The Suncoast is a bit of a hybrid between a local's spot but situated in beautiful, expensive Sumerlin. The rates offered were excellent. The check-in was slow, but the room was huge and overlooked the golf course, which was a nice plus. The room service is skimpy and is not offered 24 hours. Like most local's casinos, they offer movie theaters, bowling and cheap eats. There is a TGI Fridays in the casino, and the food and drink are what you would expect from this establishment.



The casino is big but smokey due to people still lighting up. The craps dealers--for the most part--are horrible. They need annunciation lessons! You barely know if you rolled a winner based on their inaudible voices. There was one outstanding, experienced craps dealer, but the minority of pathetic ones spoiled it for the rest.



The video poker machines were tight, unless you were playing anything less than dollars. That's my opinion. Usually it's the other way around--the higher denominations win more frequently.



Essentially, this place is nice to stay a few nights if you weren't expecting too much.

First visit to somewhere so far from the strip as we usually stay at the Orleans,room and view perfect as was housekeeping, liked the in room fridge and safe this is a nice touch and something the Orleans should copy, slots way better than Orleans and Gold Coast either that or we were just very lucky, Tried all the in house food places with the steak house upstairs really good as was the Italian, buffet again after reading previous bad reports we found it also better than the Orleans, we do not drive when in Las Vegas but the shuttle to and back from the strip is perfect also free airport shuttle. Being a non smoker i did not find this casino as bad as previous comments suggest, all in all a great place and would stay again.

I wouldn't really be too hard on this hotel/casino it's a good bargain during the week. The rooms are nice which was a major plus. I don't gamble and I was on business so this place worked out well.



Yes, it's about a 1/2 hour from the Strip but if you've been to Vegas as many times as I have, then you really don't have a desire to stay on the Strip or downtown. And I must admit opening your curtains first thing in the morning to get a view of the surrounding mountains is refreshing.



There are 3 golf courses within a couple miles of the hotel with 1 right next door. So if you're a golfer, I'm sure you'll like the proximity of the place to the courses. The coupon book they give you has some discounts for the golf courses. The only minus would be the pool. I had a room that overlooked the pool area and it was indeed small; I would say it is slightly bigger than something you would put in your backyard.

Suncoast is a great place to stay! My wife loves the pool area (she likes laying out by the pool during the day) I like the casino, and we both like the eating choices. The movie theatre is a plus - if there is something playing we like then we usually go to a movie when we stay there. I am an ex-smoker, and I didn't think the air quality in the casino was a problem at all. Probably it has been improved since others felt it was bad. We ate at Primo's for our 33rd anniversary. Great steak - one of the best I had eaten in quite a while (they had a porterhouse and schrimp scampi special which I had.) Connie had the ribs cooked osso buco style and really liked that. They gave us a huge piece of chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and whipped cream for free when we mentioned this was our anniversary dinner. Would definitely eat there again. We will definitely be back again.

While this is excellent in many respects, it just stinks period. The smoke is enough to kill anyone. No matter which door you enter from the first thing you notice its the stink of smoke. Just minutes inside will cause you to smell like an astray. It's a shame because the employees are friendly, slots are favorible (nice slot club), restaurants are superb from the buffet to the fine Via Venito (a favorite of ours), rooms are top notch as well as the service. If it weren't for the smoke we'd come back along with many of our friends who feel the same way. What a shame they don't realize the business they are losing because of the extra liberal smoking.



If you're a non smoker this is the last place to go. I have to think that the management will realize that they have a great place if only for the smoke. I dream that some day non smokers will be treated well at this place. I miss going to it.

Nice casino. Would like some of the machines to pay with coins. Don't visit this casino much since my Nextel phone does not get much coverage there.

I stayed at the Suncoast for the first time this past week and enjoyed my stay very much. The rooms are very spacious and were clean. The service throughout the hotel and casino was very good and the staff was quite friendly. There are also movies and a bowling alley so you don't have to gamble every minute if you don't want to. The buffet and the cafe also had very good food at reasonable prices. I would also recommend this place for families. The only drawback is the location; it is about 25 min. away from the Strip. There are shuttles however to the Strip and also the airport. My only negative comment is that there are bright decorative lights on the front of the hotel which shine into the floor-to-ceiling windows and destroy the view at night until they are turned off around midnight or 1 a.m.

I have stayed at many Vegas hotels. All of which cost more than the Suncoast. I had to write and say that the service was among the best I've seen anywhere.
