Visited on 11/1 for one night. Room was clean and well appointed, but NOISY. First hotel I've stayed in where I could hear people above me! If you are staying on the top floor, I'm sure it's fine. The casino is fantastic as are the restaurants.

Great hotel. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Room was very comfortable and clean. Heard nothing from other rooms or outside noise and we were right by the elevators too. Buffet was delicious. Cocktail delivery was quick and drinks were tasty. Great casino. If you have a car the location is not an issue.

We stayed at the Siverton with a one night free, second night $39 comp. Check in was early afternoon and quick, less than 5 min. Registration clerk was friendly and very helpful with questions on how to get to a destination where we were to meet friends later.
The room wasn't large but comfortable, clean and quiet. We only had breakfast at the restraunt, but service was quick both in taking our orders and in delivering the food. It was mid week, so there wasn't a large crowd, may be different on a busy weekend.
Not a large selection of the type slots we like to play, but did enjoy ourselves. First morning on our wat to breakfast stoped tp play the Mega Bucks machine, second spin hit $1350, had hoped for the $10,000,000. Hand pay wait wasn't too long as it is in many casino's we've been in, approx 5 to 10 min.
We no longer have small children, but it wasn't evident there was much to keep kids occupied except the pool.

As A person who has been in the restuarant buisness 28 yrs,the silverton by far has the WORST service ive ever seen. The drink girls never have a smile ,are never friendly ,and it takes sometimes 1 or 2 hrs to get a drink there. I will also write a letter to a supervisor, letting them know how dissapointed myself and my wife are.Ive been to the silverton many times and it seems that the service gets worse and worse.I cant tell you how mad we both are.

My wife and I have a vacation home in Henderson, NV so we haven't stayed in the Silverton Hotel. But, we do love this casino. The overall ambience is very comfortable and the decor is absolutely stunning. Really top-notch ! The Mermaid bar is an example. WOW ! What a visually beautiful place. Overall, the quality of the decor is superb....take a close look at the choice of materials and the design. I believe playing in a nice setting is half the fun.
The gaming itself is about normal but we had a ball playing the MONEY ROLL games along the wall. Lots of action as long as you play the full coin amount of 25 lines x 3 coins per line = 75 coins ( pennies). If you don't play 3 coins per line you pay for it later when you get the MONEY ROLL bonus and you don't get the multiplier benefit.
Oh, another nice thing at Silverton is the great food at the cafe restaurant ( not sure of the name) TRY THE ROAST TURKEY FEAST - SUPERB ....the real thing with all the fixins.

Hope you enjoy the Silverton - we do.

Casino only visit in June, 2006. It was clean, but kind of boring. Not much energy and a bad selectin of slots. I wouldn't travel out there again just for the casino.

This hotel is great. The rooms are small, but clean. The mattresses are pillow tops and the best I have slept on in Las Vegas. The casino is small, but is very nice. If I wanted to stay in a large hotel, i would stay on the strip. The employees are friendly. The only downside to the Silverton, they issue the rooms as a first come first serve policy. Get there as early as you can.

I got comped the suite so can't really comment on the value as I don't know what the rack rate is. The suite was spacious but unexceptional, no frilly soaps or all that, they cater to the NASCAR/trailer park crowd (there's an attached RV park & now a nearby BASS PRO shops store). There's a faint rustic/western theme. The Shady Park lounge is a kitschy new addition. The buffet really blows but the coffee shop is great, very good service and tasty food, a good value (this was comped too but based on the advertised specials & menu prices, you get more than what you pay for). Fair selection of good VP games, low table limits ($5 blackjack & craps). A smallish casino. No real entertainment to speak of. Bland & nondescript pool. Biggest drawback - 8 miles from strip (there is a shuttle at least, for hotel guests). A bad choice for tourists unless they have a rental car. There's a tiny a Leroy's Sports Book with a few chairs plopped in front where you can watch a couple games on 13" TVs they have if you can see that far. Overall, a fairly boring place to stay & play, I'd think twice if I had to pay. I guess the biggest asset is the coffee shop and the casino has an intimate or homesy feel that the staff might actually remember you. The rooms are quiet but no view since so far away from strip . . . you might catch the huge light from the Luxor if your room faces north but that's about it.

I am a local Las Vegan and my wife and decided to stay at the Silverton on mini vaction. The room rates were cheap ($69 per night on a weekend) and we knew the rooms were recently remodeled so we figured now was a good time to take advantage of the opportunity.

The rooms were very nicely done... comfortable and fashionable. The casino was still being remodeled in some areas but easy to manuever around. The machines were extremely tight but they need to pay for all the remodeling somehow, right? The cafe' was extremely nice... decent food at reasonable prices. Service was alright.

A couple of neat things to check out... giant fish tank with mermaids, a HUGE boat lot which was fun to tour. The Silverton is not on the strip and is very light on the shows and entertainment so its not really a place to stay for a long period unless you're traveling in your RV.

Getting into the casino was a major pain with RV's and Big Rigs hoging the already crowded roads since it is a major truck stop. Parking and road access was the only major poorly planned feature of this casino.

Overall, a nice visit and would most likely do it again.

We have stayed here several times over the past couple of years. We have an absolutely awesome host - rooms & food always comped! Rooms are clean, completely remodeled, comfy beds, great housekeepers, cafe is great, steakhouse is awesome! Love to sit at the bar & play video poker - bartenders are friendly. Overall - entire staff is awesome.......Only recommendation I would have - if checking out late in evening, front desk can never get you a final bill. Will continue to stay here as long as our host is here!!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Silverton Hotel and Casino and in fact just returned home. The rooms were great (the beds were hard and there was not much water pressure, but what hotel/casino really has everything right?).

The staff were all very friendly and we actually didn't do half bad with gambling.

We ate at the Twin Creeks Restaurant, which was amazing and had excellent service.

I would recommend this casino to others.

The Silverton used to be an acceptable alternative to the phony opulence Las Vegas Boulevard. It's employee-owned game plan exuded a respect toward the working class, which sustained them. That's all gone now. Some moron decided to give the place an "upscale makeover." Now they call themselves a "Lodge." Needless to say, that means the room rates are more expensive. Their quest for "affluent" suckers also required the elimination of "discounts." One of the first comps to go was the "Super Senior" card, which gave people over 55 a 50-cent reduction at the buffet. Talk about cheapskates! That's been replaced with references to "Pimp My Ride," which supposedly turns young people on. The old 24-hour coffeehouse, where you could get delicious, reasonably-priced country-style grub, is also gone -- replaced with tasteless, overpriced garbage disguised as yuppie nourishment. I could go on, but what's the point? The Silverton is now just another moneysucking extension of the make-believe luxury of The Strip.

One month in advance I booked, and paid for in full, two non-smoking rooms. We stayed there because we were visiting family and this hotel is the closest to their home. Upon arrival approx. 9:15 PM, I was told there were no non-smoking rooms left. When I tried to explain to the idiot clerk that I had paid for, not merely reserved, two non-smoking rooms and that those rooms were mine even if I decided not to ever arrive. He gave me some rhetoric about it being hotel policy to give the rooms to the first to arrive. Does that mean they overbooked or gave my rooms to a walk-in? The rooms should have been left vacant waiting for me since they had nothing to lose. There were towels for only two in our room, even though the room was reserved for three. It took hours to get another set of towels. One of the rooms always smelled like fried food. The same clerk told us the jacuzzi was open until midnight. After just getting into it about 9:45 PM, a security guard told us we needed to get out because it closed at 10:00 PM. It took two hands to pull the shower diverter and even then half the water came out of the bathtub faucet. The tub didn't drain so you were standing in dirty water up to your ankles. The toilets had water constantly running through them even though there are signs all over town about water conservation.

Checked in on a Friday afternoon. It took the desk clerk very nearly 25 minutes to get me checked in because she "had other things to do just then". OK, so she was a little busy, but then if she was that busy, she should have had help.
The dinner meal I had was a little on the cold side of things and didn't really have any flavor. It was supposed to be a seafood special. The following morning the tub drain was clogged and filled with water while I tried to shower.
When I checked out, the desk clerk said she didn't have the authority to adjust the bill but could offer me a free coffee cup.
I was very disappointed with the service in general and with the hotel overall. This was the first and last time I will ever stay in an off strip hotel.

My stay at Silverton was a very pleasant surprise. The check in took only a short amount of time. I had a rental car so the location wasn't a problem to me. The parking area was a little cramped as they are going through an expansion, but there was enough room for all guests. The quality of the rooms was amazing. Nearly everything looked brand new. I'm not sure what you'd call the theme of the rooms--maybe "Modern Western"--but it was cool. I took pictures of the TV stand and drawers so I could make one just like it. It might have been a bit large for the size TV in it, but I'm not in Vegas to watch too much TV. I'm looking forward to another trip to Vegas this fall and the friendly folks at the Silverton will surely see me.

We stayed two nights the 21th and 22th of April. The hotel has remodelled al of their rooms. The bed is really high and sleeps super. The rooms are clean and have also a nice decor. The only thing is that they tease you with this large TV armoire, but when you open it, you see , what has to be the smallest TV in History. They told us they also are going to replace al the TV`s with new ones when they hook-up the Pay per View system in June.
The casino is also redone and they are building a new addition to their hotel and casino. This hotel will not dissapoint you, the value is excellent.
