This was our first visit to Las Vegas and it was great! Our room in the tower was very nice and updated! The bed very comfortable and the room had two places to set up a laptop for late at night relaxing. Our request for a coffemaker and extra towels was not a problem. Checkin and checkout was fast and easy. Everyone was nice and very friendly. We took advantage of the free shuttle to and from the airport and also the free shuttle to and from the strip. Even the shuttle drivers were friendly. We like the different choices of restaurants at the hotel. We ate at the buffet 3 times, Grand Cafe two times late at night, and at Cabo's once. All were great! Our only complaint was at the buffet the morning we had breatfast. Not very good service but the place was very very busy so was expected. If you like Mexican you have to try out Cabo's. It was absolutley wonderful!! Fast service, Friendly, and the food was delicious!! We has the steak fajitas and it was more than we could eat. If we ever get to make another trip to Vegas we will definitely stay here again!

The updated Tower Room was great: In room safe, Big LCD TV, lamps with electric outlets.

I have always liked the casino with better paytables for Game King Video machines. Good rewards for players.

They still have a shuttle to the strip not just to a sister property I believe.

Check in & check out was quick and easy. Desk staff helpful & friendly. Resistration desk in easy proximity to rooms. Rooms were functional and clean. Good price on rooms. Staff provided asked for extras in a very timely manner. Pools were very clean and easy access. Bring your own food & drinks allowed at pool(but no glass). Quick access to parking garage. Food good at cafe. Good price and large portions. Buffet good too. Good variety. Pasta Palace was excellent and a good value. Casino was average, staff was friendly. Sports book staff was friendly. Overall...a very good stay. Not as fancy as the big resorts, but very functional, clean, and a great value. You should have a car to stay here. If you do, it the location has easy access to I-15 and the roads you will need to use to navigate around the heavily congested Strip.

Stayed in the Courtyard rooms. It was BAD. The room smelled like mold and mildew. The smell was so bad we had to request to be moved the next night. The carpet was damp and the bedding smelled also. The wooden closet smelled so bad when opened I almost gaged. The move to the tower rooms cost me $50.00 a night. Due to the fact that I booked the room thru hotels.com the desk told me I had to make my complaits to them about the extra charges. I did call hotels.com and I was refunded some of my stay.

If you like a casino and are planning to stay their it might be worth your time to go to the casino website to book your room.

The tower rooms are very nice! The casino is fine and the food was good at the places we eat. Room service was quick and the food was still hot. The people were kind and polite. Outside of the courtyard room the place is nice. We don't plan on returning

The comp system is different. My wife played slots for 8 hours a day for 3 days. When she went to cash out her points she had very little in comps or value. I will see what we get for offers in the mail. I was not impressed.

We fly from the UK every year for our annual two week holiday in Las Vegas and so far have stayed at the Palace Station for the last three consecutive years. We love the location as it easy to get Downtown or to the Strip (courtesy of the Shuttle provided by the Palace Station).

We have always requested a courtyard room because we like the easy access to the pool which is always really clean and warm or we can just walk along the hallway to the casino which is a really good size with plenty of table games and over 2000 slots! Although we are not high rollers we do frequent the high limit room when staying at PS although quite small it has a nice variety of slots. We love the food at PS especially the Buffet, Broiler and Palace Cafe.

All the staff from front desk, house keeping, cocktail waitresses, eating establishments and floor walkers are friendly and helpful and even though we have only stayed three times some of the staff remember our names!

If you want good value for money, clean rooms and a great experience then you should stay at Palace Station.

We can't wait to go back Sept 07.

We visited Palace Station for our first viist there in January. Our rooms were comped, but we received

the Courtyard Rooms instead of the Tower rooms we had been offered via phone. Rooms were clean

but very small. We could tell they had been refurbished, and they did include a large television, but let

me repeat - they were very small. They were non smoking rooms so that was good, but the beds were

not the most comfortable. However, their housekeeping staff was friendly and did a great job.

Palace Station is now 30 years old, and they have done a great job of remodeling most if not all of the

hotel and casino. It was nice to have use of the airport and strip shuttle. The food at all of the dining

establishments was reasonably priced and tasted good to us. However, my husband and I felt like the

casino always had an undertone of smoke in the air. We are very sensitive to smoke and just felk like

the air handlers maybe didn't clear the air as well as in some of the newer hotels. We would probably

not stay there again for that reason alone.

We also didn't seem to win much in the casino, may have just been an unlucky visit but we did have

better luck and other casinos we visited on the trip.

My wife and I visit Las Vegas frequently but this was our first time staying at Palace Station. Since our rooms were comped, obviously the property ranks high in the value department with us. However, we were also very impressed with the overall look and feel of the property. The room (in the Tower)was comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and courteous, from the valet drivers to the front desk and all of the others in the casino and restaurants. Everyone was really friendly and they made us feel very welcome. The buffet was closed for remodeling which was somewhat of a disappointment but that just means that our next visit will be even better because we'll have the newly remodeled buffet to enjoy as well. Good job Palace Station !!!! We'll definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for the 8th time in the past two years during the Thanksgiving weekend. The Tower rooms are nice, not very large, but clean and comfortable. The Grand Cafe is all you could ask for in a 224 hr cafe. Excellent food, nice size portions, friendly staff! The buffet was being renovated and was temporarily relocated to the Mexican restaurant site. (Will review new buffet after next trip in February).

Casino is large and feature 11 baccarat tables and 18 Pai Gow tables! Plenty of low minimum BJ, three roulette tables, as well as 3 card poker. A nice 10 table non-smoking poker room, a nice keno parlor with free donuts every morning, a 600 seat bingo hall, and over 2000 slot and video poker machines. The sportsbook/racebook even has a Subway restaurant inside!

This is a place that caters to the locals....but you'll feel very welcome right from your first time here.

Cocktail service is excellent.

And you can't beat the room prices.

Also, several nights a week the legendary Earl Turner puts on a great show. Worth every penny!

To head to the strip. take the free shuttle. It leaves every hour.

Another thing is the liberal comp policies here, as well as the great Player's Club. Honestly, I am quite a "low roller" yet my room is always comped as well as my meals. If they do it for me.....they probably will for everyone!

I checked in for a Courtyard room on Sep. 04 and checked out on Sep. 05,

because I wanted a place while passing through town. And I was impressed with

the recent remodeling of 2-4 months ago; and I'm rarely impressed in a good

way. Instead of listing all of what I liked (everything new, working, good

quality, and well thought out), I'll mention what was not very good. The bed

pillows were only okay, maybe it's just a personal preference; but I also think

that all hotel rooms should have different types of pillows on the bed to

accommodate different preferences. There is no coffee maker for making hot

drinks; the front desk informed me that it was a fire hazard, so one is not

included the Courtyard rooms. I'm thinking the fire insurance is cheaper for

them this way, which makes it a little cheaper for us. And the television

channels weren't very good. The outside pool looked good, and the water was

very warm (101 degrees the day before). My room door card also let me in the

exercise room, which was a decent size room. I was able to find myself around

(buffet, restroom, Courtyard building) with the help of a map that was given to

me at check-in. It was easy going from parking area to room. I booked the

room in February through Travelocity, for a grand total of $40, and that

included the $5 for the shuttle service to and from the strip.

The dinner buffet was only okay, but a good $8 price.

I satyed at this hotel for a meeting. First, I must say that the service for our meeting rooms and meal functions was outstanding. The staff were ever present and ready to do anything needed to make sure our event was successful. My room was nothing outstanding, but it was clean and neat, and everything in the room worked. My room was always cleaned early in the day, something of a rarity these days. I noticed several rooms with "do not disturb" on the doors (probably late nite people) and these appeared to be honored. The shuttle to the airport and the strip was a nice bonus. It saved me mucho dollars in cab fares. The drivers were polite and helpful too. I ate at the Feast Buffet 3 times (breakfast, and twice for lunch)-- good, standard food and an excellent price. I ate at the Broiler once, and I felt it was overpriced. My stay overall was excellent, but I do have one MAJOR complaint. All the public areas REEKED of smoke, even areas that were supposed to be non-smoking. The smoke drifted upstairs to our meeting areas. I came home with a miserably sore throat. I will say that my room did not smell of smoke-- it was a non-smoking floor, but the rest of the place had a stink. If I knew that I were not going to spend much time on the property, I would stay there again.

This is the 2nd time we stayed here & the 2nd time was better than the first. The room was cool & comfortable. The TV had a good selection of channels. We don't gamble but if you do, the casino is huge. The food was excellent eccept for the buffet. Worst we've ever eaten. Stick with the Grand cafe instead of the buffet. The cafe was out of this world. We ate there 5 times in 4 days. Huge portions of food at a great price, friendly staff, & the tastiest home fried potatoes we've ever had. Mexican , Italian, & Steakhouse all had great food as well. Front desk was friendly & fast. Shuttle to airport & strip was cool & driver was friendly. Will definetely stay here again.

I guess I received what I paid for ($29) when I stayed at the Palace Station. My room was a courtyard room with a joining door to combine the rooms for a large party. My room was at the east end facing the parking garage so the noise was not too bad. What was bad was the baby next door.

The people staying next door came in at 10:00 pm and then the baby would cry all night. The next day after walking the entire strip, I went to the front desk to explain what happened the previous night. The lady said they could move me to another room in the courtyard (me moving my belongings) and I asked if there was door connecting all rooms and she said yes. I asked for a tower room and was denied. That night the baby did the same thing. I called security but they did nothing and the people in the room did nothing to quiet the baby. They wouldn’t even take the baby out of the room area. A total lack of consideration. Needless to say, I did not get any sleep and was upset the next day.

Palace station’s buffet was mediocre. Not good but not bad. The steak house had very good steaks with great service. The seafood bar was also very good. The café was ok and the bakery items were very good. The Irish Pub was a joke. No comedy while I was there.

If you do not have a car, this is not the place to stay. You cannot walk over the overpasses because there are no sidewalks so you have to have your own vehicle (rental), ride their shuttle buss (only hourly and not 24 hours), ride the city busses or take a cab. A cab ride from Las Vegas Blvd at Sahara to PS was with tip, $8. PS’s location is very inconvenient.

Palace Stations front desk people and for the most part, very unfriendly and rude. I will not stay there again as the last time I spent the extra money and stayed on the strip.

To say this place is good or bad depends upon what you are looking for in a Vegas hotel. If you want high energy and lots of action then this place sucks. Its a tomb at night with nothing in the way of entertainment. It would be nice if they could at least have a pub with karaoke or something. Nothing.

But it is a relatively cheap place to stay and the rooms are decent. If you have a rental car and are on a budget then this is probably a good place to stay. Just plan on doing all your social activities somewhere else.

Once again, had a newly refurbished Courtyard room. One should note that these rooms are well done, clean, nice, good bed, etc. There is no tub, but the shower is completely adequate and I like the completely tiled bathrooms. I've stayed in the Courtyard rooms at least once per year, usually twice or more per year, since 2000 and PS Courtyard is my first choice in Vegas rooms....the Courtyard is very convenient for getting in/out, good location away from strip noise, and predictably clean, nice and comfortable.

There weren't any major problems during my stay. However nothing here stands out to be "good". Everything here is simply generic. There's one pretty elevator with glass walls for a view. Our room was on the 18th floor and faced downtown. We had a great mountain view (which was a nice change from the strip). Our room was very clean, but simple. The casino was popping, but we never saw a waitress taking drink orders during our entire 6 night stay. The buffet was good. The cafe was a little better. The pool was clean & warm (80 deg. f.) even though it's outdoors. I worked out in the gym one day and the treadmills & steppers were in good condition, but not the eliptical machine or either of the bicylces. We did see a few "paid" visitors entering & leaving but I imagine those are everywhere. Our cleaning staff was pleasant & did a good job. They're the only service people we ever saw. It's an OK place for your $, but don't expect much for it.

I read the other rating for this hotel first. The good ratings were from years ago this place is the worst we ever stayed at. It is an overpriced dump. We were robbed twice. The first night I had a vintage gold and burgundy beaded jacket. Stolen off of my chair in the casino. I am heart sick over this it was a gift from my mother and can not be replaced!!! So called security at Palace station is a joke. The next night our room was robbed my husbands wallet and cell phone were taken. He was asleep in the bed when it happened. God forbid had he woke up he may have been hurt or killed. The staff was rude. Over all nightmare stay at the Palace Station. We have family in Vegas and many frinds who come to Vegas. You can bet no one we know will ever go there. Evidently the so called "LOCALS" are more important than geusts. Maybe they should rent rooms by the hour.

When you book through a travel agent, you give them your requests. We requested a smoking room. When we arrived we were told we had to have a courtyard room and they were non smoking. That was ok...but when I arrived home i checked their room rates during a 4 day period Sunday - Thur in another month, and found the rates in the tower and the courtyard were the SAME!! So for them to tell us we can upgrade for another $20 a night was a crock. I also was insulted by the $4.95 daily fee for all those "freebies". But the kicker was the "$200 coupon BOOK". This BOOK was a sheet of paper when a few useless coupons on it...Sure if you assume you will go to THAT particular show it will help. Buy a half a sub and get one free...wow...can get those anyplace! And it was for the use of the "free shuttle?" This was already quoted before we got there..so the shuttle was free anyway. And it included local calls..assuming of course that you made any??? The casino waitresses were so slow that we waited for over 45 minutes to get a drink once...and it wasn't even busy! I have stayed here before and was so impressed that we picked it again as my son got married there and thought Palace Station was such a nice place. I had called ahead and asked if we could buy flowers in the hotel..I was told YES. When we got there..nowhere sold flowers. I was also told they could upgrade to the honeymoon suite for the night at no cost as it was a courtesy as long as they showed they had gotten married. When we arrived, they checked it out and were told no, it wasn't a courtesy..it cost another $100 for the night and they had to check out of the room they were in!! So all in all..the staff is so confused they don't know what they are telling people. I doubt I would stay there again...I had one excellent experience and this time it wasn't so great. I just wasn't impressed with the service as I was the last time.

For the money that we paid to stay here, I thought it was a pretty decent value. We were a little dissappointed at checkin. The last time that I had checked their website, the remodeling of the Courtyard rooms was supposed to be complete, but we were told that the room we were getting wasn't. We could have gotten a remodeled nonsmoking room , but thought how bad could it be? We were also informed that we could upgrade to a tower room for $20 a night. (As far as remodeling goes, I didn't see any going on). I don't know that the smell in the courtyard rooms was from smoke, kind of hard to describe, but we did upgrade to a tower room that night with no problem, and it was a nice room for the price. There was an incident where my wife and I had to laugh, but also we were a little put off by the couple's ignorance. We were leaving our courtyard room, and this couple had just checked in, they asked one of the maids working where the h*ll the elevator was, when they were told there was no elevator, they got upset and took it out on her, using something like, "You got be f****** kidding me. Very inappropriate, not her fault. We both enjoyed the place, the free shuttle to and from the airport was nice, and the shuttle to the strip was also good, used it many times. The food was good, and most of the employees were very helpful. Had no problem getting cocktails, and the casino was pretty good too. Didn't make money, but found some poker machines that kept us going for a couple hours at a time. All in all, I would stay here again, but considering Sam's Town for next visit. We have never stayed at the same place twice in about a dozen visits, so that doens't mean much I guess.

One thing I would like to mention is that when using one of the Sam's Town shuttles, we were informed that they have a new policy going in effect on 10/17/05, that in order to use their shuttles, you have to be a guest at one of Boyd's properties and that they were going to enforce the policy. From talking to the bus driver, it is because they were having too many problems with some passengers, and the term "locals" was brought up, so maybe this won't affect "visitors". Didn't get back to Sam's Town to ask, maybe someone else who visits can clarify this. We had a nice visit at Palace Station.

We always stay at Palace station but we only like the tower rooms. we usually get a card to stay in the tower rooms, we if we don,t it is worth up grading to the tower room. the garden room is good for the value and we have stayed in the garden rooms but we really enjoy the tower and the caniso we always check in at front desk in a short amt. of time. Patsy on the front desk in a hoot!!!

She says "if the good lord is willing and the creek don't rise" I can do it. great hotel for adults. clean bathrooms but at times the blower in the bathroom doesn't work. tower room are large and the bed are comfortable even tho I have a bad back I get up every morning refreshed.

I was very disapointed in my stay this time. This is around the 5th time and very disappointed. Our air conditioning went out and with 100 degrees weather and 5 yrd old & 8 month son, well not good. Although our problem was fixed asap, which was good, it still was not pleasant. Our sink in the bathroom was clogged for the good part of our stay. It just was not the same, it didn't feel clean or a fun environment. Not to mention all the construction there, I almost slipped and fell while carrying my son. Thank God nothing happened!

Also not ggod to stay in the garden area with elder people (my 87 yr old grandmother) as they can not climb the stairs all day up and down. no elevator. Not a pleasant stay for her either.

Although I brag about the Palace Station, I will begin to look for another place to stay and not recommended anymore. Pretty sad!! If problems would be fixed, I would go back, but mig changes must be made before I go back!!

My girl and i just returned tues 5/31/05 from a 4 days stay at the palace. I had played there a couple of times last year but this was the first time that we stayed there. I was extremely please with our tower room #19028 with a view of the strip and the Rio. Large and clean with a nice spacious bathroom. The staff at checkin, the poker rooms dealers especially "Eric", the shuttle drivers and the chefs in the buffet all stand out as people who appearred to take the extra step when it came to kindness and extra effort. i.e. at the buffet one morning i noticed that there were no breakfast meats other than pork. I asked "Tony" the chef if they served any non-pork foods for breakfast and he told me that they did not. 2 minutes later here comes "Tony" the chef with some chicked that he must have cooked in the back just so i could have some meat with my breakfast. Did not ask for it but that is how they function at the Station. Never made it to the pool so no comment on that. Was comped at least 2 times by the floor sups at the pai gow tables for meals by just asking.

I will be back to the Palace.

We stayed 4 nights (our 4th time staying here and 7th Vegas trip) and were very pleased with the value. Nothing fancy but we didn't pay for nor expect fancy. The service we received was excellent. We were also very lucky on the casino slots. We definitely will stay here again.

Just visited the casino, because I wanted to see where the locals play. Quarter jacks or better VP with a pay scale of 8/5, figured it had to be 9/6 but nope. Mostly bonus or doubble bonus machines.

Despite some of the hysteria within the reviews, I took advantage of a fantastic pre-Xmas week deal and found the Palace Station pretty much as I would have expected. Check in was fast (it was a Tuesday evening), the Courtyard rooms were basic and dated but very quiet (I had a non-smoking room). The casino is the standard locals-style casino with a good selection of up to date inexpensive slots and good-pay VP. The buffet was above average and very good value (4.99 bk, 6.99 lunch/dinner). Very happy.

We booked a nonsmoking room, I asked at the desk and the clerk had the people skills of a brick. The room reeked of smoke,my son choked all night. The room was tiny and the t.v. cabinet wouldn't stay shut. We got bruised up trying to walk past the cabinet. The window wouldn't shut and we had to listen to the hookers frolicking in the pool. There was no elevator, we had to lug our suitcases up the stairs. We couldn't even get the clerk to give us directions. She circled on a piece of paper and pointed. I will never stay at the "Bates Inn" again.

This was my third time staying at the Palace Station. Stayed in the cheap courtyard rooms and for what I spent it was a good deal but I have stayed in the tower rooms before and it is worth the extra money. Also if you stay in the courtyard rooms ask for non smoking even if you do smoke. I smoke and the smell was gagging me so bad that I ask to change to a non smoking room which they did without a problem. The casino was just as good as any I have been to and the dealers made it a lot of fun even if you were losing and the comps are probably better than most casinos on the strip. The food is very good and cheap and you get large portions. The location sucks if you want to see the strip you have to get on a shuttle or do like I did and rent a car. Overall this is not a bad place if you want to save money so that you have more to gamble on but if you are someone that is hard to satisfy stay away.

It was a very reasonable place to stay. The downfall was the distance away from the other casinos, not within walking distance from other gaming. They do offer a shuttle service, but beware on the return trip. Possible of not fitting on the shuttle, limited seating. The courtyard rooms crampy and confusing to find, but clean, and no elevators. If you are looking for a quieter casino and a more local setting this is the place. The dining was great, and very reasonably priced. Can't rate the drinks because not very many cocktail waitresses. Personally would not go back this place only because we wanted a little more variety without having to take a taxi or shuttle.

Stayed in the courtyard rooms. Room was cramped for 2 doubles, but clean. Walked by the same room service dishes to get to our room from 16:00 to midnight...no hotel employees either weren't present or didn't think appearances were important. Shuttle from airport to Strip and hotel to Strip was offered. Expect a $4.95/night charge to cover local phone calls and services each night whether you use them or not. I got a great room rate, but figure that in. The internet site that I made the reservation didn't factor that into the room rate quoted.

We recently stayed here after getting a package through a travel website. First of all, it took 45 minutes just to check in. They had two people behind the counter not doing anything with 10 people in line to check in!

Then, we get to the room which is in a building not even connected to the casino, so called "courtyard rooms". I never saw a freaking courtyard, just parking lot, trash dumpster and freeway! We had to carry our suitcases up stairs as there was no elevator in this 2 story building.

I will say the room was clean, but my non-smoking room smelled of smoke. There was no bathtub only a shower. Only got two towels in the bathroom and NO IRON! There were maybe 5 channels on the TV, mostly Palace Station channels advertising the casino.

The buffet was ok, but nothing spectacular. It had both lunch and breakfast on it so the breakfast selection was small.

I WILL NEVER, EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN! I will also inform all of my future 100 guests at my wedding to AVOID this hotel all together! I will go back to The Orleans!
