We've stayed at the Main Street Station 15 times for a week at a time. Maybe we're in a rut or maybe this property just feels like home to us. We've always found most of the staff cordial. The car valets, registration clerks, the dealers and floor persons, the servers in the Triple 7 and the Pullman Grille are all accommodating. The housekeepers are usually efficient but do disappear at times and once a dealer, inexperienced as she was, didn't want to pay a A-2-3straight in 3 Card Poker and the florperson had to intervene. These lapses are rare. The casino with it's stained glass windows and high ceilings over the pit has an ambience lacking in ritzier resorts. The Triple 7 has that brewpub vibe and the Pullman Grille is furnished with historic artifacts and has a railway car parked right in the hushed, clubby room. You can take your after dinner coffee and cognac inside it.The Garden Court Buffet is a lovely room for breakfast where you can see daylight and focus your eyes for a day of revellry. I'm sorry to read that edjann from Hawaii had a negative experience from the server in the Triple 7. That's rare.

We were back again for our 6th time (4/3-4/7-08) and once again we enjoyed ourselves. My wife was invited to the slot tournament. Unfortunately, she didn't qualify. I did come in 3rd in the daily tournament one day. It seemed like the machines were a little tighter downtown this trip. The room was nice but still needed dusting. everytning else worked and once again we had a frig! The meals were great and this trip we got to eat at The Pullman Lounge. One of the best meals I've had in Vegas. Thanks Brenda for everything!!!! I wished that they would put in a deli or snack bar because there are times when I don't want a whole buffet for breakfast but just something light. But that's just me! Hope to be back in November. My wife and I have been staying at Main Street for a number of years. One thing we have noticed during our last couple of stays is, 'their mattresses are worn out'. My wife sent them a letter after the last stay about the situation. She never heard from anyone. My biggest knock with the casino is there are NO recessions given to non-smokers. The casino comps very well.

I just had a pleasant stay at Main Street Station. The room was very nice and clean. All staff that I encountered were very friendly and upbeat. I love the casino, specifically, the choice of video poker machines, free drinks from the brewery while playing, and the scratch tickets that are given out for 4 of a kinds and straight flushes. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Venetion for 3 nights then to go downtown cheched in here.

Super 8 hotel at best. Thats ok just don't think this place is tops because of the buffet.

Main St, Cali, Freemont are all part of Boyds but lesser quality than Orleans and Gold Cost. Can not use the Coast cards here????? Must reapply for the downtown properties.

You get a better deal at the other cost properties.

These downtown properties cater to Hawaiian/Japanese tours. Expect to see a lot of asian faces. Thats ok with me and the clients were friendly/fun.

You can only get POI at the Cali in Vegas. Poi does suck the big one.
You got the message. Well go stay and do the buffet.

Slots were REAL tight at all 3 places downtown.

Check in was real slow at Main St but the Hawaiian beauty checking us in made the wait a pleasure. Clevage, smile,& personality go a long way.

If you have a car do the Orleans (best rooms) or Gold Coast before other Boyds places. Sam's Town is also an option for much further out from the strip.
I love the Atrium show.

I played here for a couple of hours. The VP was very tight but the video slots were somewhat better. I saw an old lady win $500 on a 75 cent bet. Another guy won $90 on a 15 cent bet.

The beer is Excellent!! I recommend the Royal Red lager.

I really liked Main Street Station and would defintiely stay here again. By far the best place I've stayed Downtown. We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the rooms. We had heard that noise from the train and freeway could be a problem, so we asked for a room high up. They gave us one on the highest floor. It was larger and nicer than the typical Downtown room, and even had a nice view. The bathroom included a sink/vanity area and a separate toilet/shower area. This worked out well, as it gave me plenty of room to spread out at the sink - which is something of a commodity Downtown. I didn't care for the shower. Very low shower heads, and little manuverability if you need to shave your legs.

I love the decor of the hotel and the casino. This place has more atmosphere than most Downtown places. However, I found the slot selection in the casino to be somewhat lacking. Service was good and friendly, though.

The only downside I can see is that MSS is not directly on Fremont Street. You need to walk a couple of blocks over to get there, but it's not a long walk and would not prevent me from staying there again. The fact that it's off Fremont actually makes it more easily accesible by car.

We checked out this morning and unfortunately the 24 hr coffe shop was closed. The line in pasta pirate was overflowing into the waiting area and we all had a flight to catch. We went to the triple 7 brewery to eat something before going to the airport. There was only one waitress, and she was the waitress from hell-absolutely rude and unfriendly. She had no reason to be this way to us, and did not have any aloha spirit. At 4 am, she did not want to be there, and she let everyone know she was doing them a favor by taking their orders-not even menus on the table so she asked us to go outside to see what they had-we jsut kept on walking. it seems that if the coffee shop is going to close, there would be more co-ordination between eateries for Cal and Main Street. We ended up going to the airport on empty stomachs. Also, while gambling at main street, we had to move many times due to the cigarette smoke. At times it was nauseating (is it because of low ceiling heights?) and on two nights we ended up across the street after having to move so many times. Boyd Gaming is a giant, and they should take the lead in making some areas of the casino smoke free. How can they expect us to play for minimum time cycles if we are sickened by smoke?

Jan 07 My wife travel to Vegas once a year. This was our first stay at the MMS. Stayed at many Hotels downtown & on the Strip, the MMS is by far the best. Everyone was friendly.Room were very clean, watch talking a shower because the shower head is only about 5' high MAYBEE. Ask for a odd # room the even # rooms are noisy because your on the expressway side of the building & don't for get the RR trains that come buy. This didn't bother us to much because we only sleep for about 5 hrs.If you were to stay there in the month's you use use the air conditing you would not hear a thing. The restrants are 1st class.

This is not a place to take your family.Thers is no swimming poll. But Vegas is not for the family. The down side is that we didn't win any money. After checking in sigh up for the rewards card.

Well be back to stay at the MMS.

3rd visit this year. As always it was a great place to stay. Very helpful and cheerful employees. Thanks Brenda. Can't wait to get back again. This is our home away from home. Did not win $ on this trip but have won in the past. The best part is that it is a block or so off of the crowded downtown Fremont Street. Main Street is easily accessable from the skyway to The Cal and walking across the street to the Vegas Club.....Steve M.

We had never stayed downtown before so we decided to stay at Main Street during our June 2006 trip. The casino, Triple 7 Brewpub, and the buffet have a laid back atmosphere which suited us. Employees are courteous and attentive. Cocktail waitresses come around often. You can get microbrews from Triple 7 on the casino floor. The rooms are modern (were renovated in 2005) and comfortable. However, be prepared, the shower is a little short. It seems suited for those 5 ft and under.

JUST RETURNED HOME FROM 3 DAY TRIP. DIDN'T STAY AT THE HOTEL, BUT DID SPEND 1 DAY IN THE CASINO. I WAS VERY INPRESSED WITH THE SERVICE AND THE FRIENDLY DEALERS. MY WIFE PLAYS THE SLOTS AND I PLAY TABLE GAMES, SHE DID REALLY GOOD ON THE SLOTS AND I DID GOOD ON BLACKJACK. WE MADE BACK WHAT WE LOST AT THE GOLDEN NUGGET, THE HOTEL WE STAYED AT.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CASINO TO GAMBLE AT.

The service is friendly and accomodating. Even though we did not stay here we were given a comp on dinner and told that our rooms would have been discounted had we been staying with them.
The location (downtown) may not be the best but once inside you forget where you are. I actually enjoyed the property more so than most of the strip hotels.

I am a frequent visitor at Main Street Station; we visit Vegas 4-5 times per year, and this is the place we choose to call HOME. Rooms are GREAT -- clean, large, recently updated. Food is outstanding; can't beat the menu at the Triple 7. Of course we are fans of the microbrewery -- great beer you can get comped by drink waitresses while playing on the casino floor. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND signing up for the Players Club. We are very low-budget gamblers but by being members of the Club, we now get free rooms and comped food. Well worth the time to sign up. Visit in April was a mailed offer of 3 free nights with $25 food vouchers @ any MSS eatery. Great stuff, people! Hotel check in / out is always quick and easy. Valet parking is quickest downtown -- we usually use it even if we stay somewhere else.

The MSS is truly a jewel of downtown. The rooms are spacious, clean and very functional. The casino is large enough to accomodate all major games (no sports book or keno) but small enough that you will usually find your partner with one walk through. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food options on-site are wonderful! The buffet is the best downtown, the Triple 7 has great "sports bar" fare and the Pullman Grill is excellent. Their micro-brews are all very good and players get them free while playing.

Charge everything to your room and ask a host to review your play before you leave (ask at the slot club desk and the on-duty host has a computer right there and she will come to you). They are very generous.

This property is completing a remodel. The rooms are nicely done with limited amenities, hair dryers are avilable on request. If your a light sleeper you may want an odd numbered room. Rooms with even numbers overlook the freeway and railroad tracks. Rooms do not have window drapes but plastic slats on the windows. The hotel cleanliness is excellent. Check in and check out are efficient. Would not hesitate to stay at this property again.

I didn't stay at mss but visited here three times during my stay downtown.I love the 777 brewpub. For around $10.00 I had a very good prime rib dinner with a microbrew. It was very good and I had it each of the three times I visited the casino. The casino is I think the classiest downtown. I love the looks, feel and generally the people at main Street Station.... I thought about staying here my next visit but would rather be around the fremont street experience. The posts here sound like there can be a lot of noise from the trains.I would recomend this hotel and especially the 777 for visitors who would feel like trying it.......thanks, John D.

Main Street Station has to be the best hotel downtown. The rooms are nice and better than most out on the strip. Our room was clean and the bathroom was large. We were near the railroad track and hiway but didn't have a problem with noise. Let the fan run on the heating/ac unit and that drowns out most of the exterior noise.

The casino is like any other casino around, but it bugged me I couldn't find any full pay video poker machines.

The one thing this place has going for it is the food. We ate at the Triple 7 brew club and the food and beer were great. We also had the Sunday Champaigne brunch which was incredible. Yummy Yummi.

This place is definitely a value, but it isn't like staying on the strip. Don't get me wrong though, Main Street Station is nice and I would stay there again. It's just that the atmosphere is different than out on the strip.

Main Street Station is a good hotel for the value minded traveler. Rooms are not expensive and are functional. Beds are comfortable and rooms are adequately furnished.

I have read on this site that most prefer a room on the South side of the tower (odd numbered) as the noise level on the North side can be a problem. We stayed on the North side and the noise was awful. The traffic from the freeway is not too bad as I can sleep through a great deal. However, the noise from the trains is AWFUL. If you don't have an odd numbered room ask for one. If you can't get it, you should find another place to stay.

Additionally, the staff at the bell desk was less than helpful and forgot to pick up our bags after we called tha bell desk on checkout. It took over a half hour and two phone calls to get our bags picked up.

While I would stay here again, there are other places for me to get a value room off the strip, either downtown or on the Boulder Highway. I always rent a car and driving around town is not an isue for me.

This is the fourth time we've stayed at MainStreet Station and each time we find something else to like. Basic but clean rooms, nice location for downtown wandering with a bridge to the sister property, "California", good restaurants, terrific mail offers with mid-roller play and enough reasonable video poker to be enjoyable. Comps have been tightened slightly but most room offers come with food vouchers so the net result is still a great bargain.

Didn't stay here, stayed at Fitzgerald's, but gambled here. I went there because I wanted to try their micro brews. I think I'd classify them more as beer than a micro brew, but it didn't matter because the service was great and they kept them coming. They also have great video poker machines. Full-pay and if you get 4 of a kind, you get a scratch ticket and can win more money. I didn't realize this until my second 4-of-a-kind, so if you get one, be sure to hit your "change" button and show them so that you get your scratch ticket. They are a fun added bonus. The staff was also very friendly and fun to talk with.

Definetly my favorite place downtown. We stayed in December for free. They keep sending me these letters for three free nights, so we're going back in April. The rooms are adequate. We did notice some of the noise that others have mentioned, but it wasn't too bad. I also really like the atmosphere of the casino. The micro brews are available at the tables while you're gambling. The buffet is still one of the best in town and the Triple 7 Brew Pub also has great food. If you have a car, the self park lot is very convenient.

This place is a very good value and rewards you with generous and repeated offers after fairly modest action. Our room was on the 16th floor and faced the highway and traintracks- neither of which bothered us at all. Good clean basic room, a friendly hotel, nice casino and a nice assortment of restaurants are making this our favorite downtown spot.
Be sure to hit the triple 7 brewpub for a glass of high roller gold

Didn't stay there - stayed at the Nugget, but gambled here. Friendly dealers, even at the $5 blackjack tables. Customers were a lot like me - not serious gamblers, just out to have a good time. Prompt and frequent cocktail service - excellent beer. Really enjoyed the pale ale and the red. Will probably stay there next time.
