown. It starts with parking garage. Trash was everywhere. Elevator looked like like it belonged in the projects. Inside going to Casino was dirty. I noticed dusty places all over. Went by Krispy Creme counter and found napkins piled all over and general area a complete mess. The whole experience was bad. We left and decided to never go back. I have been in nearly every casino\hotel in Las Vegas and this has to be the worst.

Although family friendly, I wouldn't want my children going through such a filthy hotel - I guess I expected jugglers and clowns and other circus interaction around the lobbys, etc for the children. It wasn't as bright and cheerful as I thought I circus hotel should be.
The buffet obviously had their food out for a while during lunch hours... I had food poisoning from the breakfast at Pink Pony.

My husband, mother and sister stayed at this hotel in 2004. I was there to attend a convention with several other people so the hotel was pre-booked for us. I would never pick this hotel to stay in again. The rooms weren't all that bad but they did smell a bit, smoker room. The view was ok but not much to look at besides the bungy jumpers. Room service wasn't that great at all but they did tidy up every day.
The restaurant wasn't bad but there was a wait. The servers were none to friendly but for the price it was ok. The check in was awful and took us forever to get to our rooms. The employees at this casino are the worse we have ever seen. I can't believe the black jack dealers, rude, ugly, hateful and the worst attitude I have ever incountered. I tried to be nice to these dealers but they were like pitbulls, not one nice word from any of them. I find it hard to believe anyone would keep these people employed because they run off players quickly.
If you don't like kids this is sure not the place for you. Kids run around in the casino anywhere they like, including around the slot machines. They drove me nuts and I was never so glad to leave a casino in all my life.
The circus act would have been ok but I noticed some of the costumes were stained and torn, one to the point you could almost see the privates of the girl performing.
My husband did ok in this casino, better than at Harrah's were we stayed this year and I played the penny slots for awhile without breaking me. I went next door to Westward Ho? and did really well there on the slots. Probably just got lucky on the right machines but was sure glad I went there. One of the employees at Westard Ho did try to rip me off about 35 dollars though and I couldn't believe this. She was an Asian and tried to pretend she didnt understand english, but didn't have a problem when I demanded to see the tape that recorded the machine I was playing. I had won some money and the machine messed up, she had to pay me out and took the money and didnt return. I found her on the floor and ask about the money she took and she tried to deny taking it, luckily my husband was sitting right beside me when this happened. I tried telling someoen higher up but apparently this kind of stuff does go on, at least at this casino.
If I had to stay at Circus Circus I would never visit Las Vegas again, the overall expereince was awful.

We asked for extra pillows and they said only 2 allowed. There wasn't a decent restaurant near adventuredome so that we can get lunch while the kids played. This place is far from the strip.. The buffet was terrible, and the check in line was outrageous. Next time pay the extra money and stay somewhere decent.

I've stayed in this hotel twice. Yes it's designed for kids in mind and I had one in tow (teenager). I essentially choose this hotel because of the video games available for kids. On my first visit the room had no view except for the back of a billboard. The lights were really bright but thank goodness the curtain was thick! The second visit, I requested a non-smoking room and didn't get it. The front desk said to check them the next day for a non-smoking room but didn't bother because the room odor was minimal. Can't beat the price for an average room and will probably upgrade the next time. The one thing that they could improve is the check-in. Can only take so much with kids crying and kids misbehaving while waiting to check-in.

I have read the comments made by the people who visited Circus Circus in the last couple of years. What were they expecting Bellagio rooms, restaurants, and decor at the price they paid for a room????? First of all who spends a lot of time in their rooms except to sleep so what if the decor isn't all that fancy.
My husband surprised me with a trip (our first)to vegas seven years ago for our 25th wedding anniversary. He talked to friends who have been out there and they told him you can spend the money on a room and meals or you can go cheaper and have more money to gamble with. He chose to spend the money on gambling. When he told me we were staying at Circus Circus I thought it sounded like a kids place and there were going to be kids running all over the place and what fun will that be. Well we were there for five tooo short days...and had a blast. We were not bothered by kids running all over the place. Sure they were in some of the areas like the hallway to the restaurants and the adverdome but they were not a problem in the casino or the rooms. They were not running around the halls and making noise while we slept nor did we have trouble will them being underfoot when we walked around.
We have been back 8 times since then and plan on being there in 3 weeks. And we wouldn't stay anywhere else... They comp our rooms and our meals they even let us keep a little of our money once in a while...but best of all they are always pleasant, helpful and friendly to us..whether it is at check in or out, at the restaurants, or in the casino... The food at Circus Circus is also very good. The buffet is typical buffet food what you find at most buffets. Don't like it the Pink Pony is a reasonable and tasty place to go. Looking for a little more fancy Stivali is wonderful for Italian food. The best restaurant there is the Steakhouse. It's more than the Pink Pony pricey but worth every penny for a excellent steak, super service and relaxing atmosphere.
We have not had maintenance problems other than a leaky tub faucet once and the handle on the Jacuzzi fell off one time. We reported it and it was fixed right away by a pleasant man who apologized for our inconvenience. When we asked for extra pillows we received them within a few minutes..I take my own travel iron so I never had to ask for one. Our room was always clean and tidy when we returned to it. I just don't know where these people stayed at that they had such problems. We love Circus Circus and will keep returning whenever we go to Vegas

I knew going in that there would be lots of kids -- and there were. No big surprise. It was amusing to watch the families having fun and Circus Circus offers much creativity regarding amusements for families with children.
The Pink Pony Restaurant had great food and service. Price was decent. Great burger! Experienced server. Lots of smiles from hostess, server and a nice "thank you for coming" when we paid our bill. No complaints.
We had a great dinner at The Buffet. Steamship round of beef was excellent and the desserts were beyond our expectations. Loved the enchiladas! Good job of keeping our table cleared. $9.99 for dinner is a bargain!
Our room was plenty big and clean. Did not feel cramped. Housekeepers were friendly and professional. Beds comfortable. Decent selection of cable channels. Despite all the families and kids, the room was quiet.
Check-in and check-out were a breeze.
The casinos were also more than acceptable. Busy but not overly crowded. Drink service was appropriate and slot machine winnings were attainable. Lots of security personel...not sure if that's good or bad, but with families and lots of kids, I guess it's good. It's always nice to have a Krispy Kreme nearby.
With The Riviera right across the street, Slots of Fun right next door and the Stratosphere a few blocks north, the location is underrated.
I would recommend Circus Circus. I liked it!

My husband and I arrived around 1 in the afternoon on a sunday. While the check out line was scary, we only had to wait a short bit to check into our room. We were offered a sky tower, which turned out to be pretty nice. Quite large enough with a HUGE bathroom, very clean, the only downside was that we should have brought our own pillows. The houskeeping staff was friendly and ready to leave extra pillows, though. The fire alarm went off at 3 one morning, that kinda sucked because once Im awake, Im awake for the day. At 4 I went in search of coffee and OJ then decided to play some slots to let Hubby sleep. I sat down and an extreamly intoxicated man said if I won to give him some of the money and he would protect me. I swear I barly whispered "security" and they were taking him away. I wish the beauty parlor was in an easier spot to find, but that was the only real time I was lost. Room Service coffee was excelent even at the price, it would be nice if the coffee shop in the adventure dome area opened sooner, but the bartender at the Blue Aguana is happy to serve you coffee (and he was watching Iron Chef......all the better). With the tram, getting from the tower to the front entrance is as easy as pie. Cannot wait to see Vegas again!

I visited in Aug 03 and got stuck in a smoking room....what a stench....there was also some kind of noise like an air conditioner or a train running 24/7...very annoying...but I never could identify the noise. The room was very spacious and clean enough. The carpets and decorating in the hotel are a bit old and dirty but not horrible. I visited again in May 04. This time we got a non-smoking room and it was fine. Again a spacious, clean room. There are many kids there, but it is a family oriented hotel. Many parents do not take their children into consideration....why do you have a 2 yr old running around at midnight??? Put them to bed!! Weekends and holidays are certainly busier with kids. The casino area is dark and dingy but this is an older hotel and you get what you pay for. The trip to the pool was quite a hike but it seemed clean and nice...remember, the pools in Vegas are not open all the time...most are seasonal. I'm not sure I would stay in a manor room. Overall I would say that this place is ok. The food isn't great....but it's not that bad either. We're planning another trip this spring, this time with the kids. We are considering Circus Circus...but we're also looking around.

My girlfriend and I decided to go the Vegas at the last minute, and we could find absolutely no place to stay. . . except Circus Circus. I figured it was better than nothing. It was THERE.
I'd heard a million horror stories, about the kids, the rooms, etc. We stayed in the tower the closest to Las Vegas Blvd. The room was fine, and the casino was right at the bottom of the elevator. Maybe the other rooms aren't as nice. But ours was fine. Quiet. Clean. We barely saw anybody going to and from the room.
While Circus Circus is kind of a walk from everything else, I was winning quite nicely right there, and next door at Slots A Fun; about a two-second walk. Whatever they lack in drink service in Circus Circus, they make up for it at Slots A Fun. They'll bring you a beer even if you're not half done with your last one. My kind of place. I had better luck at both those places than virtually anywhere else.
Yeah, there's kids. And yeah, you see them running around the casino. It's kind of inevitable. You can't get out the front door without walking through the casino. For the most part they stayed on the little walkways. Up in the actual Circus area, they were even kind of amusing, I thought. Only a kid could understand my joy at winning a three inch stuffed bird on my second sandbag throw.
The steakhouse is a bit pricey, but they certainly aren't skimpy with the meat. It was very good. Top notch. Great service. We had not one, but two guys waiting on our table. I was full halfway through the next day.
The service was OK. We didn't have to wait in lines for much. The biggest line was trying to get coffee at Krispy Kreme in the morning.
If I do have a beef, it's the slow waitresses. I don't think it's asking much when you're throwing down $20 every five minutes to get a cold one to help ease the pain.
I'd stay there again in a pinch.

Checkin was a nightmare. We rolled in at around 10pm and finally got to the front of the line at around 1am only to be told that there was no electricity in the main tower and they didn't have a room for us. So, we got sent down to the Sub-Sahara and got put up in a shabby room (however, I leave the Sahara Casino with $125 extra won on a nickel poker machine). Next day, went back to CC to be told no rooms available. Not a good enough answeer and they miraculously found us a room in the main tower closest to the strip.
The room wasn't bad, it was clean, nice bathroom and on TV they had this cheesy clown channel that the kids liked.
The pool was OK, but the monorail to it was closed, so it was a long walk with the kids, in bathing suits, through the Casino areas. It was tough to find since there were no signs.
We ate at the buffet one morning, not much selection and the food wasn't that good.
Because of the problems with the first night, they were nice enough to pickup my first two nights there and reduce the last night, though getting them to do that was like pulling teeth.
Everybody should go to the small deli and have the $1.50 strawberry shortcake, there's enough there to feed 4 people.

Stayed during Nascar weekend. Our bathroom sink kept backfilling with some toxic green, stinky water. Called housekeeping and after a Looooong wait the maintenance bozo showed up. He just stood in the doorway and wouldnt enter after I had to just about pull his arm to the sink to show him and then he tells me he already fixed it and he wasnt going to again! I have stayed at CC before but should get my head examined for coming back. Never again will I set foot in this cesspool.

Just returned today from Circus Circus with our almost 9 year old twins (Feb. 29, 2004). We were there from Sunday night to Friday and it was WONDERFUL!!! After reading some reviews on this site I was nervous about dirty rooms and unsupervised, unruly children/teens running amok....it coudn't have been further from the truth! Granted our school vacation week is different from most of the country and we were not there on a weekend. The Sky Tower room was big and clean. We were only on the 3rd floor so we had no view, but, what the heck, we were so worn out most days we were alseep by 8:30 pm!! The circus acts were great and constantly changing..the arcade was a blast..bring LOTS of quarters...the Adventuredome was pretty good, but I'm glad we had the $4 off coupons as there weren't that many rides my son liked...too scary or too babyish for a lot of them...he's at that "in between" age I guess. Didn't eat at the buffet after reading all the comments...didn't want to chance it and it didn't smell very good near there, either! However, Stivali's was excellent and kids eat free with coupon from booklet at check-in. Had a good breakfast buffet at the Riv, but no $$ break for kids ($8.99 each). If you have a car, Terrible's (out by Hard Rock Cafe) dinner buffet is great and 1/2 price for kids(and if you're a teacher there's also a 2-for-1 coupon on your NEA Access card). It is definately worth the drive out to see Red Rock Canyon and Bonnie Springs, Nevada..a recreation of an old western town complete with skits done by the "cowboys"....best family entertainment we had for only $7 a carload!!

I have stayed at Circus Circus many times and was always pleased with my stay but this was a couple of years back. This last visit was a real suprise. The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room but the bed smelled like an ashtray. The mattress wouldn't meet the standards of a skid row hotel. The water never would get hot to take a bath or shower. I would not stay there again.

Checked in 0n the 27th of January for two nights, easy checkin elevators are confusing since they have one for the 22nd to 30th floors and one for the floors beneth that, stayed in room 18825 had to send people out of elevator trying to go to the 28th floor a few times. Room was clean but bathroom was huge you could put another bed in it, I guess it is for handicap usage since there was metal bars all over, typical tub shower combo, and one small sink, why is all this room wasted? Did most of my eating at the Rivera across the street, so I can not comment on the food, gambling was OK a few jackpots. The in room check out was quick and easy, some kids running around nothing too bad had a great view of the west of Las Vegas from my room: note get rooms above 18th floor or you will be looking at the Adventure dome or air conditioners, could hear sirens all night, and Las Vegas drivers do not stop at red lights or stop signs so be careful walking or driving around town. Parking garage elevators would not work half the time so had to use stairs some times, bad graffetti problem on the outside of hotel they need to correct that all in all a good stay.

This was a perfect hotel to stay at with children. My husband and I had a blast with your 13 year old daughter. The Midway and rides were lots of fun - we were in Las Vegas 6 months ago and stayed at another hotel -- Circus Circus was much more fun for our daughter. I had read so much about the food at Circus Circus so we were hesitant to eat there but were tired and decided to try the buffet -- the food was delicious --
