- Good Visit Recently came back in contact with my long time Host, it was like "Old Home Week"!! She put me up here, totally comp'd including a ride from the airport and all my food @ the hotel run restaurants (not McD's or KrispKrem's [unfortunately, hehe]). Am totally BLOWN away as this was a winning trip! Had a nice recently refurbished east view room on 26 (would have preferred a west view-but no biggie). The casino is smallish and a little worn yet clean, but w/good table odds/limits; some slots are still Coin-In and they all seemed in working order and well maintained. The staff is so friendly they are a pleasure. Drink service was EXCELLENT. NEVER had slow elevators, though one was out of service and being replaced. One Caveat, my stay was midweek, so I can't judge how things would be when crowded here. Don't expect the Plazzo and you will enjoy this place. Good Trip!!

- Good Visit Stayed here for 5 nights 11/5 to 11/10. Room 2137. Clean, comfortable, not a single problem with the room or housekeeping. Elevators only slow once and that was Monday when alot of folks were checking out. Courtyard Cafe/buffet was convienent and the food was good. Prices were decent. Did a lot of gambling here and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back.

- Bad Visit NIGHTMARE ON FITZGERALD'S ST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where to start!?!!?!?!? I must admit that getting checked quickly was the best part of my stay here... which only consisted of staying 1 night. Than it began! I got to the elevator and pressed the 5th floor but it took me to the 10th. So I get with no one else on the elevator, I clicked again to go to 5... it took be back down to the lobby!! SO getting a little frustrated I once again click 5. It took me to floor 7 with yet no one else there! I just want to go to my room to put my luggage away! so I took the stairs the rest of the way down and made it to my room. After meeting my friends and having a good day on the strip, i return back to good ol fitz's. I hop in the shower and ready just to relax for tomorrow.. well my tv didnt work at all so i called front desk and they said they would bring up a new one. that is exactly what they did! They brought up an old 1970's piece of crap with bunny ears! I asked them what about my free HBO? and they said the couldnt do anything. So fine i will just go down to the casino for a while till im ready for bed. So im playing this slot machine and after 45 minutes I hit a jackpot I couldnt believe it!!! it was a 1$ slot and i was maxed out, i was so excited!! after 2 minutes a manager and some other people came out to greet me... the manager said I am terribly sorry but it seems that this slot machine has malfunctioned. I have heard of this happening before but this was bull@!&#. after 2 hours of arguing i learned that i couldnt win.. the manager was very apologetic and offered me a coupon to any meal i pleased and Don's steak house.
So after a very restless night, I knew i'd atleast get a good steak tomorrow. Boy was I wrong and Good ol Don knew it too! The restaraunt was remodeling and wouldnt be open for a good week or 2. so my coupon was worthless! I immediately checked out and went to the excalibur.

- Good Visit My biggest complaint with the Old Style Casino is the ventulation is terrible. Being a non-smoker, you barely can play anywhere without being surrounded by smokers and smoke. My wife and I play slots until the place gets crowded amd then we go elsewhere.

- Good Visit We stayed here for the ninth time and we really enjoy it. The first night in town they had the hoedown going on and Fremont st. was busy. the weather wasn't all that bad, just needed a sweatshirt or light jacket most of the time. We still think the hotel is exceptional for the price, rooms are clean and big enough, the beds are nice, and housekeeping does a great job. The employees are very polite and helpful, especially the bellhops and the front desk. This is the first time we have encountered problems with the slow elevators, just to many people checking out at the same time, just adjust your schedule a bit and things work out OK. We will be back in the spring, relax and have fun.

- Good Visit We stayed at this hotel 11/10/07 through 11/13/07. The room was booked using a comp offer. We paid for 11/10/07 (Saturday night) $84 and had the other nights comped. The comps made this deal for us. We were trying to keep costs low when this offer came in the mail. Everyone from the Registration desk, to housekeeping, to the Slot Club booth, the gift shop, and to the parking garage attendants were all very friendly and helpful. The room was basic, room 1615, looking out towards the mountains with Elco in the immediate view. The room was fairly clean, the beds comfortable. Basic cable, iron and ironing board in the room, a wall safe, table and two chairs, queen beds, tub/shower combo, single sink, open closet space and a coffee maker in the bathroom. My mom drinks decaf so she left a note asking for decaf to be left in the room and a $1 tip. I went back to the room later in the day to pick up something and noted that multiple packs of decaf had been left by housekeeping. Much appreciated. There was only a slight amount of noise from the Fremont Street Experience, otherwise the room was very quiet. I want to comment on the shower. I am 5'8" and have had numerous problems in Vegas with having to duck to get under the shower head to shampoo, this is not comfortable. At Fitz the shower head was curved out and upward from the wall and quite tall enough, I was so pleased! A word of warning if you are renting a car, the garage for the Fitz is kind of tight around the corners so you have to use a great deal of caution because it would be easy to have an accident. You take a ticket when you enter the garage and when you leave you put your room number on it and hand it to the attendant. Guests do not pay for parking. The garage is accessed from 3rd Street. Your player's card gets you a discount in the gift shop. We did not know this ahead of time and the gift shop ladies brought it to our attention. All in all a good experience staying Downtown. Depending on our goals for the next trip, we would definetly consider staying here again.

- Good Visit Stayed for 4 days during the week in Aug. 2007. Room was very clean and appeared to have been remodeled recently. Check in was quick. Hotel staff was very friendly. Pool looked clean although we didn't use it. As others have mentioned, elevators can sometime take awhile, but they weren't a problem for us. Location is good if you want to be downtown. Good value for the money.
Did gamble some in the casino, but had terrible luck; went elsewhere - this is what's nice about downtown - you are only steps away from another casino. Met some people that say they stay on the strip and gamble downtown.
Overall good trip.

- Good Visit My wife and I take yearly trips to Vegas, usually opting for a different hotel each time. We enjoy staying
downtown, being that it has a more relaxed atmosphere. Our first stay at the Fitz was generally quite
acceptable, the pool came in handy during the 100+ degree days. We did not eat there, knowing that
there were better options for downtown dining. The casino was OK, and the staff was friendly.
However,
the elevator situation put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable stay. There are only 4 elevators, and one
of them was down for repairs. We were about half way up the hotel, which usually brought us a full
elevator when going down. There was always an extended wait when going up. Upon checking out, we
ended up hauling our bags down the entire 24 floors! Being that the price was very reasonable, we
were not expecting a luxurious hotel. For the money, it was worth the stay. Before booking, check and
make sure that all the elevators are working.

- Good Visit I've read some comments about the Fitz from some who had a not so good experience here. I am happy to report that our experience was fine. I'm a truck driver, and was told to stay at Wild Wild West because they accomodate trucks next door at the truck stop. I took one look that their $38 room, and even though it was only $38, it seemed more like a rescue mission (Rescue Mission would probably be much safer and more comfortable) After high tailing it from this location. I called Fitz, where I had stayed once before. The rate was $44 a night, and the room was clean spacious and comfortable. Stayed three nights, and on the 2nd day saw the maintenance crew installing new A/C units in the entire hotel. I parked my truck at Main St Station 5 blocks away, and paid $10 a day for parking. The bar staff at The Vue bar on the 2nd floor seemed a bit slow and confused. However, everyone else was very accomodating. But this time, just as last, there was no chance of hitting a lucky streak in their casino. Everywhere I sat and played I lost instantly and repeatedly. It didn't matter if I was playing BJ , 3 card poker or slots. Thankfully I chose to play the 3 card poker table next door at the Four Queens and had a much better night. It made up for the bad luck I had at Fitz' Casino. Will definitely stay at Fitz again. I love Downtown Vegas, everything is at your fingertips, and there's no need for a taxi or bus. I will even play again at Fitz, hopefully the 3rd time will be a charm. But it won't take a night of losing for me to visit other downtown casinos, maybe an hour and that's it ! haha.

- Bad Visit This was a nice property when it was affiliated with Holiday Inn. It has deteriorated since being sold. I am 6'5", so consistently ask for a long bed. When we checked in, we were told that there were no non-smoking available, so were given a double bed. The heat/air did not work, and it was a chilly night (not a good start to a 3-day stay). We were moved the next day, and the thing we can say is that the rooms were consistent in having filthy carpets. Shabbiness is creeping into the building, with loose trim, chipped paint, etc. The slots in the casino are still over half coin-operated, and service filling and repairing is SLOW. There seem to be some employees who are overworked, but most walk around and talk. Downtown seems to be thriving, and has much to offer in that no car is needed, and going from place to place is easy/convenient, but Fitzgeralds is not adding much to the Fremont Experience. I think many people whine far too much, so hesitate to offer a poor review, but it would probably be wise to consider another venue.

- Bad Visit There are 70,000 +- folks who need a place to stay twice a year (one week each visit) for the new Furniture Market in Downtown Las Vegas. I have a hard time understanding why Fitzgerald's cannot honor reservations made by myself and others whom set up these reservations months ago for non-smoking rooms and only to find out when we arrive there are none available.
I talked to many in our trade and they are of the opinion that the downtown hotels do not want or need our business. We will never make a reservation at a hotel that cannot guarantee non-smoking rooms.
The front desk staff at Fitzgerald's basically told us they were sold out and that smoking rooms aren’t that bad. Other words tough sh…
Well, were gone!!!!!!!!

I stayed there last week and had nothing but trouble with the room and shower etc. Someone on one of these sites said the corner rooms were great because of the view down the southern strip. Well, maybe if you only look out the window and not in the shabby room you will get a nice view. I immediatly moved out and got upgraded to 21st floor with 21 specal items for each room. Except for 2 bottles of freee water and the newspapaer each moring Monday thru Friday, I didn't see anything special. After 4 doys of complaining the Rooms Manager finally offered a comp nite, I took it. I also thought the casino was not friendly and the slots, tight. I know the video poker was not good except for the $0.05 machines which paid off o k for the investment.

- Good Visit Being that we like downtown better than the strip, we've been trying different hotels there. Golden Nugget has gone down the tubes, so we tried Fitzgeralds because they have the loosest slots. Our room was old looking but comfortable. The air conditioner was loud, but soothing when you're tired. We had no issues with the elevators as reported earlier. Staff was great and very accomodating. A good deal for the price!

i would like to make a comment on this fritzsgerald casino/hotel in las vegas as don't trust the security if you lost your personal belonging. for ex: your wallet, they give false phone number to you if you want to delete any credit cards,(don't trust). they don't even contact you once they found it or answer their phone if your trying to phone or hang up on you, either way. I would rate this hotel/casino, poorly and very considerate careless of the tourist belongings. So hope everyone make sure if this ever happens to you there, please make sure that your credit cards are cancelled properly.

- Undecided Upon check in the front desk was sooooo slow and we were the only ones in line. Two of our rooms had broken air conditioning and one a broken toilet. The pool is extremely small. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are pretty big. The slots were horrible, as well as the casino employees. Don't ask questions!! The maid service didn't speak english, so that was a waste of time. We had a little juice spill one day only to find the next morning that the pillow had been flipped and placed on the other side of the bed. The valet was great and efficient, so were the bellmen. I was surprised that upon check in three different employees told our group not to eat at their own hotel!! They sent us across the street to the Freemont Buffet which had horrible food and service!!! The breakfast at Molly's Buffet was pretty good. Don't recommend the cafe. Definitely not a place for kids, but it is a great location on Freemont street.

- Bad Visit Casino ok for single OR married men without wives. Casino caters to these. Ice machine broken on our floor, reported, not fixed. Comps are a JOKE. Got a whole "Fitz pen and pencil set" in a plastic case for spending all our money there and there were many things we saw when we got there, but had no choice when we went to leave! Too many times accosted by time-share folks too.Woman got mad when we refused her offer!
Chair was broken in room, MAID LEFT RUBBER GLOVES ON OUR SINK INSIDE-OUT!!! FILTHY LADY!
Not much to do here considering I like to be served drinks when gambling. Maid also said she would return when we left, she did not. UNSAFE ELEVATOR--got in, pressed button, door went back and forth and elevator shook!(Got off PROMPTLY.) NO deals as far as free gambling unless you like to play against a chicken and you have to go last!(Tic-tac-toe)!!! Poor chicken. You get what you pay for in Vegas, and the Fitz is the pits.
Don't be in a hurry if you eat here either. The waiters are slow as molasses. Sorry, I'm not used to this kind of slum. There are more conveniences in MOTEL rooms than there are at the Fitz.
And Ladies- if you are married, stay with your man if you want to be waited on for a drink in the casino! Otherwise you'll probably be ignored. What a rip. I loved Las Vegas, just not the Fitz. YUCK.

- Good Visit Although this is an old hotel, we found the accomodations nice. The room was clean and adequate for our stay. The wall paper was peeling in the bathroom, but I took this for it being old. Remember, it is NOT a 5 star hotel!! It is inexpensive and worth it for the bed and shower, which is all you'll use it for since you're in VEGAS!! The front desk staff was courteous, but could use more people. The valet and bell hop were excellent!! I would suggest using valet parking (it's free) to avoid the hassle of parking and finding the registration desk. We had breakfast at the buffet and it was nice. Again, I would say this is great place to stay, especially for the price.

Corner room provided awesome view of mountains and the strip.Housekeeping kept us in extra towels, room was cleaned each day promptly while we were out. Have read complaints about the elevators being slow - if these were slow, others must be the speed of lightning!! Bed was comfortable, shower great - really had no complaints about anything. While not fancy and in no way "FooFoo" and oft times a little ragged on the edges...The Fitz is without a doubt the best value we have experienced. I love their staff and you can get a 32 casino rate (However I have not paid for a room in 6 years there)I always have plenty of comps and I am by no way a high roller. I get more good offers from them than any other casino I get mail from.
I was a Golden Nugget junky until I started staying at the Fitz.

- Bad Visit I'm a frequent visitor to Vegas, and stayed many places downtown. I arrived at the Fitz and was greeted by friendly staff. Typical small downtown casino lobby, smokey atmosphere, etc. I asked for a king and non smoking room, but was given a double queen smoking room. The rooms where small, had a bad odor (cheap airfreshener over smoke?), and it was pretty worn. The beds where harder than most floors i've slept on. Pretty disappointed with the rooms.
For the same money, i'd go to the Las Vegas Club, Plaza, El Cortez and have a much nicer room.

Wife got slot tourney invitation with comped rooms. Room was very nice and clean. Much better than we had expected AMOF. IMHO, The only downtown hotels with nicer rooms than Fitz is Golden Nugget and Main Street Station. Fitz room is not much behind of those, though. And much cheaper than GN, too! The only bad thing about teir hotel is the elevator. I mean it can be really slow sometimes.
I have heard some complaints about their parking garage before. We got in and out of the garage everyday and it wan't too bad. The garage is a bit narrower than those in the strip and Golden Nugget but it was all right. It is about the same as the ones you would see in big city downtown. So it is not a big deal.
Now the casino... the slot seems all right. They have OK Video Poker machines (some NSUD). Table games are not really good, though. I played so-so double deck game with $5 min on day and they wanted to raise the min to $15 around late afternoon. Interestingly I was the only one who was playing and I had to leave as I don't want to bet $15 per hand for the game. Since I left the table, nobody was playing on the table. I have no idea why they would do this. Isn't $5 table with some palyers better than $15 table with no player for the casino?
Foods... Definately avoid the buffet. One of the worst buffet in LV, IMHO. The caffe (Shamrock?) was fine, though. We had prime rib special there and it was good.

- Good Visit Visited the Fitz 18th Sep 05 to 25th Sep 05 what a great place to stay we asKed for a room with a view and what a view we got, they gave us a corner room on the 27th floor with a 90deg view of Freemont Street, North LV through to the Strip fantastic. the room had a king size bed, safe etc. The maid was kept us well supplied with towels and smellies ( dont forget $2 tip per day and a little extra on the last day ). Food was good and nothing to complain about, the steak house ( Limeric) was superb with steak that melted in our mouths and the service was second to none. The hotel were friendly and got good service from the concirge and vallet parking. What else can one say it was a good experience WELL DONE FITZGERALDS STAFF.GREAT VISIT we will be back.

Spent a good deal of time playing here on 7/3/05. Good action on tables and slots. The ONLY balcony on Fremont upstairs is a great place to watch the show. I'll be back when next downtown.

- Bad Visit Fist off, we love Downtown!! Its a great place to kick back and relax with regular people and had a blast!! Its like one giant party where you can win money!! O.K. now here is the deal..
We spent a ton of money on drinks and slots and were having a great time dancing on one of the small dance floors by the bar. It was the last song that the D.J. was playing. We had a ton of people, some of whom we knew, some that we didnt, up dancing. One of our friends cleared the floor and did a back flip. ASAP security comes over and starts telling him that that is unacceptable, blah blah blah. O.K. thats fine, BUT security didnt leave, they kept standing hovering over us, so we left and took everyone with us. There are PLENTY other places that dont mind people having a good time and spending money at their casinos!!! Next time we'll go there.
The bartenders that were outside on Freemont Street were great!! Drinks were good, big and cheap. Plus these guys are FUN to watch!!

I just got back today 6/26/05 .. I gambled all over the strip and downtown. Craps is my game. The Fitz was by far the best. Friendly staff.. helpful, HONEST and great security. Their table didn't have a "extra" bounce in it like some of the other downtown casinos either. I will only play craps at the Fitz in future visits. My wife won quite a bit on the dollar slots also. Old time feel adds to the atmosphere that Vegas is still Vegas not the new Disney.

- Bad Visit Staff not friendly nor efficient, keno lounge really disorganized and unfriendly, very very slow and not enough help. I could not believe that at around midnight on a friday night, while gambling on the second floor the cocktail waitress told us she was told not to accept any more drink orders as the Bar was closing. After checking with another staff member I was completely blown off. We gambled the rest of our vacation at the 4-Queens and the Golden Nugget. The lack of friendly efficient employees, except for the Bell Station Staff and a few waitresses, has me believe they have a severe upper management problem. Mr. Barden I hope you are listening. I owned two Restaurants I know from which I speak.

- Undecided We only gambled and ate at Fitzgeralds so I will limit my comments to that...
The slots were very loose here. I played for 45 minutes on 20 dollars. Betty Boop machines and Little Froggy slots kept me playing for a long time. However Fitzeralds needs to get on board with the ticket payout technology. It stinks when you're done playing a machine and get a huge bucket full of nickels. You need to soak your hands in Clorox after handling all the filthy coins. Also, the comp program leaves something to be desired (namely comps!). If you drop three hundred bucks in the slots you might get a free cup of coffee if you're lucky. C'mon guys!
We had dinner at the buffet there. We could tell before we even walked in that it was a lesser quality buffet but the price was right and the food was decent (not extravagent in any way, mind you, just decent). Its hard to screw up fried chicken and mashed potatoes.
I'd say Fitz is a nice little place if you're a low roller. I like the crowd at Fitzgeralds. Lots of locals and blue-collar types...not to mention the realy cute cow-girl types too!

- Good Visit Stayed at Fitzgeralds over Superbowl weekend and got a good deal thru Americawest Vacations...check-in was a breeze and got a nice, clean room on the 24th floor...good value for the money at the Fitz; lively casino and a fun atmosphere...only real negative to the place was the parking garage;you've got to go up 7 levels around tight turns to finally park your own car.

- Undecided Stayed Christmas to New Years week. Great location if you like downtown which we do. Parking abominable unless you use valet. Valet service great. Room on 16th floor very ordinary/some appearance problems (mold in bath, loose carpet, etc). Overall staff performance was good. All that being said, this hotel has the absolute worst elevators in Vegas. Four elevators (w/at least one inoperative most of the time). Horrible, horrible waits. Average 10 minutes to as long as 22 minutes (or longer, we finally took the stairs, from the 16th floor-blah!) Good value for the money, but those elevators are enough to try the patience of Job.

- Good Visit The rooms have been remodeled since last visit, and were very nice. Nothing fancy but who stays in their room in Vegas??? We had good luck at Casino, I had a hot machine and I watched 3 people hit jackpots on same machines in an hour. Downtown location is great...right in the middle of action. If you want to enjoy Fremont St Light show, go to 2nd floor and sit out on balcony and watch the show up close, great way to enjoy!! We will be back in Feb.

- Good Visit Stayed at Fitzgerald's Nov. 7-11, 2004. Had a great view from the 22nd floor. Room was clean, bathrooms are huge compared to other downtown hotels. Had no problems with elevators as others have stated. Employees we talked to were all pleasant and helpfull. Didn't have any luck gambling there, but didn't have any luck anywhere downtown this trip. Love the closeness of all the downtown hotels and the light show is great. Have stayed at many downtown hotels and would definately stay at Fitzgerald's again.

- Good Visit The room was nice, great view, we were on the 27th floor. The service was good. We were there early in the morning on our first day, got checked in, checked our bags, and by 3 we could finally get in to our room, which we expected. Tried to use their soda machine on that floor to get some water, but the machine didn't work, one of the hotel workers brought us up 4 bottles of water on the house. Some other comments were about the noise from the a/c, but we had no problem with the noise, we were so tired each night that sleep came very easily. Never even tried to eat at the Fitz other than Krispy Kream, because of the negative comments. We only ate at the Fremont buffet and Main Street Station and the food at both places were good with a good selection. The first night there they had a rock band playing right outside the Fitz, and the music was very good, lots of people hanging around, some of them really getting into it, the drinks tasted very good that night. The next day we decided to take the shuttle from the California to Sams Town (no luck gambling there), and then took the shuttle to Stardust and did the strip for a while (no luck on the strip either). Took a taxi from the Stratosphere back to the Fitz, cost about $7.50. Our best luck was at Main Street Station, the place was pretty kind to us. One late afternoon we were going to take a walk to El Cortez, but we were getting bombarded by the locals, "hey man, can I buy a cigarette?", or "can I talk to you?", so we thought the better of it. All in all we enjoyed the trip, the only hangup was at the airport, Bush came to town that day, so we were held up by about 1/2 hour, not too bad really. I would stay at the Fitz again, but considering maybe Main Street next time.

- Undecided Stayed at the Fitz (late October 2004) with a group of six because we got a good deal. We called a few weeks before and asked for non smoking rooms together. Two of the three rooms were together and the other was down the hall. I received a smoking room with a VERY strong smoke smell. At the casino we had to wait in long lines to get change or cash in chips. The cashier window had 4 or 5 lanes but only one person working and a few in the back counting money. When I finally got to the window I cashed my ticket and asked for some $10 bills. The cashier responded by saying they didn't have any right now. No tens at a casino? Interesting. We spent most of our time at the Fremont where the food is better and the employees are much more friendly. Next time we'll probably stay there...

- Good Visit This hotel was okay. Bad for kids because you will need to walk through the casino (cigarette smoke)to get to the elevators. The elevators were small in size and kind of slow at times. The Shamrock Cafe is terrible. I would not recommend anyone to eat there. The Molly's Buffet was okay. All in all, I would rather stay at Main Street.

- Good Visit Stayed at the Fitz from 8/19 - 8/22/04. When we checked in I asked at the front desk for a Club 21 room. Really nice & Clean. It had 2 large double beds, a desk & chair, table and 2 chairs, a large bathroom with a blow dryer, coffee maker, nice amenities, and of course an iron & ironing board. Every morning a USA Today paper was delivered and when the maid cleaned the room she gave us 2 bottles of water. The only downside to my room was the air conditioning unit was a little loud. We had a great time there. Live music at night in the casino area. We danced the conga. The staff was terrific. Played some of the new table games like switch blackjack. Seen some big winners. The dollar rapid hit slot machines were going off like crazy all weekend. Each time for around $1500+. In all we had a great time but did not win at the Fitz. For food we ate alot at the Fremont across the way. They have one of the best buffets in the downtown area. Seafood night, T-Bone steak night, etc. Great food for the value.
I would definitely recommend staying at Fitzgeralds. Clean rooms, great price & lots of nice people. You'll have a hoot!!

- Good Visit This was the first of my many visits to Las Vegas where I stayed Downtown and I loved it. I'll stay DT on my next visit. Better gambling odds and a more interesting mix of people. I visited many of the hotel/casino's there and along with Main Street Station, the Fitz was the best. Very friendly staff, great room (I was in a "Club" room apparently), and very good cocktail service. The bartender actually remembered my name and what I was drinking the next day I showed up! They also had a handful of full-pay video poker machines which is good. When I gamble, I hope to win but assume that I'll lose, but that's okay as long as I'm entertained for a long time. The Fitz did a great job - I lost $, but had fun and will return. One of the other places that I gambled was the Plaza. That was terrible! I heard that they were known for having great cocktails and great cocktail service, but that's not what I experienced. I was gambling there for about 2 hours and the cocktail waitress (note: singlular) completely ignored me and from what I could see also the people around me. Actually, she eventually did ask me if I wanted a cocktail, but never brought it or showed up again. It must be a really special thing to get a drink at the Plaza because the same waitress was previously yelling at some guy who apparently asked for a cocktail, but she wasn't going to give him one. Good thing I didn't ask! That was the only entertainment I experienced at the Plaza, so I cut my losses there and went back to Fitzgerald's where I resumed having a great time. Next time I visit Las Vegas, I'll likely stay either at the Fitz or Main Street Station.

- Good Visit This was my first time staying downtown. I think I will think twice before I stay anywhere else! This hotel far exceeded my expectations. I had a corner room on a high floor with windows on 2 walls of the room. I could see the strip and the mountains. The night view was better than most lookout points I have been in Vegas as the room was higher than any other building in the area. I would definately recommend this hotel. For food, I recommend going to Golden Nugget or Main Street Station (both within walking distance).

My wife and I stay at Fitz 3 or 4 times a year now. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The resturaunts are ok but don't expect anything fancy except at Limiricks. The one thing that keeps us coming back is their service. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The dealers are a lot of fun and the waitresses keep the drinks flowing. We love the Fitz and we plan another three trips there this summer.

- Undecided My room was large, spacious, and clean. Pleasantly surprised by the fact that you could open the windows. Make sure to ask with a room that faces Red Rocks, especially if you are on an upper floor, its a beautiful view at night, I suspect if you have a room that faces Freemont street there is going to be a lot of noise and lights. Parking garage ramps are little tight and steep, but no big deal.
The food however is awful, don't bother eating at this hotel, find someplace else.
Bottom line, rooms were great, food was not. I would stay at this hotel again if the food was better.

- Good Visit The Fitzgerald is a great buy. The rooms are very cheap and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. I figured because of the price that it would be a dump. I really enjoyed my visit there and, and this is a big thing in Las Vegas, the elevator is speedy. I remember my stay in the Excalibur where you would wait forever for the elevator to stop on your floor.

The pool was nice the people were helpful Nice rooms ...My mom wanted to surprise me by upgrading my room and they did it for free So I SAY just ask you never know... One thing that bothered me was that they needed to shut the water off one of the nights we stayed so we had no water from 1-3 in the morning... That wasn't bad but they were drilling out pipes and walls necxt door to us till 5:30 in the morning made for a ruff night But that ISN"T enough for me to rate this place bad...Great deals Nice service.... 4**** in my eyes

- Undecided I only stayed here one night and I'm not sure if I'd stay again. The day I checked in, they told me that they didn't have a room, although I had paperwork showing that I had already paid for a room. They explained that the owner had a party that he wanted to have and that they had put me at the El Cortez. I was not happy, nor were the people beside me. The girl told me that the owner could have a party if he wanted to, he owned the hotel. I told her that she was right, but if he kept doing that to people, his paying customers wouldn't come back and he wouldn't be the owner anymore. I firmly let them know that the El Cortez was cheaper and asked if they were going to refund any of my money. I also mentioned that I couldn't wait to rate them on the internet. They said, "What?" Suddenly, they had a room. The staff was nice, the casino staff and security were very nice and overall it was a good stay after a bad check in.

The Valet guys were great as usual however their belldesk guys always seem as if they woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
Luckily we only had to deal with the belldesk once -- we took care of our own luggage upon check-up.
