- Good Visit This was our second visit since Dec 05. You could tell the staff was felling a bit melancholy over the impending closure. We had a suite this time, comped. It was very roomy but the furniture and carpeting was obviously old and worn. The bathroom was fantastic though. There was a jacuzzi tub and a huge shower with a sitting area.
William B's restaurant is still the best. Tony Roma's has gone downhill - there was obvious apathy in the server.
The Island Paradise cafe was wonderful, as usual. Have a Stardust omelette before it's too late!
They have removed alot of older machines which were winners for me on our last trip. It's sad to see this old girl coming to an end. Get there if you can before it's too late!

- Good Visit I didn't realize this property was closing in less than a month. When we arrived our cab driver mentioned this on the way from the airport. But we got a super deal. I thought, "Now I know why it was so cheap. It's a lame duck hotel." Well, I was instantly worried. I needn't have been. This was our fourth trip to Vegas, but our first to the Stardust. We found that--even though it was not new--everything was clean and tidy. The service was good and the staff friendly. We were there for 5 nights and left feeling sad that it was closing. We would definitely go back (but I guess that will not be possible).

- Good Visit The Stardust exceeded my expectations. After learning it is scheduled to be taken down I was just heart-sick. What a wonderful place this is. The service was very good, the rooms very clean and comfy. It is a classic older hotel with all the anemities in a way that you just don't see in the newer hotels, and with no crowds. I imagine that is why its coming down, no theme, just good old-fashioned standard Vegas entertainment with a personal touch. The clientel is mixed-bag across the board. Pool area is nice but smallish, good friendly service. Cost of everything such as cocktails at about a third the price of the fancy resorts. It is a crying shame that this place is going to be demolished to make way for another expensive resort, as it has everything but the catchy theme. This hotel has been well maintained.
The only complaint I had was that the room we had was supposedly non-smoking but it smelled of smoke and some cigarette butts were found way under the bed. Probably not the hotel's fault but rather some inconsiderate guest.

My wife and I made a special trip down to the Stardust just because it was closing down. What a disappointment!!!! No one was in the casino and every slot we played was allergic to paying out. I guess all the cocktail servers were already let go because we never saw one and we were there almost an hour. Goodbye Stardust, you will not be missed by this couple.

- Good Visit This was an enjoyable visit. Pool staff was excellent - they got your lounge, put it where you wanted it and put towells on it. Only at buffet for breakfast, but it was great, good assortment. Too bad they are tearing this down. Only bad thing was the walk to get to the major part of the strip.

Learning that the Stardust was on the way out I had to stay there. This was my 19th time to Vegas and wish I had stayed there before. I'm not a fancy kinda guy and really liked it's simplicity and value. Good room, good food, nice pool and a great staff. It is what it is with all these trendy, upscale mega resorts replacing older casinos but I wish there were more places in Vegas like this one.

- Good Visit When we learned that the Stardust was on the endangered casino list, we took them up on one of their offers for two free nights and $25 in cash. We had a dated but clean and comfortable room in the West Tower and while the casino was smokey and crowded (National Finals Rodeo time), service was actually very good and convenient. My only gripe was with cocktail service- if I'm firing up $5 a hand on video poker, it would be nice to see a waitress more than once an hour.
The Stardust is past her prime and has less than a year of existance left however traces of her former glory and still evident.

- Bad Visit I was offered a complementary room and free entry into a Vidio Poker Tournament. When I went to check out and used the comps that I earned druing my stay to pay for my meals, I found out that they took the comps to pay for my room. When I complained about this because I was offered a free room for three nights, I was told that that's the way the Stardust opperates and there was nothing I could do. This is very low class. I have been offered free rooms at many casinos on the strip and have never had this happened to me.
Also, the hallway leading to my room was a garbage pit. In the three days that we stayed there, the hallways were never vacumed or cleaned in any way. There was food and food stains left in the hallway for three days.

- Good Visit Hey there all of you,
We went out to Stardust again for our 1 year Anniversary. This is the only place we stay. As always the service was great. We only stay in the West Tower Suites. You play, they comp, plain and simple! You just have to know who and when to ask. It never hurts to ask! Been playing all night, ask for a breakfast comp...etc. We are heading back out in October. If you go get a slot card and use it! You will get more offers in the mail than you know what to do with. We use ours as mush as we can. Give it a shot - Stardust is still a great place to visit that offers you the Old School, retro vibe. You are treated well here - I am in my mid 30's and my freinds are in their twenties so we have a helluva time here. Go elsewhere if you want to just be another #.
See ya soon,
DEB :)

While the place is not as fancy as the newer casinos it was clean and consumer friendly. We would stay here again.

Of all the old school properties on the strip, the Stardust is the best. The staff is friendly and conversational. The drink service in the Casion is great. The slots are playfull and the whole place is well maintained. I'm sure they will blow it up soon, but I hope they somehow keep the old school flavor with whatever replaces it.
The newer mega resorts are fun to visit, but their empolyees are ruder, their slots are tighter, their food is overpriced and they're much to big (not easy to navigate)
I will continue staying at the Stardust before durring and after the renovation, as long as they don't ruin it.

- Bad Visit After making our way through the smut pushers and bums we entered the building. We were there to eat and gamble (11 or so at night). After finally beiing seated we ordered from a man who didn't understand English too well. We had to wait 40 minutes for a bad meal and nobody came to refill drinks or to see how things were. Attemping to pay by Visa we were told by the cashier that their system was down and she'd have to call the approval in.. it was obvious that we were putting her out. So as we waited by the used toothpick littered counter my legs were bit up by some type of bug. Casino was ok.. nothing special. Tight slots, not enough craps tables open, bad food, long wait, bugs, attitude, smut pushers, and bums (on property) made this visit piss poor.

I didnt stay here on this visit but I gambled here and I saw george carlin.lots of slots to choose from, however they didnt have my husbands favorite - Star Wars... service was really good for drinks while gambling... even at the nickel slots!!! Carlin was a little disappointing, and I like Carlin, but he needed to read from cheat sheets (he had some issues recently that he is working out) as he has not yet been able to memorize his new act.

This was my first time visiting this hotel, and I won a lot of money on the slots (beginner's luck?) Drink service was very good -- I had cocktail waitresses bringing me Cokes almost with regularity. I'm not sure I would stay here, since the hotel seems to draw an older crowd. But I will gamble here again.

- Good Visit Let me first begin by telling you that there were originally three people that were supposed to go on this vacation. Unfortunately one had a death in the family the friday we were supposed to leave. So he called to cancel his flight and they ended up cancelling all of them. So the airline fixed us up at the airport and we called the hotel to make sure we still had a room since it was a package deal. they assured us we still had a room. well when we got there they had it in our computer that we had cancelled. apparently you cant cancel just one trip but they didnt tell us that. but the hotel was extremly helpful. they told the travel line that all they needed was confirmation that we had paid and they would give us a room. so they faxed it over and we got our room. they even threw in two free buffets for our trouble. we were original supposed to be in the west tower. but they ended up being booked so we had to go to the east tower. its like a motel 6. but from all the bad stuff ive read about the east tower i expected a dump. it was nice tho. it was clean, the bed were comfortable, and we had a huge tub. i dont know where everyone else is staying but this place was alright. and the staff was very friendly. i would definitely stay there again. nikki st louis mo

- Bad Visit This place is a dump. I can't wait for them to shut down. They are already on Vegas deathwatch...This hotel is for all the trailer trash that are trying to live it up.. I will celebrate the day this place implodes...The casino is sooo smoky and worn down. Everybody in there was either drinkin a pabst blue ribbon and wearing trucker hats or had an oxegyn tank strapped onto them..The onoly plus about this hotel is Wayne Newton. I hope he can get out of there and move down the strip to a really nice place. He deserves better!

- Good Visit We stayed in a West Tower room, nice & clean & close to the elevators. Table games and dealers were great. Quick drink service in table area, and pretty good around the slots (compared to non-existent on the south strip). WOF slots were pretty good, and saw lots of $1 Blazing 7 hits (none for me). Location is good, with Peppermill, 7-11, and Walgreens right across the street. We'll stay here again.

We have been stayed at 4 other hotels/casinos on the strip, but our first stay here was based upon an outstanding rate. Knowing we were in an "older" hotel, we were pleasantly surprised! Room was adequate size - good view north up strip to Strat - wonderful bathroom. Everything clean and neat, but would like more towels! (however, we didn't ask for more either). Casino does not have good VP, but slots were OK. We made more money here and at surrounding (older, smaller than theme) casinos than any of our other trips. In fact - air, room, food, gambling all paid for plus extra to take home. Wish they had more low level BJ tables, because we are beginners and do not want to lose too much while learning. We are going back again in May at another terrific rate - comps and offers much better here than in mid-strip.

- Bad Visit THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME IN VEGAS AND WE WERE BASCIALLY LOOKING FOR A GOOD DEAL AND DECIDED TO STAY AT THE STARDUST.. tHIS IS AN OLD SCHOOL HOTEL BUT GOOD LOCATION. BUT THERE IS A LOT OF NEGATIVITY ABOUT THIS PLACE. FIRST WHEN I BOOKED THIS HOTEL I SAID I NEEDED A NON SMOKING ROOM WITH A KING BED.. WELL WHEN I CHECKED IN I RECEIVED A VERY VERY SMOKEY ROOM WITH TWO BEDS.. I WAS ALREADY NOT IMPRESSED BY THE INSIDE DECOR AND THEN RECIEVED THE WORST ROOM I COULD POSSIBLEY ASK FOR.. SO WHEN I CONFRONTED THE FRONT DESK I WAS RUDLEY TOLD SORRY WE DO NOT GUARANTEE A NON SMOKING ROOM .. WELL DUE TO AN ALLERGY I DEMANDED A DIFFERENT ROOM SO WE HAD TO WAIT IN LINE FOR 30-TO AN HOUR TO TALK TO THE MANAGER THAT FINALLY GAVE US A NON SMOKING ROOM BUT IT STILL HAD TWO BEDS IN IT.. WELL OH WELL.. WE MOVED ON BUT NOT HAPPY. THEN THE MAIDS AWAKE YOU EARLY EARLY IN THE MORING.. COME ON ITS VEGAS WHO GETS UP AT 0900 AM AND THEY NOT ONLY WALKED IN ONCE BUT TWO OR THREE MORE TIMES EVERY DAY!!!!! WELL ALL IN ALL I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS AVAILABLE. I LEARNED MY LESSON... NOT RETURNING BACK EVER!

- Good Visit Wow! Knew right away that it was going to be a good stay when we walked up to the registration desk. Checking us in the lady immediately said, "You don't want that room, let me upgrade you to a better one"! Never asked for it, they offered! Went up to our room and at first did not think anything was special, until we noticed the doorway to the second room! Complete dining room, living room and bar! HOLY COW!! I can not say enough about the service in this hotel. They bent over backwards to make us happy. Even when our teenage son fell asleep with the deadbolt locked and we banged and banged on the door they had a security officer up within 2 minutes to open the door (hey, you try waking up a 15 year old by knocking on a door!)
Of course you have to expect this is not a brand new hotel so there were the typical age issues and the other thing that wasn't great was the wait for your meal at the cafe. Both times we ordered dinner there we waited a long time. But the food was good. Room service was amazing, should have had that instead of going to the cafe actually. They made it feel like you were eating in a fancy restaurant instead of just a hotel room. Table cloths, fancy plates, GREAT food, etc.
Overall I would definately stay there again. I love the location, not right in the middle of everything but close enough to get around easily. AAA+++

- Good Visit We stayed here in July 2004. We knew we would be using it primarily as a place to sleep and keep our luggage while we went out and did other things. We had a decent non-smoking room with a king sized bed. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. The casino sprawls across the length of the property and has a good variety of games to help you part with your cash. We ate at only two of the restaurants - Tony Roma's is a fine, safe bet, while the Island Paradise cafe is nothing special and overpriced. Some people complain about the North Strip location, but we walked everywhere so we didn't mind. Overall, it was good value for the money we paid. I would stay here again.

- Good Visit This was my first time in Vegas and I chose the Stardust for it's low prices. The hotel was nice and I had an excellent view of the strip. It was beautiful at night. I was on the 23rd floor, but I can't imagine staying on the other side and being forced to look at the Circus Circus or being in one of those low-rise tower rooms! The maid service was great. The hotel seemed clean. The casino did not impress me much as the older fat women hogged slot machines when there was clearly people waiting for them! The cocktail waitresses were nice enough, but I could never find them. When I ordered drinks at the bar, I paid $6.00 for the same small watered down drinks. Do these people in Vegas know how to pour a shot? It is a four count, not a one or two! Tony Roma's was not the best food I ate in Vegas and the nachos at 4am were kind of yucky. I never tried the buffet, although I named my new fish, Coco Palms after it. All in all, it was a pleasant stay, but I think that I would stay at a comperably priced place closer to the action such as Imperial Palace.

- Good Visit I was very pleased with our room here. Spacious, clean and newly renovated it seemed. Better than I expected. The property in general seemed to be in good shape.
Only gambling I did here really was play poker, and there was always action to be had in the cardroom. Nice bad beat jackpot available.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if the situation was right. Probably wouldn't stay here during warmer months, as the pool area looked unimpressive.

- Good Visit I have to say that I was somewhat surprised with my stay at the Stardust. I have stayed at nearly every casino on the 'new' strip (except for Barbary Coast and Tropicana) and I was expecting a less than glamorous experience. While true it does not match the excitement or amenities that you will find at the likes of the Mirage, Bellagio, and even NYNY-type hotels.... I did the Stardust a good value. It definitely is the best hotel of the four it is grouped around by far (Ho, Circus and Riveria). My room was plain but clean. The casino and sports book was easy to navigate and was equipped with all the games that are popular. The buffet was average but low priced too.
All in all, the stay was a good one and changed my opinion of the property in regards to cleanliness, value, etc. While I don't think I would stay there again for personal travel (was there for business), I can't knock it too much either.
