Great stay! I complimented the check-in gal on her nice smile - something we hadn't seen in previous trips there. Our room in Tower I on the 12th floor was really nice. The recent renovation made the room brighter by doing away with much of the heavy "dungeon-style" decor. Plus being from Wisconsin, we were happy to see the Kohler faucet fixture and also the granite counter top. The wide screen HD TV was a plus. Keep up the good work, Excalibur!!

The pool was nice, especially the slide. I didn't ecxatly like the part when they poured water with the bucket when we were sliding. The room was nice and so was the arcade. I loved the view of the castle from my window. Also we had a wide screen TV. I will definitely be staying here again. (Hunter age 9)

If you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay, I would recommend The Excalibur. I thought it was easy to find your way around in. The rooms weren't fancy but were clean. There is no bathtub but the shower was large. If you don't want to spend a lot on food, there is a food court on the second floor with a Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Quiznos, and Cold Stone Creamery. Everyday from 2:00pm-6:00pm, the buffet price is 2 for the price of 1. We thought the buffet was very good. They had turkey, prime rib, fried and baked chicken, chinese, mexican, a great salad bar with lots of toppings and dressings, a good choice of desserts including suger-free ones. The breakfast is also good. There is no seafood so if you're looking for that go elsewhere. There is also a walkway from the Excalibur to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. Overall, I liked the Excalibur--the people were friendly and I would stay there again.

I go to Vegas to eat, gamble, and see the sites - not to hang out in a hotel room and watch tv or soak in the tub. I expect a decent room with clean bed linens, a clean bathroom, clean towels, and decent soap, shampoo, etc. in a good location. I want to pay a low price for these things leaving more money for dining, gambling and shows. Excalibur gives me all this at a price well below any other strip property. I've stayed here for years and the new rooms, while not fancy, do have new carpet, bathrooms, wallcoverings, and drapes. They are nice enough. Yes, I've stayed at Mirage, Golden Nugget, and Venetian. These are nice, but it's all about what you're willing to pay. Excalibur staff are as friendly as any. The casino is well layed out and has plenty of $5 limits for someone who views gambling as a game and not a money making (losing?) venture. I don't eat buffets anymore because they all taste alike, and Sherwood Forest Cafe could be improved upon, but I eat at non-Casino restaurants anyway. The new automated poker tables were OK, but I prefer dealers. However, for food and poker, I can easily go to adjoining casinos without ever getting in the car: Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM, New York New York. Excalibur is convenient to the airport and to I-15. It is also an easy drive to the off-strip properties like Orleans, Rio, Palms, and Gold Coast. All in all, if you're traveling to Vegas to have a great time at an affordable price, I highly recommend Excalibur and go fo the New Rooms.

If you have a problem at this hotel, keep your mouth shut! Thats their policy. They will not lift a finger to help and will be annoyed and make snotty comments if you have even a minor problem.

The "renovated" rooms are not much of an upgrade from the older rooms.
The carpet already had threads pulled out all over.
The 42" plasma TV was nice but they do not get a digital signal so it was also a total waste.
The only thing in the bathrooms that was renovated was the granite counter. Everything else was old. The door frame was split to the bathroom. The shower grout was old and gross. They did improve their soap and shampoo.

The new carpets in the halls and elevators are already stained.

The casino isn't as smelly as it used to be but the games stink. I played some spanish blackjack and the cranky pit bosses totally ignored my players club card. I gambled elsewhere and didn't encounter this problem anyplace else.

The security guards at the elevators were not there all the time. Bad security.
The hall was full of marijuana smoke one night. Not quite family friendly as they seem to be catering to broke druggies.

Tower 2 was shut down because of a fire alarm the first day. It was too dangerous for people to go up but they did not evacuate the people in their rooms. Had there been a real fire there would have been a massive tragedy.
People were coming off the elevators and asking what was going on. There was a crowd of 60 people waiting to get to their rooms.
I asked at the front desk what was going on. The front desk manager did not even know what was happening and had to phone security. I asked when it would be resolved and was told by the desk manager, "I don't see that it's MY problem."
Another employee made a snotty comment to me after that.

If there is ever a real fire, you will not be evacuated, you will burn.

Our whole trip started out great. We got a free car upgrade to the Shelby GTH Mustang, which is an incredible car. Then we got to the Excalibur. The valet parking was a mess, very unorganized( a half hour wait to give them the car). Checked in and they upgraded us for $10 a night. The upgrade turned out to be a view of the Tropicana and MGM and not the room itself. The room was very old and rundown, stains all over the place. It was room 69, so u can imagine what happened in there. There is no bathtub in the entire hotel, just showers. My wife really enjoys taking a bath once in a while. The food in the hotel is horrible, it is by far the worst buffet in vegas. They also only have Pepsi products, which sucks. Every time you walk by any entrance or exit they had timeshare sales people hassling you. I counted 25 times in three nights. They were even on the bridge to the NY/NY. I love MGM/Mirage properties but not this one. I will definitely stay center strip next year.

Excalibur has treated us very well, and great on comps. Learn to use the comps as with any casino. Cocktail waitress are slow during the days, but no problems late at night. We tip, so that helps. Agreed with most comments in the fact that the timeshare folks are a great pain, which most casinos allow not just Excalibur. Very annoying to the guest. Yes we stay at the Excalibur on a regular basis.

Okay...this is one of the "budget" hotels on the Strip. Let's get that out of the way and clear before we start :)

I love the gaming here, especially video keno. I also enjoy the Sherwood Forest Cafe which offers some of the better late night dining when comparing other 24-hour cafes in casinos that I have frequented.

I preferred the older rooms as they offer sofas in the room. It's always nice to have something comfortable to sit on - even if it's to read for an hour at night. No point in paying for an upgrade room that offers Plasma TV's when there is a definite lack of television stations. If you enjoy catching Bravo or HGTV...better record at home and watch when you go back. The beds are VERY comfortable and I had no problems sleeping. I wish they had a sink outside of the actual bathroom - would certainly make it easier for 2 people to get ready in the mornings. My biggest quabble is that the parking is horrible. Construction around the area does not give you many options - the employees actually have some of the better parking areas. Valet is almost always the best resort here. I enjoy the ease in moving along to neighboring casinos through the tram and the people movers across Las Vegas Blvd.

The gaming is great....video keno is a dream and the craps tables always seem to be hopping. The poker area is busy as well.

I know that many people complain about the kids but I honestly never see this problem. In fact, I've seen more problems with the weekend 20'somethings that roll into town, fill up a room and then leave numerous styrofoam coolers in the hallway upon their exit.

I have frequented this site for many years now so I figure I should probably contribute. It surprises me that The Excalibur continues to receive poor ratings on this site. I find this to be one of the best values in Las Vegas. I've also stayed at New York New York twice and Circus Circus once. I find the rooms to be about the same quality as NY NY at about half the price. I don't stay in anything but the cheapest room as I don't plan to spend much time in them so I'm sure NY NY has some higher quality more lavish rooms but I'm not concerned with them. This was my 2nd stay at Excalibur and really enjoyed myself. I think Dick's last resort is one of the funnest restaurants in Vegas. By far the funnest meal i've had there. I enjoy the atmosphere here and although it's not prime real estate on the strip, its still a good location. Within a short walk of MGM, NY, Luxor, Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay. Overall there isn't anything extraordinary about this hotel/casino but its a spacious clean room at a very good price. You can't beat it.

This was my 7th trip to Vegas and I have stayted at the Excalibur 4 of these times. I, again, was very happy with my stay. The rooms are clean the maid service was good and the gambling was good for me. I would not recommend the buffet but that is the only thing I was not happy with. I read negative things about this hotel but I am a middle class person and I am looking for a clean room on the stip and they provide me with everything I need at a great rate! I go to Vegas about every two years and have stayed here the most. I do not have kids but don't see that many kids when I go because I go in the Spring or Fall times.

Have stayed here several years, this was worst experience ever. Asked for rate reduction between what I originally booked room for and what it decreased to by the time I checked in. Was refused. Asked for room close to elevator, received room 3 doors from end of hallway. Asked for room with a partial view, received room on 4th floor staring directly at a concrete wall. Craps table workers and slot hosts were caring and fun, but guest registration clerks could use a training session on how to provide good customer service. Room is what you pay for. If looking for a value, this is it, but don't expect any extras. This is a good location with other nicer casinos within walking distance. Have seen the payouts and the selection of slot machines decrease over past 4-5 years. Couldn't stay on one long enough to get a drink if you could find a waitress. Only place could sit and relax was at video poker outside bar with big screen TV. Absolutely hate the time-share sellers at every entrance---they become annoying. Casino was cold due to outside air not being blocked off. Will have to encounter a very special deal to consider staying here again. What a shame.

My kids wanted to stay at the Excalibur because of its "fairy-tale" setting so during or vacation last year we spent one night. Thank goodness it wasn't more- what a mistake!

The rooms are so small and cramped they could double as closets, and all the efforts of the world from the cleaning staff can't hide the fact that this is an outdated hotel badly in need of a major overhaul. The food at the buffet is expensive and inedible. The pool was so overcrowded we wouldn't let the kids swim in it. And don't even get me started on the employees who yelled every time a child such as put a toe over the "line" dividing the casino from the pathways between the so-called amenities. My advice to anyone traveling to Las Vegas is don't stay here.

I have mixed feelings about this property. I got a deal through Northwest Vacations and decided to try it. It was just OK. Hallways are dark and dingy. Room was clean and big, but the noise from the air conditioning unit could wake the dead. There were way too many kids here running up and down the halls at all hours screaming and slamming doors. I had decent luck with the slots, and the Sherwood Forest Cafe and Louie Anderson show were both exceptional. I would tend not to make this my first choice in the future unless I got a deal too good to refuse.

My mom and I come here every year and stay at the Excalibur. It is the best bang for your buck. It is
prime location and if you request a room w/ a view of north side of the strip it is amazing! The rooms
are nice, not Venetian, but nice. The way I look at it is I don't go to Vegas to spend time in my room, so
why pay the money...I just need a comfortable pillow to lay my head at the end of the night! Sure there
are kids, but honestly...they are not running around. The casino floor is laid out so well that kids are
not running around you. The slots are great...you will play forever w/ $20.00. It is true the cocktail
service could use improvement, but if you tip well the first time...they will be back! TRUST ME! I will
never stay at any other hotel on the strip! Oh...the fitness facility and spa is amazing...Try the stone
massage...it won't do you wrong!

We have stayed here before and never had a problem, but this time as we were checking in my husband had a cigarette and was about to put it out when the young lady at the desk got snotty about him putting it out, before he got to the desk (there was a ash tray right under her area, it is a casino, lots of smoke.)her name was Ann or Anna very nasty even when he said he was sorry. Then she gives us a room on a non-smoking floor, could she be stupid or what!
It was about 12:30am went to the rooms, we had two rooms one for our daughter and grandson. Our daughters room had four light bulbs out and the toilet had exploded all over the bathroom floor, she called for some help they were there very fast and took care of the toilet and floor, lights were replaced the next day. (They did ask if she wanted another room but it was just to late and no one wanted to deal with that girl at the reservation desk again. We will not stay there ever again, I guest they really don't care they make enough money off everyone else. All the other employee's were great and so was the Tounament of Kings show to bad one unhappy person can make things start off so bad. But when thats how you are welcomed it, just puts a bad spin on the place.

Just had another visit in December 06, still great value for money, love the friendly staff. Only bad things a light bulb was out in the room but it didn't make any difference to the holiday! Can't stand all the hawkers everywhere you go, not just in Excalibur but most hotels. They should get rid of them they are rude and obnoxious.....they can see you have your suitcases but they are still trying to drag you to their booth to get 'free' tickets for this that and the other!

Love this hotel because you get what you pay for.....Cheap accomodation. When you go to Vegas it's not to stay in your room all day and night, it's somewhere to rest your head after a day and night of gambling and sight seeing. Why spend big money on fancy hotels when the money saved by staying here will pay for a night at a show and dinner???? I find the staff are friendly and our room has always been clean and tidy. There are children always running around but they seem to keep to the main pathways that run through the casino, so you can always move over to a bank of machines out of the way. The buffet is OK, you get what you pay for. Love the Sherwood Forest Cafe, great food at a cheap price and 24hrs a day. Hotel is in a good position close to everything.
We like it here so much we are going back again in December and again in April. It also has a good range of slots, some of the latest ones. Love jewel miner and Monopoly.

spent 4 nts here with 2 teenage kids. THE place to stay if you have kids. plenty for them to do, great food court, arcade, plus NYNY casino nearby. casino staff was hit-and-miss, some very friendly, others could care less. very slow cocktail service at all hours. low-limit games most hours. good coupon book at check-in. front desk very quick, friendly. We stayed at Circus-Circus several years ago, but excalibur has much better location for sightseeing, m&m world, mgm lions, etc. pool was ok. one half was closed for a full day. no wifi - costs 10.99 to connect to internet in room. would return because of room rate and value - until the kids turn 21!

Throughout the years we have stayed at the Excalibur several times. Usually when we stay we are with a group of friends and all of us are just looking for a good value. That’s what it is, a good value. Nothing fancy, just a place to lay your head after a long day (or night) in Vegas. We don’t tend to spend much time in the room when we are on a trip with a group of people, so this hotel suits us perfectly. (However, when my husband and I are on a getaway to Vegas by ourselves we do tend to prefer a more upscale hotel.)

I would tend to agree that the beverage service is not the greatest at this casino, even when you are spending some major cash at the tables. It’s very slow if you even get a drink at all. This hotel is also at times overrun by children which can be a bit annoying. We don’t really play much here for those reasons. The location of the Excalibur can also be a hindrance. I prefer to be at the places that are in the middle of the strip most of the time (Caesars, Harrah’s, Paris, etc.).

$31 a night. Thats right. $31 a night. The rooms are not special like the Venetian, Bellagio,Mandalay Bay or even Luxor for that matter but they are good enough and nicer than IP. Didn't play the slots but did play Blackjack with the stupid 6-5 and restricted doubling rules. Bottom line, I would absolutely stay here again for the right price. Its probably not as bad a joint as you are thinking from some of the reviews I'm reading here.

Stayed here again 9/09. The place has gotten obscenely cheap. I have email offers for $20 a night and it is rarely over $40 all year. They have remodeled most of the rooms and they are nicer. They have loosened the rules at BJ regarding 6/5 BJ and restricted doubling. If there is one thing that bugs me it is that you only get 7-8 channels on your TV.

We had a hit-and-miss visit here two years ago mainly due to poor housekeeping. But this time, staying here as a last resort, we were surprised by how nicely things were kept up. It still wouldn't be my first choice of hotel on the South Strip but it's improved with regard to the rooms. The staff was very helpful and friendly (I got stuck in an elevator at one point and they were prompt in getting me out of there). They also do a pretty good job of keeping kids under control. Don't count this place out if you're looking for something lower-priced on the Strip and/or other options aren't available.

Cannot get a drink in this place to save your life unless you are sitting in the sports book taking in March Madness. Service is non-existent & rude.
Slots are ok, but you can't stay long because without drink service it is not enjoyable after an hour or so.. ;-(

Too many kids running around this casino to have to deal with them sober.

I have stayed at Excalibur 3 times and have had a great time every single time! I do not expect luxury. I do expect clean rooms & a good time and have not been disappointed! On this last visit there was a stopped up bathtub drain in our room, we called maintenance, they responded within 15 minutes, fixed it, he called housekeeping to then clean the bathroom, and it was done very quickly. We had a blast! Service was great! We ate several times in the Sherwood Forest Cafe and really liked it. (We did not eat at the Buffet, so cannot comment). love playing Blackjack at the Excalibur---my favorite Dealer is Karen---she is so much fun!!!! I have stayed at Belaggio, The Mirage, The Aladdin, The Flamingo Hilton (many years ago)and The Golden Nugget as more 'upper class' hotels for comparison----and I have had MORE FUN at the Excalibur. If I am going for luxury, then I stay at a different hotel. When I am going for fun, I stay at the Excalibur! I have always had clean rooms and great service!

great value definatlly reserve your room online to save a ton! I also really enjoyed the quick check in machine it took secounds to check in and out. Ordered champagne from room service only they never picked up the tray. The casino waitresses kinda ignored us too but thats the only negative. We played in the arcade like gambling but with prizes we made a killing! the 3 of us spent 65$ total down there and walked out with over half our souveniers! ROOMS WERE VERY CLEAN ALSO! I also won over $300 on the slots in less than a hour. GREAT STAY!

(Original July 2004 comment) We stayed here last year (2003) but this time we just went to play in the casino and eat breakfast at the buffet. Last year we had the dinner buffet which was bad but this year I was pleased with the breakfast buffet. The price went up, as did just about every buffet on the strip but at least the food was good this time, had some flavor and there was quite a variety. Didn't play a lot of slots but had a good time. This is a big casino and the King Aurther theam throughout the resort was nicely done. Well worth a visit to play the games and check the casino out.
9-25-05 update. My brother and I came out here for the PGA convention and since he never stayed at the Excalibur he wanted to give it a try. Rates were good, roomes were the same as I rememered from 2 years ago. Rooms were always very clean (more so that New York New York where I stayed 2 months ago) but they are more economy rooms. You won't find safes in the room, or bathtubs either, just a shower. Had a great view of the strip but if I have any comment it is about the promptness of some cleaning and fixing. Although the room itself was always cleaned promptly, it took room service more than 24 hours to clean a dirty tray on the floor outside a room up the hall, the pop machine was jammed on floor 22 of tower 1 and it took more than 2 days after being reported for it to be fixed. The first day I was able to view my room account and the Excalibur in house channels on the TV but after that I could not view them - they wouldn't work and I was not even able to use room check-out. The Castle theam is always relaxing, takes you out of the real world and feels good. It's a large casino with good variety of slots and the location is perfect. Recommend the Excalibur as long as you are aware ahead of time not to expect luxury. Rooms are on par with Holiday Inn but well kept and clean. Advice - since the price went up again, skip the buffett and find a better one. Food is basic. For only $3.50 more we had the Bellagio breakfast the second day and it was 100 times better.

We visited over the Labor Day weekend so I was expecting the place to be extremely crowded. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't. Parking in the self park area was easy, we never had trouble finding a place close to the hotel. Check in at the self check in/out kiosk was speedy. I wish more hotels had this available. Room service was great! (one of the high points I must say). We ordered our meal and had it served hot and quite quick. The portions were huge (we both ordered the open faced turkey sandwich) and neither of us could finish the entire meal. The price for what we got was not that bad. My only low point is the buffet. Both of us got sick after we ate there. The selections were lacking and what they did have was not cooked to my liking (runny scrambled eggs, overcooked omelets, undercooked meat...need I say more). And the price for what we got was way too high. The only positive thing to say about the buffet is that we didn't have to wait at all. I might stay here again if I could get a good price for the room.

The Excalibur is one of if not the best bargain in Vegas. We have stayed there on numerous occassions and have always been treated with the greatest respect. Like any place there are "Do's and Don'ts"
DO use express check in. This is such a great service. No long lines to wait in. Just call ahead on the day of your arrival, give them the necessary information and faster than a lick you are on your way to your room. If you are renting a car DO use valet parking as these guys are the best. DO use housekeeping for your extra needs. We alsways leave $3.00 per day on the piullow and all our needs are taken care of. DO frequent the casino. Slots are all over the place and over the years we have found them user friendly. DO join the One Club as the benefits add us quickly. Do treat yourself to Sir Galahad's for the best Prime Rib in the area. DO traet staff in a friendle manner and see how well you get treated. DO gi to the tournament of Kings Dinner show. A Vegas must.
DON"T go to the buffet unless you have cupons and even then I'd be careful. There are many better buffets in town. DON'T use Sherwood Forest unless you are not in a hurry. Food is above average but service tends to be on the slow side.

As others have stated, if you are bringing kids with you, this might be the place for you. However, if you are not with kids, I would look elsewhere. I did not care for the "zoo" like atmosphere. Kids seemed to be everywhere. I expect to see kids and families in Vegas, but kids do not belong on the casino carpet! I found the Roundtable Buffet to be below average, and it was not worth the long wait in line. I would not stay here at Excalibur again.

Hotel Room was clean, very easy to get to, overall, very good for the price. Lots of Children here, it is family friendly so if you are there to gamble and party, you might think twice about this property. Buffett was average going price, service was good but you have to walk a lot to get to different areas such as the drink station or the dessert station. After eating there twice it all began to taste the same. Coffee and Soft Drinks are very expensive out in the Hotel, $2.50 starting price. No coffee in the room, no microwave or fridge either so be prepared to pay for your morning brew. The pool was nice, but there again, lots of children. Slots are very tight here, but won at the Tropicana across the street. The location is a bit out of the way for someone who doesn't want to walk too far, the monorail is across the street at MGM, but a long walk to get to. You can get to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay through moving walkways which is nice....if you can figure out how to get there. I most likely won't stay here again, the money saved at the Hotel was lost on food and drinks which I thought too expensive. The old Vegas rules of cheap eats are not around anymore so if you haven't been there in a while, you might consider staying downtown where the old Vegas still lives.

My first visit to Vegas was June of last year and i will be going back this coming Saturday with my brother who first introduced me to Excalibur. Iam soooo excited...I thought the service was excellent at Excalibur. The rooms were average standards which i really don't care about too much since i knew i would be spending very little time in my room, VERY CLEAN. I had a great time. Check in and out only 5 minutes, my brother had VIP service since he stays there quite a bit. The staff was very friendly and always helpful to me. Alot complain about the dim lit hallways and rooms, but i actually LOVED the intimate dim light setting that you would experience in a real castle. A romantic setting if you ask me. Iam a castle fanatic. I also felt very safe staying there. It was accessable to the other Hotels if you ever got bored there, which i didn't. This time my rooms will be free since i built up quite a bit of comp points from my last stay. Can't beat that. I love the food at Sherwood Forest cafe since it was reasonably priced, excellent, and open ALL nite. My only complaint if i had to think of one would be the kids as everyone else pointed out. Vegas is no place for kids. You could spend the same amount of money at Disney world for a true family vacation. It is annoying when kids are left unattended. One child running wildly ran into me and fell on the floor, started crying, and the mom looked at me like i threw her son down. CONTOL YOUR KIDS PPL...Whether you like it or not, Vegas is an adult theme, just like Disney would has a children's theme. If you choose to bring your children to a gambling city, you need to have them at your side 24/7...If you complain about that, then leave them at home. If you must take them, maybe Circus Circus would be better suited for the kid atmosphere. I agree with others, Vegas is no place for very young uncontrolable children. Other then that, i can't blame Excalibur for Parents...Also it really would be nice to have safes in the rooms, and also bath tubs, as i love relaxing in a nice hot bath to unwind...But honestly folks, you can't go wrong with this place for the price, safety and nice staff...Remember this, we all have bad days, so if you encounter what you feel is a rude staff member, ask yourself how many times have you had a bad day at work and did not treat others very well...I can think of many times myself and i'm in the medical field where we have to smile and act as if we have no problems in the world ourselves. Try Excalibur, you'll love it....The price, atmosphere, food, safety. Lose yourself in time. THANK YOU EXCALIBUR!!!!!!!

YIKES! I GUESS IT'S NOT THHHAAAAT BAD FOR THE MONEY. CONS: THE HALLS ARE DARK, THEY LEFT DISHES FORM THE PEOPLE WHO HAD THE ROOM BEFORE IN FRONT OF OUR DOOR FOR 2 DAYS, THE CASINO SUCKS, NO NIGHT LIFE, THERE WERE STRANGE STAINS ON MY HEADBOARD, BAD VIEW, LONG LINES FOR TAXIS (BECAUSE NOBODY WANTS TO HANG AROUND THERE), COULDN'T TELL ANYONE WHERE WE WERE STAYING, THE NAME, STINKY. PROS: QUICK CHECKIN, BIG BATHROOM, HOUSEKEEPING WAS GOOD & FRIENDLY (THEY TOOK CARE OF THE STAINS ON MY HEADBOARD), GOOD SECURITY, WINDOWS OPEN, TRAM AND WALKWAYS TO LUXOR AND MANDALAY BAY, MCDONALDS IS SOOO CHEAP, BEDS OK, GOOD PRICES IN WINE SHOP, NEVER REALLY THERE ANYWAY. HOPE THIS HELPS :)

The Excalibur is no Bellagio but some of us out there don't care. If you're looking for a clean room and shower to take care of basic necessities so you can spend more time gambling, this is the place! Who wants to spend an exhorbitant amount of money on a room if you don't spend any time there? Not me!

This was our second visit to Vegas and first stay at Excalibur.
Used express check in and it went smoothly and quickly, finished in 5 minutes, we optted to have a room with a view of the Strip and were moved from a 3rd floor room to a 17th floor room. Great view from there.
Room was very clean, bathroom also very clean. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. (I stayed somewhere before and a bag of bricks would have made a better pillow). No complaints at all.
Pool was clean, sometimes hard to find chairs, but just finagled empty chairs to an area we wanted to sit in.
One day we left our room key in our room by mistake and once we reported to the security guard what we had done, he had someone meet us at our door within 3 minutes to let us in. (he did check the computer to make sure it was our room)
Didn't gamble much in this casino, but did bet in sports room. Free drinks while watching games were great. Waitress was fast and efficient.
Ate breakfast at the Roundtable Buffet and thought everything was perfect,
one thing I questioned was the fact that I was on the internet checking prices and it was advertised as 6.99, but when we gotten there it was actually 10.99.
all other meals were increased in price compared to the internet price.
We were told by the cashier the prices haven't been at that price in years, and that was it!
Rented a vehicle and had no problem finding parking at the 'Calibur's Lot.
(Once you learn your way through the Luxor and Mandilay Bay's entrance's to get to the back of the Excalibur, parking is a piece of cake)
Speaking of desert, the Banana Splits were great at the ice cream shop towards the Tower II entrance.
Everything was great and we would defininately stay again.
Everyone we talked to were very nice and always helpful when we would stop them and ask for directions or reccommend a place to visit.
Did talk to one guy who showed me a cetificate for 100,000 comp points and couldn't even get a free meal out of the place.
But we had no problems!

How bad is this DUMP I would not stay here again for free. The worst service that I have ever had at any hotel anywhere. The casino has a bunch of rotten rules. The only positive is the poker room. Stay anywhere but here. Unclean room bad service on all fronts. I would write more but I can not without using 4 letter words. THIS PLACE SUCKS STAY AWAY

Visited the Excalibur with my mother (62 years old) who loves to play the slots. I was REALLY concerned after reading some of these posts, but I was pleasantly relieved. I would definitely return for a repeat visit.
*Arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday night. No lines, self-check in was easy.
*Received coupons for online hotel registration as promised on the website.
*Requested and received a room not too far from the elevators. (Hallways are long).
*The room and bathroom were large and CLEAN, the beds were comfortable. Shower was large, no bathtub.
*Room with view of the strip was worth the extra $10.
*A/C / heater was a bit noisy. However, we were able to just shut it off and be comfortable b/c of the mild temperature (approx 60 degrees in Feb)
*Housekeeping comes by early, so leave your "do not disturb" sign on the door. Housekeeper went to another room @ our request and came back when we asked her to.
*Hotel has only Pepsi products...no Coke!
*Tower II is not too far from the food court (McDonald's, Pizza Inn, Chinese)
*Slots were tight one night, loose the next. Paid well on the second night. Waitresses walked around and served drinks pretty regularly. Tropicana has loose slots.
If traveling with an older person or someone who doesn't like to, or cannot walk far, the Tropicana, NY NY and the MGM Grand are reasonable walks.
*Excalibur staff was pleasant.
*The ONLY drawback...cheerleading competiton was in town, one morning at about 3:00am, teenagers ran down the hall screaming and banged on the doors (not the hotel's fault, rather the chaperones'). Called the front desk and security arrived within 4 minutes and caught the idiot, ill-mannered, spoiled-brat teenagers.
*Buffet food was ok...not the best, not the worst. Had McDonal's every morning (best bang for your buck).
Enjoy your stay!

The Excalibur was great. I had a great time and so did my friends. Family Friendly?? It is if the security would let the kids be a bit more free, yeah they need to keep them out of the casino area, but when you walk in, thats where everything basically is... Open floor casino and you gotta pass through to get to any and everything. Great midevil theme and the show was cool too, the food great, even though it was a bit expensive.

A good deal for the price. A good location, even though we spent alot of time further down the strip and had a hike. And we just loved the fact we stayed in a castle- laughed everytime we walked towards it.
the rooms were big and nice for the price- similar to a Marriott level. Sure i would have loved to have stayed at the Bellagio, but this is what I could afford and I was pleased by it

On Tues, November 16th, I arrived from my flight by taxi and was checked in by a staff member who was polite, however, didn't seem too cheerful. I figured everyone has a bad day or a day where they'd rather be elsewhere. My room was 12234 and I found it to be quite accomodating. The large bathroom was very nice, the open closet, dresser, Internet (which I decided not to use), message system proved useful and/or accomodating. Easy access to my room from the elevator (very short walk) and the peacefulness of my room were added bonuses.
The staff at The One Club Desk and Shows/Attractions Desk were nice, friendly and personable. I especially love the late check-out special as well as the free baggage storage so you can do other things without worrying about your luggage. The grounds, shops, restaurants and casino floor were all well-kept.
I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who is not looking to spend half their account balance on their hotel room.
The Tournament of Kings, at first thought, was a little pricey - however, when you realize the show, meal, and gratuity is included in the price, it's really a good deal! The staff members and atmosphere was awesome and we had a great time!

A person should always keep in mind that people like different things...use the facts to make a solid decision...the opinion is to only show you the pro's and con's of a person's perception.

Our stay at the Excalibur almost ruined our wedding. We had reserved a jacuzzi king room not knowing that you literaly had to walk a mile to get there. When you enter the room, the sewer smell hits you like a ton of bricks. After dinner at their below average buffet, I took a shower before heading to get our marriage license. The blow dryer was broken-cracked head and you could feel the electricity thru the handle. My husband called and they promply sent housekeeping with a replacement in a box. The man from housekeeping said something to me but I could not understand his broken english. I opened the box to realize that it needs to be installed inorder for it to work. Another call to get engineering to install. The following day, the smell did not get any better so engineering back to room to plunge the shower. He left a mess that my mother cleaned before showering after a trip to the pool. Once back from a family dinner, the smell was still there. My husband went to the desk and they upgraded us to a suite. After an hour and three more phone calls, a bellman finally arrived to move our luggage. We took a nice relaxing jacuzzi only to find that when you drain the jacuzzi, it drains back into the shower along with the sewer smell and black mold coming out of the drain. In a supposed $450. a night suite, we wore shoes in the shower. Upon check out we were credited with almost $200. due to the problems but it just was not worth the hassle. After speaking with 4 different managers, you would think that one of them would make a courtesy follow-up call to our room, but since Customer Service is not in the vocabulary of the Excalibur-I guess not.
I felt guilty because I booked the room and suggested to my brother and his family to stay there as well as my in-laws. Their stays were not quite as bad but not without any problems either. The beds in my in-laws rooms were horrible. They were replaced on the second day of their stay. The toilet ran and the fan in the bathroom of my neice's room did not work. My brother's jacuzzi suite was about the best of the rooms however they did have a problem with the toilet stopping up as everyone was dressing for the wedding.
Overall, I would NEVER wish my worst enemy to stay at this place.

This is my third time here we stayed for 13 days from the 6th of sept.Checkin was about 20 minutes not too bad we requested a room with a view over the mountains and pool on a high floor and were given it they did ask if we wanted a strip view at 10 dollars extra but i prefer the back in tower 2 thay did try saying that this view was extra to which i told them that it never had been in the past and so was given the room at extra charge (there should be no extra charge for any view apart from the strip). We got a special rate of 39 dollars for mon-thurs 79 for sundays 99 and 119 for the weekend which was really great value. The pool was nice not too crowded. They have built a spa where the old jacuzzi was and built another jacuzzi which isnt quite as nice as the old one. The buffet was better this year the food was hot and quite tasty and with the 2 for 1 coupon they gave upon check in a very good deal. The new walk way to the mandalay bay is very good although the shops arn't up to much.
If you have the one club card from the excalibur it is worth pointing out that you get points alot faster in the bay and luxor than you do in the excalibur
I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone the rooms are not fance but they are large and clean, and the casino is very friendly

This was our first trip to Las Vegas..it was our 20th anniversay..After looking at the reviews of this hotel, I was nervous, to see what will happen..The line wasn't long for check-in. our room wasn't ready for about 2 hours, but that was alright with us. It gave us time to scope out the hotel. It was amazing. We will stay there again..Our room was very clean, the slots were great to me..the food was great. The only thing is that it was very cold in the casino, so bring a sweatshirt. And the cocktail waitress didn't come around very often, but that was alright, the bartenders helped.. The Bellhops, were very helpful of what to do, and where to go, and how to get there. The check-out lane was alittle long, but the line went down fast, the longest that we waiting was about 15 minutes. Everyone was very helpful, and very pleasant..It was a very good trip to Las Vegas, can't wait to go again next September!!

Arrived at the Excalibur on Monday 13th,for 10 days, checked in and were given a room in Tower one, room number 14157. At check in I asked for a nice room with a nice view, as we had come from a long way from England. I was told that the room that was allocated for me was at the back side of the hotel, looking out over a court yard with the wall of Tower 2. For a room with a view it is an extra $10 per night, so I said ok. Got to the room, and opened the curtains, and the view was off the Airport and runways.

The only bad side, or downside of the hotel was the hallway from the lift to the rooms. The hall was very dark. The lights in the hallway could have been a bit brighter, and that also goes for the rooms too.

I throughly enjoyed my stay here, the food here was good, the service was also good. The room was nice, though basic, had a big Shower in the bathroom, no bath.

Casino was nice, played on the slots and tables, though did not win. I would definately recommend you to join there One club players card. You get better comps and cashback with the One card, than you do with an MGM Mirage club players card. If you are on a sort of budget, then this hotel is for you, especially if you book on there web site.

This was our first trip to Las Vegas and I not recommend a stay at Excalibur. The first room we were given had not been cleaned since the previous guest had checked out. After a 45 minute wait for the bellman to bring keys to a different room, we found that there were still guests in the room! Someone was sleeping in the bed. After a long walk back through the casino to the desk, were given a third room. The clerk said, "don't worry, third time's a charm". Well it wasn't. The sink didn't drain, the toilet flushed constantly and there was a hum/whine coming up through the floor that sounded like there was a vacumm cleaner on in the room. Next day I asked to speak to the hotel manager in hopes of getting a nice room. When I told her our problems, all she said was, "That's whay my clerks are for" and transfered me back to the desk. We checked out a got a room at the Luxor.

We stayed here 8/14 through 8/18. Walked in and saw the check-in line and almost fainted. Our trip would be over before the check-in process was over. Wife says we are comped and suppose to go to the Kings Window. Only 5 people in line there. It still took 45 minutes to get to the clerk. She looks up my name and says "I'm sorry-you an invited guest-go to VIP services to check in". That was a wasted 45 mintues. Go to VIP and in and out in 5 minutes. Walk out and look at the poor souls in the regular check in. Our rooms were 27101 and 27107 in tower 1 out of 28 floors. The rooms seemed spacious and clean. No bathtub but very large showers. T.V. has limited channels. The rooms were at the end of the hallway, a long walk. The pool is at tower 2 so if you plan on swimming that is something to keep in mind. Otherwise it is a long walk to the pool. Kids loved the gameroom. Take lots of money because they sure burn through it. Food court only had 4 places to get sandwichs. Pass on the buffet, we handed out our passes to other people. Only had two tables of two deck pitch blackjack. The rest of the hand dealt games were the horrible single deck 6-5. Might as well throw you money out of your hotel window. Overall a pleasant stay.

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel for his 21st birthday. I had this vacation planned for over a year! We arrived to the hotel by limo (special birthday treat for him), and were instantly greeted by the bellhop who promptly escorted us to the front desk (very friendly!). We checked in in less than 5 minutes! Our room didn't have a strip view (I didn't ask for one) but it had an awesome view of the pool! It was a very comfortable room with a big shower, big bed, clean as can be! I loved the theme of this hotel. It was actually very romantic. What girl doesn't want to pretend to be a princess for a week! The tournament of kings show was terrific! A must see! The only downside were the kids! I understand that the Excalibur is supposedly a "family" hotel, but seriously folks, Vegas is NOT a place for kids! LEAVE THEM AT HOME! I, horribly, had a very scary emergency at home and had to leave the castle two days early and the front desk was very helpful and very sympathetic. I would love to stay at this place again! LOTS OF FUN!

Nice hotel~ was a very fun experiance. I just don't like how the only way to your room(tower 1 or tower 2) is going all the way through the casino all the way in the back of the building to go to your elevators~which there are only 7 for each tower~very crowded

we stayed here for three nights. the service was excellent and all the employees were friendly. our kids enjoyed the castle theme, the pool was very nice, and the internet room price was fantastic. the casino/hotel layout was not very good. only gambled one night and although i broke even, i would've considered it a winner if i came close to getting a drink! there was not much waiter/waitress service in the casino for anyone. stay there-gamble elsewhere.

Every year I come to las vegas for a week. I am going again in April 2005 and was
looking for good restaurants and thought I would see what people have to say about the
Excalibur. I was shocked!!!
I have been taking family vacations to vegas since I was 11...I am almost 25! I have
stayed in Circus Circus once..my first trip...ever since then its been the Excalibur. My
mom and I now go every year as a vacaton and catch up time since we live so far apart.
The Excalibur is an awesome hotel! It has great rates, great people working there, great
casino, great shows, and a great spa and workout room!
The people who are commenting on the bad stay at the Excalibur due to kids...hello
people...its a castle! KID FRIENDLY!!! Vegas has more too it than adult entertainment!
For those that complain about smoking...I hate smoking too...but people...ITS A CASINO!!
For those that complain about the long walk to the room from the check in counter...what
are you lazy!!! Its like a 3 minute walk!
For those that complain about the $1.00 charge for a phone...Please people...its a dollar!
For those that complain about flys or sewege or no clean room...I've never seen or
smelled an of the above!
Folks...Excalibur is in a prime location...has a great one club used at several other
hotels...has a one of the largest casinos. I have never...nor any family member been
unhappy about a stay there.
Its a vacation spot...you will have to wait in line...you won't have something done excactly
when you want it.
I look at excalibur as a great bargin. I get an awesome room with big savings...savings I
can put in the slot machine!
Besides...if you are in vegas and spending more than an hour in your room to get ready
in the morning and a good 7hrs sleeping...get the hell out of vegas! You should be out
and about enjoying all it has to offer!
Take it from someone who has been staying there half her life...STAY HERE! Why pay a
hundred dollars or more to stay in a room you are hardly in?
Is all I got to say is those negative comments sounded like they came from prissy people
who think the world revolvoes around them! Guess what? IT DOESN'T!
Its a great hotel...take my word for it!!!!
Oh..and go to the Sherwood Forrest Cafe...have a banana split on me!

We had stayed at the Excalibur 18 mo ago. It was our first time in Vegas and we did enjoy that visit but this time we brought along our family - all over 21 - infact we celebrated our youngest ones 21st b-day. We had three rooms - none with any view - our rooms air cond wasn't working and apparently the previous hotel guests had complained of the same thing. One of our daughters rooms had a horrible smell and the bathroom sink was backed up. Maint. came up and plunged the sink leaving all this black residue for housekeeping to clean up when they got up to the room. It also seemed this time that the desk/reservation area workers were rather rude. It was like they either didn't want to be there or didn't want to work with you. And people need to learn that Vegas is not a place for children especially at 10-11pm at night.
Hope your trip will be better thatn this one. The worst part is that the Excaliber not only lost one set of customers but three since my family feels the same way.

Had not stayed here for years buy my youngest had reached her 21st. birthday so I thought this would be a nice place for her. Pleased with the room and service and the view of Luxor was nice. Do not have anything to say bad but did not want to try the buffet due to the forced line to get your food. Pool was nice but had to walk to tower 2 from tower one.

After reading some of the reviews, I was expecting a dungeon atmosphere, but was pleasantly surprised. The hallways were on the darkish side, but it's supposed to look like a castle. Our room was not brand new, but was clean, didn't smell, and everything worked. Loved the huge shower. Our view was of a wall, but we weren't in our room much anyway, so that didn't bother us, especially since we were on the 4th floor, so didn't have long elevator rides to the ground floor. We were attending several functions at the Mandalay Bay, and the free tram was invaluable since it was 106 degrees while we were there. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. We used the Kings Express Check-In which saved us from standing in a long check in line. And we used the express check out feature on the TV. We were in a block of rooms booked for a group, and our rate was excellent for what we were told was the most expensive weekend for hotel rates ever in the city. We would definitely stay there again as Excalibur is in a great location on the Strip.

Wow-Could not believe this place gets 3 or 4 stars! From whom? Rooms were dusty, and mine had a candy wrapper from a previous guest on the nightstand! I was LUCKY- My sister's room had Undies, Yup Yikes--Undies left behind from a previous guest on the floor by the bed. ATTENTION HOUSEKEEPING! You need to clean rooms differently when there are new guests coming in!!!! A fun place for gaming, and one of the few that actually gives out cocktails--just don't stay there!!!!

I read all the comments, but we decided to see for ourselves. We were driving to Las Vegas and arrived a day early. The Excalibur was very helpfull in getting us the extra day for the same price as our other days. The halls were dimly lite, but thats the castle. We had trouble with the tv and it was fixed right away. The pool was not as crowded as many have said, and the poker room was great. The slots were also pretty loose. The best was when we arrived back home, we left our personal phone book in the room. It took us two days to realize it. My wife called the Excalibur and with in two days the book was in the mail to us. Will stay there anytime. Great service, great people

I was skeptical about staying here after reading all the comments, but my family and I decided to stay anyway because of the price and location. I am so glad we did! The room was your typical motel-style room, but a little larger than an ordinary motel. The extra-large shower was a nice feature! Sure, the water pressure in the shower was not great, but that's because they have water flow restrictors in the shower heads. Las Vegas IS in the midst of a drought, you know! The beds were comfortable, and the TV worked fine for us. One of the drawers stuck a little in the dresser, but that was because a previous guest had spilled something sticky on the edge, and the sticky stuff acted a little like glue. The housekeeping staff would have no cause to open the drawers to discover this, so they can't be faulted for it. The only problem we had with the room at all was the fact that the toilet tank must have had a small leak, because the water ran on and off all the time. Maintenance was there right away to fix it after I called. We had a second room (for our college-age kids), and the only fault they found with the room was not having enough soap one day. Once we called housekeeping, they had all the soap they needed.

The casino was just fine, after we figured out the layout. Actually, it was one of the less confusing casino layouts in town! We didn't find the slot machines to be any tighter or looser than anywhere else, and the dealers at the table games were nicer than a lot of the other casinos we visited. We were especially grateful for the group of table games that was designated as non-smoking! (HINT TO OTHER CASINOS: This is a great idea! Non-smokers gamble, too!)

We ate at the buffet one night, but we got there about three minutes before they were closing. The standard procedure at Excalibur is to close the doors to additional guests 30 minutes before they remove all the food from the buffet lines. The food was okay, but we didn't feel the urge to eat there again. Perhaps it was because it was so late, but the prime rib was overdone, and the selection of regular desserts was very meager. There was an abundance of sugar-free desserts, but they didn't appeal to us at all. For the price, though, we really can't complain. (Especially when we ate at another hotel's buffet that cost $5 per person more, offered a much smaller selection of foods, and tasted very blah. We suspect that it was the crab legs there that caused us to get sick later that evening!) Had we gotten there earlier, I'm sure it would have been a lot better.

Over all, we were very pleased with the Excalibur. There were more children there than at other hotels, but parents should be held accountable for their children's behavior, not the hotel at which they stay. Excalibur offers a lot of diversions for children, so they do try to keep the children - and the visitors without little kids - happy. We would definitely stay there again!

Didn't stay here, but stopped in to play some slots.

The casino is nice, however, seemed the machines needed to be wiped down. Seemed dirty and greasy. Ick!

Would visit again..but do not like the amount of kids. I don't care what the casino theme is....VEGAS IS NOT FOR KIDS! Why on earth do people feel Vegas is a good place for a family vacation? Maybe in a Chevy Chase movie, but not in reality. KEEP YOUR KIDS AT HOME! DISNEY DISNEY is far better choice then Vegas were there is gambling, drinking, porn on the streets. I think the entire strip should enforce a 21 and older rule. Ugh!

The major turn off to hotels like NY NY, Excalibur, Circus Circus (which is a dump anyways) and MGM is the amount of stroller pushing and kids running around. I go to Vegas to get away from my kids for a few days and have some adult time. Yikes people!

Stayed at the Excalibur May 23-May 26. I was a bit nervous after reading some of the comments, but there was nothing wrong with the hotel at all. The line for check-in was a bit long (we waited maybe 1/2 hour), but the line moved quickly. We upgraded to a nice Tower 1 room (view of NY NY/MGM). The room was clean (and cleaned nicely every day).

Restaurants - we ate at Regale one evening - food was very good. Sherwood Forest Cafe - good food. Buffet - we ate there our first night and vowed to not go back again. Very confusing buffet and lots of items looked liked they'd been sitting there for a while. Krispy Kreme was a big hit for morning (and midnight!) snacks.

Pool was small and very packed, but we were able to find chairs in the afternoon.

All personnel that we came in contact with were helpful.

What a pit. Shabby is too good a description. I saw on another website for Vegas that the Excalibur was given 4 star rating. Somebody is getting paid off for that! Our first room; we couldn't get in because the key didn't work so off we go for another mile long hike to the front desk. Got new keys, got in the room. Ugly and brown about describes it. The bathroom sink didn't drain, the fan in the windowless bathroom was broken, and 3 of the 5 lightbulbs in the room were burned out. Yuck. We complained. They moved us to another room in the second tower. An exact duplicate! OK the light bulbs all worked but the bathroom sink looked like some guy had dumped his electric razor hair in it and it was all stuck to the sink, which didn't drain! Terrible decor, depressing long dark halls and the pool closed at 5pm (the tiny pool).
The casino was very crowded with LOTS of small children everywhere. Noisy, hard to get around. We didn't eat there, would not have even tried. We ate twice at the Mirage Buffet which was about the BEST food I have ever had. Top of the line all the way.
I would never stay at the Excalibur again unless it was free.

I just returned from my vacation to Las Vegas, everytime I go I try to stay at a different hotel. I should have known by the long wait at check in on a Wednesday morning that this place would be the on my do not return list. It took 1 1/2 hours just to make it to the check in desk. I had made my reservations a month ago and asked for a view of the strip, I was informed at the front desk that they charge an extra $10 a night for this type of room. I asked if there was anything else that was different except for the view and was told no. They also charge for the privilege of having a phone (even if you don't use it). I figured things would get better, but was wrong. Everything I went to do there was either full of little kids or had a huge line. I would expect this if I had stayed over the weekend, but the middle of the week was a little nuts. Most of the kids parents were not watching their children and they were running all over the place. Security did not keep the kids out of the gambling areas. The machines were very tight. I do have to say that the Tournament of Kings was wonderful and so was Jeff Hobson's Money and Madness Show.

We stayed here for 3 nights/4 days mid week. Mostly had a great time. Room was clean (4 of us for a girls-getaway weekend), when asked maid service for extra towels & ashtrays, were quickly supplied. Rooms were cleaned early and done very well. We only were in the room to shower and sleep. We did rapid check in - called from the airport at 10 AM and were told our room would be ready at 11. Check in was quick but employee was snooty - she needed an attitude adjustment. Didn't notice too many kids. Gaming tables were great. Most dealers were friendly and helpful. Slots were a little tighter than our first visit 2 years ago. Buffet was ok, needed a little more seasoning. Didn't get to see any shows. We used the monorail and tram to get to Luxor - best invention since the washing machine! Hint - TAKE COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES!!! It may look like it's on the next block, but the next block is 2 miles away - haha. Comps seemed a little tighter, but all-in-all would stay there again. Enjoy your stay!

We booked our rooms 2 1/2 months in advance, it was a Christmas Present to me from my boyfriend. Non-smoking, King size bed. When we arrived at 2:55 P.M. after flying in the receptionist asked why we had not called 1 hour ahead. We booked and paid for the room 2 1/2 months earlier and no where on our confirmation letter was a request to call an hour before checking in. We heard other making rude comments about other guests. Our room was not ready, so they gave us non-smoking, 2 queen beds. We went up to the 28th floor to our room, which was not clean, left our bags and came back 3 1/2 hours later to still a dirty room. I called housekeeping and 30 minutes later someone came and cleaned the room from the last guest. The next day they never showed to clean the room or give us new towels, and we stayed out over 7 hours to give housekeeping plenty of time. The food was bad. When we checked out, they charged us a $1 a day just to have a phone in the room, that we never picked. We used our cell phones to make all calls. The staff said it was a routine charge, just to have the capability of using their local calling service, whether used or not. I have stayed in many hotels and they usually make you feel at home, not here. Exaclabur needs to hire friendly staff, the ones they have now are cold and rude.

This is NOT the place to visit if you have young children (under 12). We loved the pool! However people smoke in the casinos, and I relize that's just the way it is, but they should offer a route that you can travel through the hotel so you don't have to pass though the casino with small children, the Circus-Circus has such an arrangement. Also check-in was at least an hour long, but contrary to the other reviews the person that helped us was quite friendly. Overall it was worth the $69 we paid but not a penny more! If you plan to visit and don't mind paying the extra money for a big hotel do yourself a favor and stay near the central part of the strip, places like Ceasar's, Mirage and TI.

When we entered from the parking lot, we ran into flys at the entrance. Every time we entered or left after that there were flys to the parking lot. They were there for the garbage. Long lines to check in. Small and dark rooms. Small windows. Way too many kids. If you have kids, stay here, because they are all here. The pool isn't bad but there are way too many kids to enjoy it. Stayed in the tower next to NY/NY and all we heard was the Manhattan Express.

The casino was very crowed and small. Our room was smelly from the stale smoke smell.
Tournament of Kings dinner show was awesome and worth the money. Would stay here again because it was cheap. The pool was very newat as well. However, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE CHILDREN, they were EVERYWHERE. I personally think Vegas isn't for kids, but if you are going to bring them I recommend this place.

Folks, dont listen to the people bashing this place. I will tell ya what, I was tired when I got to Vegas! It was so nice to find a nice clean room and we upgraded for $10 dollars a night to a nice strip view room! We really enjoyed our stay. Had alot of fun in the casino. Had good luck at the blackjack tables and roulette! My wife won a little from the slots. But hey....we were there to do just that....have fun!!! WHO CARES if some stuff looks a little worn around the edges. I didnt see ANYTHING that looked bad to me. We spent LITTLE time in our room anyway cause we was having so much fun running around! So if you plan or want to stay at Excaliur?? GO FOR IT....its a nice place at a good price, comfortable rooms with huge showers, (my wife and I had fun conserving water):) and close to everything....or you can BLOW your money and stay at the snooty butt places. We went on a Thursday thru Sunday and found our stay pleasant. Good luck and have fun! See you soon Vegas!!!!!!!!

We stayed here with our 11 year old for three nights. It was a great location ont the strip for the price. We stayed in spring during the week. There were tons of kids so my child didn't feel out of place at all. We had fun sightseeing during the day and my husband went downstairs to gamble at night. There are only two complaints I have about this hotel. The parking is not great. It was quite a trek to get out to our car and they have kind of steeps ramps going to the towers. Otherwise it was just fine.

Stayed Thursday Night Feb 26th. Was offered a upgrade to a strip view room for only $10.00, declined offer. Was given a room on the 25th floor (25268) that looked right out the front of the hotel with a fabulous view of MGM Grand. Glad I saved the $10.00.

I got a rate of $39.00 for the night so I had no complaints, except for the buffet. Yuk! Oh yeah, no room safe.

The standard rooms are large with large bathrooms, comfortable beds, a nice sized TV and not much other furniture. The towels are really small and thin, so I used two.

I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here unless I could get a good rate again. The location is wonderful.

Stayed at Excalibur for 1 full week. The service is excellent everywhere, no matter what you ask for. The room is sparsely decorated, not pleasant at all. Everything in the hotel/casino is worn around the edges. They need to revamp and clean up. The elevators were constantly filthy with trash and food, very nasty. Security checks before you get on elevators. Lots of action in casino, but not the kind one really enjoys. For the money you know you get what you pay for. With kids it's ok, but shabby for Vegas. They need to get their act together.

I brought a group to stay at the Excalibur. I think there was some initial skepticism on some in the party, about staying at the Excalibur. All were pleasantly surprised. The check in was smooth. Most of us called ahead and pre checked in. The rooms were clean. The whole group was on the same floor so it made coordinating to leave to our soccer games very easy. Also, we could hang out together. Several of us took the deluxe rooms which was nice for people to party in.

The maid service was great. I know we were rather messy with beer and a alcohol bottles in the room. The beds were made and bathrooms cleaned. We left nice tips.

The casino was great also. We played poker, Black Jack, Craps and other games as well as gambled at the Sports Book.

We liked it so much that we are coming back again in January of 2005 for our annual trek. I think we have 13 rooms this year.

Now with the online check in it will be even easier. Not to mention that the tram/monorail will allow us to go up and down the strip without having to drive. Makes it great for those wanting to drink and not worry about driving.
