Oh, it is painful to write this review. We just returned from a 4 night visit at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. We have ALWAYS stayed at this resort ever since it opened and have always been thrilled with the rooms, the level of service, etc. This time? Not so much! We were traveling with friends who had never been to Vegas, so we were thrilled to introduce them to THEhotel. They were impressed....their suite was as we had always found the suites----fabulous. Ours? Less than impressive. For whatever reason, we were placed in a handicapped suite. We missed out on the luxurious bathtub and bath experience. A sad tub and an even sadder shower where one could roll in a wheelchair. We were okay with this. BUT.....our room was NOT CLEANED. We had been gone for the most part during the day.....and most of the evening as we had a show to attend. We returned at midnight to an unattended room. After complaining, we were comped for that day. Then, the next day. the room was cleaned MOST promptly. It was obvicous that staff had been alerted. We returned to our suite and while the room was clean, NO TOWELS had been put in. My husband found some housekeeping staff in the hall and told them we had no towels. They were very quick to get towels to him. If you are staying at THEhotel, quetion the rooms that are the '01' on the floor. I don't know if they're all handicapped, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to refuse the rooms ending in 01 immediately.We are not sure if we will go back to THEhotel which is sad.....we loved that resort.
