Main Street Station Casino Brewery Hotel

Date Visited: 08/08 - Good Visit
Stayed at Main Street Station (MSS) from 9 thru 14 Aug 08. Arrived late (1AM), check in was fast. This was our first stay downtown but will not be our last. The staff at MSS is pretty responsive. The casino is laid out nicely. Had some luck there but better luck at the California next door. You use the MSS players card. We had an odd numbered room on the 5th floor and it was very quiet. The room was basic but the bed was great. Sleep well the entire visit. We don't care about fancy rooms so this one fit the bill - clean, comfortable, good size, and as I said, a great bed. We were tired of staying on the Strip and decided to try downtown and Main Street had sent us free room offers, making the decision easy. My wife has arthritis in her knee and because of all the walking she was in pain. We rented an electric scooter at the hotel and she was able to get around perfectly. I really liked not seeing a bunch of kids running around the hotel and casino; great! We play slots and did most of our playing downtown. Won money at Binion's, the California, and MSS. However, we always drive out to Texas Station whenever we visit LV and always win. The wife hit a %1,675.00 progressive Blazing 7s jackpot. I won over $600 myself. Not bad. In fact between playing downtown and at T-Station, we paid for our trip completely and took home money. Can complain about that. We are middle aged folks and really like the downtown area where you get a good deal for your money. Oh, the buffet was very good at MSS. We had the breakfast and Diner buffets and both were well worth the price. We ate one meal at the 777 Brewery but were disappointed - it took them 3 tries to get our steaks cooked correctly and the final steak was cooked to our order but was tasteless. Oh, well, the good out weighed the bad. Try MSS if you are not into the glits of the Strip.

Whiskey Pete's Hotel and Casino

Date Visited: 08/08 - Bad Visit
The pool closes at 8pm! Both days we were there our children couldn't use the slide due to not enough staff; which we were upset becuase the pool is one of the main ammenities we look at. The food was horrible at the Coffee Shop and at the Greens Buffet. The overall service was disatifying. The staff acted like they really didn't want to be there!

Tropicana Resort and Casino

Date Visited: 08/08 - Good Visit
Stayed at the Tropicana for 6 days and 5 nights, everything went well, check in only took a couple minutes and the room was adequate and clean, which is all we were looing for. Ate alot of meals in the Garden Cafe which stays open 24 hours a day and we actually had to share meals at times because they gave us big portions. Gambled mostly at the hotel (slots) and although we left them alot of money we did have some small wins, but was great entertainment. Did have a small run in with the Players Club in regard to comps but other than that everthing else was fine and we would stay here again.

We stayed at an MGM Skyloft for one night. The costs typically run from $510 on up for one night. We ended up paying $700 for our one night stay on our anniversary. It was well worth it, and the service is top knotch. The butler and concierge staff is over the top and worth every penny. We wrote up a full review complete with pictures at www.omaha-rounders.com/anniversary if you'd like to review more.

Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall

Date Visited: 08/08
Just returned from one week at Sam's Town. Have always stayed on the strip
(for the past 14 years) wanted a change. Mystic Falls was closed, it did reopen on 8/6/2008. The staff was friendly but you soon notice they need to increase the number of staff. A good example at the breakfast buffet, there was only one person making omlets, each day. One day I counted 43 persons waiting in line. The Fresh Harvest Cafe, near Mystic Falls, was always excellant with good food and good service.

Pro: Good Room Rate's and a courteous friendly staff. Fresh Harvest Cafe at Mystic Falls was always good while the buffet was....well a standard buffet. Great movie theater on the property, with all the lastest movies. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Good housekeeping staff.

Con: Casino is very smokey. Limited number of slots in non smoking area, only a few were 25 cent slots no 50 cent slots. Did find a few 50 cent slot in the smoking area (A total of six) The non smoking area was is still smokey. Slots are older models, some of which needs to be replaced.Lots of penny and nickle slots. Mostly video poker. The slots were tighter than the one's on the strip. The pool is small, and located near the pool were dumpters.. which gave off a unplesant smell.. the LV heat. The cocktail service needs more staff.Could also increase security staff.

We did go to the strip which is about six miles away to gamble and came out ahead.

Not sure if we would stay at Sam's Town again, they have cut staff service to save at the expense of their customers.

Mandalay Bay

Date Visited: 08/08
Place is OK but not for high rollers. Dumped about $60,000 on my last two trips and find nothing speacial. Too many kid. No pool to relax at. Spent $450.00 a day for a day bed at pool and it was the worst service. At $650.00 per day private pool could not sit next to wife. Machines are VERY tight. Play $25 and $50 and $500 VP and have not hit one jackpot in two trips. Had to beg for things even as a pretty big player.

There are much better places to stay if you're a player.

If you're 100 lbs overweight have 4 screaming kids and want to get out of your trailer it's the perfect place for you!

Colorado Belle Hotel/Casino

Date Visited: 08/08 - Undecided
We didn't stay overnight at this hotel but we ate the $3.99 breakfast buffet; the waitstaff at the buffet was excellent, the service was fantastic and the breakfast buffet had very good sausage and other hot breakfast items including good grits. The breakfast buffet, though, did not have any small cereal boxes. The seating was comfortable and we had a booth overlooking the river. The outside of the Colorado Belle looks very shabby, though, but surprisingly the inside areas are very clean. The casino's slots were tight. We wandered around and looked at the pool areas; this hotel is probably not a good choice as it looked like the rooms and pool areas definitely needed some serious remodeling.

first time staying at this hotel. great staff, quick check-in. only 6 floors, beautiful room, spacious bathroom. rampart casino attached and gambling gods were great for machine players, not good at all for table games. great pool area, reasonable cabana rental rates and pool open from 8am to 8pm. one problem quickly handled by melissa(wonderful person). ate at spedini(very good) and starbucks on site, no wait at all. dealers very friendly, close to suncoast casino. will definitely stay here again. about a 20 minute drive to the strip which was perfect for us.

They still have a shuttle to the strip not just to a sister property I believe.

This was our second visit to Paris Hotel and both times were Great! It's become our favorite place for value and location. Our room both times was great. Both times had a great view -First time we had view of the strip and second was of the pool where we could also watch the Bellagio Fountains. The Rooms are clean and bathrooms a good size. The staff was very friendly. Defintely one of the friendlist hotels. We like the casino and found ample video poker machines which we enjoy playing and the machines were fairly friendly as well. Buffet was great! Terrific food! Location is great. Walking distance to Ceasear's, Mirage, Harrah,s, Bally's, Venetian and also the tram is a short walk via Bally's. A lot of fun. The pool though not in the league of MGM's pool which is our favorite pool but still the Paris Pool is very nice as the pool is important in our choice of where to stay. If you haven't stayed at Paris. Give it a try. Good food, good service and nice rooms

Paris Las Vegas Resort & Casino

Date Visited: 01/08 - Bad Visit
I had a pleasant stay at Paris in January of this year. However, today I tried to make reservations for my upcoming trip. My wife and I are both Diamond Members and we both have online offers for Paris. The "lady" on the phone gave me a rate of almost $2000 for 9 nights and asked if I wanted to book it. I told her emphatically NO. I asked if we were both Diamond if she couldn't do better. She stated I would have to talk to a casino host and put me on hold. After five minutes on hold I was disconnected.
I then went back online and got my stay booked at Ballys for a little over $300 and three nights at the RIO for $100.
It seems Harrahs doesn't think much of their Diamond Level players. If they don't accommodate their Diamond players beware if you aren't playing at that level. I have emailed them and asked them if they want my play or not. Will wait and see if they respond.

Had its good and bad. At check in let them know it was my birthday and was upgraded to a deluxe room with a balcony on the 19th floor. Unfortunatly the toilet didn't work and the sink and shower were very slow to drain. My travel buddy enjoyed playing spot the underwear while looking down from the balcony, seems lots of people hang theres out the window and it blew away and landed on the roof of the other building.

Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino

Date Visited: 08/08 - Good Visit
Unlike many other Vegas casinos, Imperial Palace is shunning the dry desert non-theme trend of drinks every 4 hours and impersonal non-service that most casino properties seem to be embracing recently.

Gambling is not thirsty work here, in fact the cocktail waitresses were the most efficient of any strip casino I've experienced in the last 2 years. Sobriety was never a problem.

Every employee I encountered was not only friendly and helpful but honestly wanted you to have a good experience. Even the pit bosses were friendly and joked around with players. If you had a players card they took it right away and didn't ignore you like most other properties on the strip. This was on a busy weekend. I'm VERY impressed.

The rooms are older but well kept. My room even passed the bare foot test. My feet didn't get dirty walking around the room barefoot.
You may be surprised at the more expensive places where this test has been failed.

An added Vegas bonus, there was a balcony. Rare in Vegas.

This place attracts a party crowd and there can be some hallway noise. Thats the only downside. But if you are there to party you will fit right in!

Hooters Casino Hotel

Date Visited: 08/08
I just stopped in for the first time yesterday for a few hours. I was very impressed by the friendly and personable guys and gals who work here. It reminded me so much of the 80's and 90's Vegas.

I sat and played for 2-3 hours on my original $20, enjoyed ice cold Michelob, delivered by a Hooters girl, and cashed out at $59(playing mostly penny megabucks).

I am already making plans to stay here next month. If you remember the old Vegas, this is the closest I've found to it.

Mandalay Bay

Date Visited: 03/08 - Good Visit
Check in was a breeze, but as with almost all Vegas Casinos , who state that check in is at 3:00pm, ,
our room was not ready until 2:00pm...no complaints there. Rooms are spacious, clean, but if you
prefer a non smoking room...you need to request it!!! Gambling is on par with most "strip" Casinos, but
the wave pool is the best in town, I visit 2-3 times a year, and have stayed at many of the properties,
and this has to be one of the BEST!!!! My wife demands to go there at least once a year, and she's stayed
@ the Wynn, Paris, Mirage, Hilton, and can not wait to go back to the "BAY". She loves the pool, shops,
and most of all the spa . The Burger Bar @ Mandalay Place is awesome...and reasonable. The casino has
excellent cocktail service, and is very well ventilated, with lots of room to roam around, As with Las
Vegas in general, I strongly recommend leaving the "kids" at home!!!!!!! This is not a Family
environment, but don't get me wrong, but the strip area is definitely an "adult" playground.

Stayed at Venetian many times, not a real big gambler, but they do take care of past customers with free room offers by mail every month to get me back. The Palazzo offered two free nights so we wanted to check it out on this trip. Rooms were large and roomy. Same as venetian but new contemp decor. Staff was helpful and prompt to any needs we had. played quater slots most of time to let them know i was there. Received future rooms comped by mail upon arriving home. I'm a Platium player at harrahs and I can not squeeze a buffet out of them for ten years of loyalty?? Harrahs corp is to large now. Don't need the reg gambler now?? The slots at Palazzo kept you playing for awhile. Spent min amount cash. Grand Lux has great food and is priced right. Lunch and dinner everyday. Pool or should say Pools, are spacious and without the rugrats like other hotels. GO to Disneyland people with the four year olds. Smoke filled casino with booze and hookers, both on the streets and in the hotels is NO place for family of five?? Venetian and Palazzo will recieve my loyalty from now on. try this place, you will not go wrong and they will reward you in future trips.

Luxor Hotel & Casino

Date Visited: 07/08 - Good Visit
We checked in on a Wednesday afternoon and we had no problem with the long lines or anything... I guess we checked in at a time that is normally not busy, so we just walked right up to the desk. They gave us a choice between a king size bed on the 5th floor and two queen size beds on the 24th floor. Needless to say, we took the later.

Positives:
The view of the mountains and the pool was very nice. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My boyfriend accidentally left $100 lay on the bed when we left in the morning... it was there in the same exact spot when we returned. The room was always very clean and toiletries and towels were always kept in good supply. The pool is beautiful... it really doesn't matter if they aren't all open, we spent most of our time in the fountain pool. If you can, rent a cabana! There certainly weren't wanting for anything to do... We went to LAX, Liquidity and Flight, we had dinner in CatHouse and Tender. The food was excellent and the service was prompt. CatHouse had a really cool atmosphere and our waitress was fantastic. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet very much. LAX, Liquidity and Flight were awesome nightlife. The casino was just the right size and we found some really good tables with good minimums. The Spa was clean and calming, our treatments (TRUE Personalized Facial and Gentleman's Facial) were quite relaxing... very good aethetician!

Negatives:
The location was quite far Down-Strip, I would like to be closer to the action on my next visit. Even though we had a non-smoking room, it still smelled a bit like smoke. The Pyramid rooms, although clean and lovely, are starting to show their age. The tram does not stop at Luxor frequently, so may have to wait a while for it to arrive. Even though the spa was nice, it seemed almost like an afterthought in the overall plan of the resort... Like the planners said, "We made a fantastic resort here... S&^%&^%*T!!! We forget the Spa!!!" It was very basic. The pool was kind of loaded with kids, provided there isn't much more for them to do. (Personally, I believe if you're going to spend THAT much money to tak you kids on vacation, take them to Disney World.) There is quite a bit of construction going on, but this didn't bother me all that much, as it means it will be even better on our next visit.

Overall, I loved the resort and would consider staying there again!!!

I stayed there with two other friends. I had originally made the reservation for two people on PH's on-line,
and adding a third, would have increased the cost. When we checked in, the front desk said they would
not charge for the 3rd person. Check-in was quick, even with a line. Service was great and the valet were
very nice (sometimes valet service staff at hotels are not). The best thing about PH is the location and
restaurants, though the changed decor looked great. The mile high shops are right there, and just outside
the front entrance, is a bus stop for the Deuce. Spice Market buffet remains the best food for value. I have
stayed at numerous hotels on the strip and I plan to stay at PH the next time I go back.

The tower rooms are much better than the pyramid rooms but are showing some wear.
There was some old graffiti on the wall outside the bathroom that they had tried to erase but didn't quite succeed in removing.
The casino is still undergoing some renovations. I was there in December 2006 and they were renovating then too. They have a looong way to go before they have all the Egyptian theme removed.

I seem to be allergic to something they use on the sheets. I'm not sure what it is but on all 3 stays here I wake up with a sore throat and scratchy voice.
I like the property otherwise but cannot stay here again because of my allergies.

Excalibur Hotel and Casino

If you have a problem at this hotel, keep your mouth shut! Thats their policy. They will not lift a finger to help and will be annoyed and make snotty comments if you have even a minor problem.

The "renovated" rooms are not much of an upgrade from the older rooms.
The carpet already had threads pulled out all over.
The 42" plasma TV was nice but they do not get a digital signal so it was also a total waste.
The only thing in the bathrooms that was renovated was the granite counter. Everything else was old. The door frame was split to the bathroom. The shower grout was old and gross. They did improve their soap and shampoo.

The new carpets in the halls and elevators are already stained.

The casino isn't as smelly as it used to be but the games stink. I played some spanish blackjack and the cranky pit bosses totally ignored my players club card. I gambled elsewhere and didn't encounter this problem anyplace else.

The security guards at the elevators were not there all the time. Bad security.
The hall was full of marijuana smoke one night. Not quite family friendly as they seem to be catering to broke druggies.

Tower 2 was shut down because of a fire alarm the first day. It was too dangerous for people to go up but they did not evacuate the people in their rooms. Had there been a real fire there would have been a massive tragedy.
People were coming off the elevators and asking what was going on. There was a crowd of 60 people waiting to get to their rooms.
I asked at the front desk what was going on. The front desk manager did not even know what was happening and had to phone security. I asked when it would be resolved and was told by the desk manager, "I don't see that it's MY problem."
Another employee made a snotty comment to me after that.

If there is ever a real fire, you will not be evacuated, you will burn.

My kids wanted to stay at the Excalibur because of its "fairy-tale" setting so during or vacation last year we spent one night. Thank goodness it wasn't more- what a mistake!

The rooms are so small and cramped they could double as closets, and all the efforts of the world from the cleaning staff can't hide the fact that this is an outdated hotel badly in need of a major overhaul. The food at the buffet is expensive and inedible. The pool was so overcrowded we wouldn't let the kids swim in it. And don't even get me started on the employees who yelled every time a child such as put a toe over the "line" dividing the casino from the pathways between the so-called amenities. My advice to anyone traveling to Las Vegas is don't stay here.

Harrah's Las Vegas Casino Hotel

Date Visited: 06/08 - Bad Visit
Harrahs Corp has broght half the hotels on the strip. MGM the other half. That is a very bad situation for us, the customers. MGM by far gives out better service and deals though. My suggestion to you, is stay at a different hotel, than one owned by harrahs Corp. i.e. Venetian, and now the Palazzo. They own one hotel and can give their customers the service and comps, harrahs DOES NOT need to give out anymore. Stayed at Harrahs and IP this time by gambling alot at the local harrahs river boat in KC. IP is a dump but we used our KC comps for the rooms. There are 3 other boats in KC but harrahs is the only one in vegas. There were four of us on this trip, we are all Platium and diamond members and we made the effort to gamble were we stayed, Flamingo ,IP, Rio, Paris, Ballys etc. After two days and nights, we asked for a buffet or two at the IP. We had a total of $32 in comps. We gambled nearly 40 hours and lost over $5500 on slots, BJ, VP and craps. This was i believe our 23th trip to vegas in ten years and the taking care for customers has gone south more and more each year. We all handed in our players cards, asked to be taken off their mail list. Walked over to the venetian, used our grazie cards, was given the normal 700 ft suite for $99. We are all the lowest tier players at venetian and still received at great deal. We do go back and forth on trips to the best deals, but Venetian/palazzo in the past, has and will receive all our business (money) in the future. Back in KC, we will gamble at the Argosy, Ameristar, and Isle of Capri river boats now. As one Harrahs dealer told us, What are you gonna do, Go across the street? We own that one too! I know $5000 to $8000 we gamble twice a year between all of us guys, isn't gonna make or break Harrahs Corp. But, we do show up every year and just wanted some luke warm, stale food for the loyalty. . ? :). oh and we all just received three nights at the Palazzo with $50 slot cash offer after we got home in the mail. See you in March, Palazzo, for the NCAA touney. We're back for good!

We had comped rooms and enjoyed the view of the river.....Beds were ok...I prefer Tropicana Express for comfort, but we decided to check out the Nugget. I can't say I had much luck.....but I played a long time and did not lose anything. They are very good with drink service, coming around constantly and always calling out so you could hear them...my only problem is that to get comp money you really have to run alot through the machines. We will go again but I think we will stay elsewhere.

Stayed in the South Tower. The room was old and beat up. The one thing that I was impressed with was that the cleaning people came in a cleaned up every day which I thought was great until one of them decided to steal my 10 year old daughters bath robe! I had to report the robe missing to 4 different managers before someone finally mentioned filling out a form with security. The managers acted like "Big Deal". It is not that it was a robe-it is the fact that they have cleaning people who CANNOT be trusted in your rooms! Also in the lobby of the casino we witnessed alot of pimp-prostitute activity. The weather outside was hot-of course-"its las vegas"-the swimming pool was FREEZING cold! It was not refreshing-I am talking hypothermia cold! A word of advise-there cleaning help CANNOT be trusted in your room! If they will take a robe that looks cute to them-they would surely take something of real value! You are better off keeping the "do not disturb" sign on the door-so they don't come in and take what they want! I would never-even for the cheap room, stay here again!! ALSO..My husband "for the heck of it" lifted up the matress in the room and the bottom of the matress was covered with blood! It looked as if someone was murdered or a baby was delivered on it! BAD,, REALLY BAD!!!

Overall, I guess our stay at PH was okay. Just okay. The location is great...right across from the Bellagio and close to Paris. It's best attribute is having P.F. Chang's on site. The restaurants are okay. The rooms are okay. The service was okay. The pools were okay. You just expect more than okay when you're in Vegas.

Main Street Station Casino Brewery Hotel

Date Visited: 05/08 - Good Visit
We've stayed at the Main Street Station 15 times for a week at a time. Maybe we're in a rut or maybe this property just feels like home to us. We've always found most of the staff cordial. The car valets, registration clerks, the dealers and floor persons, the servers in the Triple 7 and the Pullman Grille are all accommodating. The housekeepers are usually efficient but do disappear at times and once a dealer, inexperienced as she was, didn't want to pay a A-2-3straight in 3 Card Poker and the florperson had to intervene. These lapses are rare. The casino with it's stained glass windows and high ceilings over the pit has an ambience lacking in ritzier resorts. The Triple 7 has that brewpub vibe and the Pullman Grille is furnished with historic artifacts and has a railway car parked right in the hushed, clubby room. You can take your after dinner coffee and cognac inside it.The Garden Court Buffet is a lovely room for breakfast where you can see daylight and focus your eyes for a day of revellry. I'm sorry to read that edjann from Hawaii had a negative experience from the server in the Triple 7. That's rare.

First visit to Vegas with my family, and while we were attending a wedding, someone entered our hotel room and took money/credit cards! Apparently there are no cameras in the hallways, and security basically called me a liar. I will never stay there again, and for anyone planning to, be sure not to leave money or valuables in your room when you leave. They obviously have thieves working there, and management covers up for them.

We did stay here and we did play here and it was good. The rooms are on the small side but big enough and comfortable.

We are slots players and although we did not win big we did hold our own and had a VERY GOOD TIME. Good drink service even in the low traffic areas where sometime you never see a server.

We had seen the line for the buffet on another visit but this time we decided to eat there and see what the line was all about. The wait was well worth it the food was excellent and the select was also very good. We3 have eaten The cafe on anothe visit and that was also quite good and a very good value. This place is now on our visit again list for Laughlin.

If you have a car, this property is a very nice option for the money. It is similar to Orleans in many respects. The rooms are spacious and clean. It almost seems like there should be more in the room to fill up the space, but all the basics are covered. I did note the casino really smelled smoky, more so than I remember at other locations.

This spa isn't on the ratings list yet, so I'll give my comments here. I only have one other to compare it to (Red Rock) and I would say it is right on par with the "classier" property. I enjoyed a relaxing massage and the spa facilities. The one downside to the spa is the sandals they provide are very uncomfortable. Bring your own if possible.

We stayed from June 22-25 during a period of construction. Despite checking in early at 2:00 PM they gave us a room on the first floor right about the restaurant they were remodeling. Every morning at 8:00 AM we would wake up to pounding. My friend complained and got a free room. I don't know why they stuck us there. It took us a few days to figure out it was the construction.

The rooms are kind of small. I didn't think much of their restaurants. Sometimes the price for their rooms are more expensive than their sister property the Orleans. Now I have stayed at the Orleans a few times and it is definetely nicer than the Gold Coast. I initially booked the Gold Coast for their full pay video poker but they pulled all the machines a couple of days before I arrived. We went over the Palms mostly to gamble. They had better machines.

If you want to stay off the strip and save some money stay at a Stations Casino or the Orleans. Stations and the Orleans have better restaurants, buffets and nicer rooms. I stayed at Boulder Station once and they have better rooms and gambling than the Gold Coast and Boulder is supposedly one of the lesser Stations casinos. Don't waste your money here until they remodel. It is only good stay here if you want to be next to the Palms or Rio but don't want to pay the Palms or Rio room rates.

What have they done to this casino? I use to stay here in preferance to any other hotel on the strip. It is now a sorry site. Who ever decided to change this hotel from the plesent Treasure Island that it was into the HIP TI they think it is now is out of his mind. They have removed the battle bar for a dingy night club, how can that be generating money I have no idea. This latest idea of putting in 1 cent & 5 cent machines in preferance to 25cent & doller machines only goes to prove how hungry the management is. I guess the idea is get the poorest people in and fleece them out of the last penny!!!! Vegas use to be about escapeism for me a place to go and stay in good surroundings after working for a year and let your hair down live a little above your everyday routine good food and plenty of entertainment and Vegas use to offer this. Not any more. TI is a typical example of this the food is plain, the casineo dingy, the COMPS no existant ( we stayed at Caesers but gambled in MGM casinos with the MGM card ran up 6000 points and when I asked about any comps they said get lost as we did not stay at a MGM hotel) they can kiss my patronage goodbye. So can Las Vegas I think I will try Atlantic City next.

Just got back to Scotland from Caesers what a bad trip. I booked a suite online but when I arrived they told me I had the cheapest room and could upgrade for $160 per day. I told them I had booked the 4 expensive room on the internet but no use. I was also told that I would get $50 bonus for booking the romm and it said that on the booking form but did not get it. The check in was a rip off. The toliet was blocked and took ages to get sorted. The room was dirty and not made up correctly. The casino was not very good, they have turned most of the machines over to 1 cent, 5 cents manchines? all the idiots playing them seem to think tthis is OK but do nott realise that the casino is ripping them off. The machines have 5/6 reels and it costs over $2 to play one spin with little chance of winning. All the strip casinos are like this. We use to come to LV 5 times a year, it has lost it's glitz and is a rippoff now. We use to stay at TI but this is now for unnder 25's and the whole buffet, music, good times have gone. I fear LV has lost it's way. I for one will not be going back until something changes, going to try Reno or Atlantic City, good bye Las Vegas.

Last visit was June 21-29th, 2008. We were given a room in the North tower, North facing on the 11th floor. Mainly a view of the Main Street Station and the RR tracks. This stay was good and great price. I made the reservations in January of 2008, for 47.99 weekends, and 23.99 on weekdays. Although we did not have alot of luck, I enjoyed my stay, My husband was not happy though as there was a Super Bingo going on and two of the days we could not play until after 5PM, and then it was packed to the gills, so the odds were outragous! We did win the night before we left, by then we were pretty well broke. The room was clean, the employees were very helpful and all in all I had a great time. That is why I like to come to the Plaza!

My sister and I stayed for a week to celebrate her 50th birthday. Upon arrival check-in was quick and courteous. The room was nice and clean. No complaints there. However, when we went down to the 24-hour restaurant to eat our waitress was extremely RUDE and MOUTHY! BTW, I think it's a prerequisite to have ORANGE DYED HAIR to work there!!! We were both tired and simply asked the waitress what the special was. She hissed at us and rudely semi told us. When we asked her to clarify it she SNAPPED and yelled at us. Everyone in the restaurant turned and looked at us (2am), which made her snap at them to mind their own business. We asked her why she's so irritable and she stated, "You don't know what I've been through, etc." She left us sitting at the table for over 10 minutes w/o even getting us something to drink. The family at the table next to us went to pay for their bill and she thought they "stiffed" her for a tip and she YELLED across the floor to them that they NEED to leave her a tip!!! We just got up and left at this point. We asked to speak with the manager...not available as he went home. We then went to the front desk manager...not there...we were told there was no HOTEL manager on the property. Excuse me??? The family that I referred to above also came to the front desk to file a complaint...no luck there!! The next morning we went to the front desk to speak to the manager as we wanted to file a complaint on old RED head. We were told that we had to go back to the restaurant to file the complaint. Needless to say, we did and the manager was very gracious and apologetic. We got our breakfast comped, and the day staff was young, vibrant and very attentive. Totally different than the night crew! We filled out a 2 page complaint as well as the other family did the same earlier that morning. BTW, they had just lost $10,000.00 in their casino that night and came in for dinner and got treated like that.....

The rest of our trip/stay at the Flamingo went rather smoothly as we avoided spending ANY money in their stores, restaurants, casino, etc....we used the valet parking, which was AWESOME! Best thing that came out of our stay was the VALET parking and the house band FRIENDS! They were great!

I/we will NEVER stay at the Flamingo again!!! Watch out for the RED HEADED beasts working in the 24-hour cafe'!!!

We just spent five days in Las Vegas...it was a very eye-opening experience. We stayed two nights at Planet Hollywood which was connected with a time-share presentation. The following three nights, we moved to THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. What a difference!!!! While PH was improved over the Aladdin, it just is not THEhotel. The level of service at THEhotel is amazing. Nothing is too much to ask of the staff. You are able to gamble at Mandalay Bay, so that is not an issue. You have a choice...amazing. The suites are fabulous--so comfortable. Shopping and great restaurants are just steps away. The Cafe at THEhotel is wonderful...but only open now until 3:00 p.m. Our favorite restaurant on the grounds is House of Blues. A great bargain because you get a two-for-one breakfast coupon printed on each receipt. Great food.....great service.....and then a coupon? Unbelievable.

From now on, we'll not try different hotels/casinos.....THEhotel is it for us.

On June 23, 2008 we went to the Fremont Hotel/Casino to gamble and dine. We selected the Paradise Buffet, and were promptly seated and told to go select our meals.
Upon returning to the table, we were selecting our beverages, when the waitress told us that the diet Coke was not working and should be fixed soon. We finished dining in 30 minutes and the diet Coke was still not available.
When I asked to speak with the manager, the staff told me that he was working on the soda machine and would be right over.
We waited an additional 30 minutes and finally the manager arrived. When I expressed my unhappiness about not being informed about the diet Coke prior to paying for our meals, he snapped...."it's fixed now". And he walked away.
What lousy customer service. We were offered water, but have you ever tasted the water in Las Vegas??? Almost every household has filtered water, in some way.
We live here, we love to take out of town company to Fremont Street, but we will never go back to the Fremont Hotel/Casino.
One bad apple did spoil the whole bunch.

Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino

Date Visited: 06/08 - Good Visit
Stayed at the Nugget for three nights in June, 2008. Great place. We took advantage of an internet offer to pay for two nights with the third night free. The "$20 trick" got us a room upgrade at check-in so we got a nicer room in the North Tower than the South Tower room we paid for. The room was very nice and clean. It had nice touches like a flat screen TV, vanity table, robes, room safe, and a "real" hairdryer (not one of the usual wall mounted ones). Bathroom was large for Downtown. Bed was comfortable, but I found the pillows to be too soft.

The service was good. We had only one small problem that was addressed quickly and courteously. The room safe experienced a glitch and we could not get it to open, but maintenance came to the room within 10 minutes and fixed the problem. We had no further issues with it or any other problems with the room.

The gave us a pretty good coupon book upon check in. We made use of the two "two for one" buffet coupons; once for lunch and once for breakfast. Very nice buffet. The food was good, no long lines, and the room is nice. We did not eat in any of the other restaurants.

The casino is very nice, easy to navigate, with a good assortment of slots that were not too stingy (though not as generous as some other Downtown properties).

The pool area is gorgeous and swimming around the Tank is amazing. You can swim right up to it and see all of the sharks and fish inside. It's really unique and adds something interesting to a day spent by the pool. We also made sure to try out the water slide, which was a lot of fun. They also keep the jacuzzi open until 2:00 a.m., so it's great to take a dip before bed and was not too crowded.

All in all, we had a great time at the Golden Nugget and would certainly stay there again.

On a positive note, the food in every restaurant we visited was excellent. Even the buffet food tasted home-made. HOWEVER, they do allow smoking in their restaurants. They refill and reuse the in-room lotion and shampoo bottles. Unfortunately for the Avi, the person hired to refill those bottles apparently cannot read English. Our "lotion" bottles were clearly filled with shampoo. When we complained, we were told it was a "manufacturing error". They advertise a separate "adult pool" and the signage clearly states that no one 17 years of age or below is ever allowed in the adult pool. However, small children run, jump, splash, throw balls and scream in the "adult pool" all day long, unabated. When we complained, we were told, "It is really hard to keep them out of the adult pool". The reason it is difficult is because they make no attempt to enforce their own posted rules. Overall, it was a very, very negative experience and we will never return. We would strongly suggest that others do not visit there, also.

Flamingo Las Vegas

I am in the Flamingo hotel as I write this. We arrived shortly before noon today and were informed our rooms would not be ready until between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. We decided to go eat in at the hotel buffet. Shortly after we began eating, some other wedding guests showed up. When it became obvious that we recognized each other, the lady seating guests insisted they be seated away from us. The other wedding guests ignored the lady and seated themselves next to our table.

The manager approached us and demanded that we pay the mandatory 18% gratuity for parties of 8 or more. We had nothing to do with the situation, and we were offended by the rude and unprofessional behavior of the manager. I was tempted to leave no tip at all, but decided that would be unfair to the lady who continued to provide attentive service throughout the ordeal. We left that lady more the 20%, but we were still threatened that security would be called on us. Very bizarre. The manager also threatened to cancelled the after wedding buffet for the wedding guests to be held tomorrow! At this point, I think the buffet is still on, but I'm not really sure.

I will never stay at the Flamingo again. Of course, that isn't much of a threat since I haven't been to Las Vegas in the last forty years, and I'll probably never return even if everything was perfect. :) But I will tell the truth to anyone who asks. My experience at the Flamingo has been awful. If you are planning a wedding, stay away from the Flamingo! (At least steer clear of the on-site catering services.)

I sincerely hope my daughter's wedding comes off well tommorow. She's a great kid, and deserves a great experience. She certainly deserves better treatment than the hotel has delivered so far.

The absolutely only thing going for this dump is its location.

Most importantly, don't believe the price you reserve at. When I got in at 2AM, I was told that my non-smoking room was no longer available. If I wanted a non-smoking room, I had to upgrade to a "deluxe" for another $20 per night. My other alternative was to stay in their "capri" room, which the desk clerk recommended against. So I wound up shelling out another $130 for my stay to get a "deluxe" room smaller than any of my college dorm rooms (and not any cleaner!). The cheap price I thought I was getting got wiped out by the "upgrade." NEXT TIME I STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

Let's not even talk about finding / getting to the room. Elevators routinely took 15-20 minutes and you couldn't get in when they came because they were too crowded. Both the parking lot and the hotel must have been designed by a car thief. The more confusing they are, the easier it is for someone to steal your car!

Also, don't even think about eating the food here. Had a burger after my check-in, stopping at McDonalds would have been better quality. Made a 2nd mistake about 3 days later in going to the breakfast buffet. I thought that they couldn't be that bad for breakfast - I WAS WRONG.

So the moral of this tale - pay a few bucks more and get a hotel worth staying at. They are talking about blowing up this joint - it won't be missed.

WHATEVER YOU DO, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

Stayed at the Flamingo for two nights at the end of May 2008. We had checked out of another hotel and moved to the Flamingo which was our usual choice when staying in Vegas. Tried to check-in at 11:30 in the morning and was told the rooms were not ready yet but we could check our luggage and come back around 4:00pm. Since we had time to kill and a rental car we decided that we would go to Red Rock Canyon and also stop at Red Rock Casino which both were beautiful. We didn't get back to Flamingo until around 8:00pm and finally received our smoking room key as did the other couple that was with us. We were fortunate to have rooms right next to our friends. They went into their room and we went into ours. When we opened the room door we noticed that the room had not been cleaned at all from the previous tennents. We called the front desk and another room was assigned to us on a non-smoking floor (my girlfriend wanted a smoking room)but that was o.k.. The new assigned room had seen its better days long ago. Wallpaper peeling off the wall, carpeting that should of been replaced long ago, etc.. The casino had been painted since our last visit there 6 months ago but it was almost too bright of a pink color. The location of the Flamingo is excellent as is the pool area but other than that I don't know if I will ever stay at the Flamingo again.

Orleans Hotel and Casino

Date Visited: 05/08 - Good Visit
My girlfriend and I stayed at The Orleans for two nights during Memorial Day week. We arrived at the hotel in the middle of the afternoon and check-in was reletively quick. the room was big and what a surprise- in-room coffee. The bathroom was nicely decorated and the window that opens was a plus. The only negative about the room was with the pillows that were very thin. Hallway carpeting and walls were in very good shape. Elevators were fast. The casino was extremely large. The bars were good and bar service was o.k.. Make sure you hit happy hour at the Mexican restaurant for inexpensive food and drink. The Buffet restaurant was good for breakfast and dinner. The pool area was great but the pool bar needed more than one bartender. Staying off the strip was no big deal. The strip was a two minute car ride or you could take the shuttle bus from the hotel back and forth to the strip. I will definately stay here again.

Harrah's Las Vegas Casino Hotel

Date Visited: 06/08 - Good Visit
I stayed at this hotel June 12-15. We had room 1640 in the Carnaval tower. The rooms have been remodeled since my last visit several years ago. We arrived between 9 and 10 am and the room was ready, in fact, we were offered a choice of floors. The check-in clerk was very friendly as was most of the personal we encountered. The only exception was the seating host in the buffet on Friday morning. Our group of 9 wanted to sit together and the host tried to put us at two different tables instead of pulling two others together because she previously pinched her finger. We insisted on being seated at one and a gentleman came to help us, he was very nice. Our waitress was wonderful! The Flavors buffet is decent, no big complaints since we had coupons. Didn't use the pool or spa services. Can't beat the location of this place. The rooms do have mini-bars with sensors so don't touch anything if you don't want to pay for it. Even if you put if back you will be automatically charged. Housekeeping was fairly good, a dirty coffee cup wasn't picked up and the drains on the sink and tub were closed in the processes of cleaning so we had to adjust those but it wasn't that big of a deal. This room did have an in room safe that we made use of. The view was not great, it looked east toward Hard Rock Casino, but who goes to Vegas just to look out the window? We weren't in there that long! Gambling was okay, no big wins. We made use of the Deuce and not the monorail, no reason, just didn't do it. Overall had a great time and I would definitely stay at Harrah's again in the future.

Mandalay Bay

Date Visited: 06/08 - Good Visit
We just got married on the 10th of June 2008. We went with the Opal shores package. I had a custom bouquet made, price wasn't too shabby for the upgrade. The wedding was great the pictures were amazing. I am a model and know a good photographer when I see one. The packages for the photo upgrades range from $450 to $2500 with our package we wanted 41 photo's and ended up with 35 in our price range, a magazine, photo video, canvas painting, 2 8x10's and some great upgraded touch ups plus our for around $550 including tax. Times are slow they will work with you on prices if need be. We rented the Vista suite so we would have 1700 square feet for private reception and chose to have our lunch for our guests at the bayside buffet which I would like to add that I was not happy about at first but relationships are about compromise. The pictures did not do it justice. I thought it looked cheap online but that was not the case in person. As matter of fact our guests were disappointed that we all ate at the Rio buffet the night before rather than the bayside, they felt it was a better choice and amazing service. Clean restaraunt, gorgeous view, high ceilings and great desserts. We were under contract with the bayside for a pre arranged number of guests and when people couldn't show short notice they told us not to worry about it, they would only charge us for the guests we had there at the moment. They didn't have to do that but things like that keep me coming back. I was going to go with the Wynn originally but they were snots to me. I have no time for that behavior. My fiance and family were so impressed this is the only hotel we want to stay at until they build the City center and we may try that one next but for us we will not waste our time and money with anyone else knowing what kind of service and excellence we have gotten at Mandalay Bay. I hope you experience is as wonderful as ours.

Rio Suite Hotel and Casino

Date Visited: 06/08 - Good Visit
We stayed at the Rio Suites June 10-12. Upon check-in, I attempted to tip the clerk $20 while I asked for a complimentary room upgrade to a jacuzzi suite in the Masquerade Village Tower. The clerk offered to call Room Inventory and was not able to give me the requested room but did give me Room 1155 in the older, Ipanema Tower which was a corner room with panoramic views, floor to ceiling facing the strip north and the pool area west. The room was very clean but the coffee maker was missing from the room. Also, I miss the older, rounded unique couches that the Ipanema rooms used to have. The room was very quiet and the view was fabulous. Pool area closes very early at the Rio compared to other hotels, typically 5 p.m. which is a bummer. The one pool nearest the sandy beach was heated but the other pool was not and a third pool was closed for the duration of our stay. Pool area is chaotic and drinks at hotel bar are very expensive at $12.00 each. Still, we enjoyed this pool area twice during our stay. Rooms are a long hike from parking areas so be prepared for long walks. We did not eat at any of the restaurants as they were very expensive (Dinner buffet is $23.99 at Carnival World Buffet).

Aquarius Casino Resort

Date Visited: 06/08 - Undecided
We stayed at the Aquarius Hotel June 8-9 for 2 nights on a $19 rate promotion that we received via mail. For the $19 rate we were assigned a room in the California Tower, Room 8118 (the older, unremodeled tower). The room and bathroom were very clean. The room was very basic, no safe, but did have an old couch and chair along with a view of the pool, the river and the mountains, floor to ceiling windows. The bed was not very comfortable, though. The pool area was not very clean nor was the pool. No hot tub with pool area. The carpeting and room furniture were worn and need remodeling. Housekeeping staff was very accommodating and quickly brought up extra towels and pillows which were requested. We did not eat at any of the property's restaurants nor gamble in this casino. I did not answer a wake-up call on the 2nd morning as I got up before the call and took the phone off the hook so it would not wake the hubby. About an hour later there was a knock on the door and two security guards were checking to see if we were ok--I wonder if they have a security problem? The property itself continues to show its age and needs updating; the entrance into the casino/hotel from the parking garage is kind of seedy and there were obviously some seedy people hanging around the entrance. The property's grounds and gardens also need work; this hotel has really gone downhill during the last 8 years and it appears that the Aquarius management is not putting a lot of money into fixing things up.

Texas Station Gambling Hall and Casino

Date Visited: 06/08 - Good Visit
Station Casinos have surpassed Coast Casinos with value for your dollar. I've stayed in many Station locations, but this was my first at visit to Texas. It has a great casino, good rooms, great service, good value, and I had a great overall visit. Texas has a huge casino, similar in size and and setup to Sunset or Boulder. VP is always better at a Station. Just like any other off strip location, a car is needed to get around. Less than 10 minutes to the strip.

Casino Royale & Hotel

Date Visited: 06/08 - Good Visit
This Casino is small but a hopping place. Big party every night. The rooms was good. Obviously not the
Bellagio but the bed was comfortable, had a fridge and coffee maker as well. The location is awesome.
Mirage, Harrahs, Venetian, Imperial Palace, and Oshea's all within walking distance.. $1 Micholbs and
margaritas all the time. Also drinks that are $11 at some casino's are a low as $2.50 here. Ask for a
room on the 3rd floor toward the back of the casino. You will get a quieter room if you do. If you don't
have to stay at the upscale casino's and are just looking for a clean place to lay your head try Casino
Royale.

Flamingo Laughlin

Date Visited: 04/08
Room was fine; Clean with a full length window and view of pool and river. I would not mind staying in one of the new updated rooms but I would not pay $20 extra for it.

I like the layout of the casino with all the tables in a circle and all the machines at the other end.

I feel the buffet was over priced. Beer and wine was included in the price and so we are paying $5 more for something we don't want. If I did drink this would be an exellent way to get a good buzz-on without risking your bankroll.

This is a good property with a better location then others but has no Spa at the pool.

Monte Carlo Resort and Casino

I honestly can't imagine this hotel receiving bad reviews. The front desk made sure we had a pleasurable stay and that it was everything we had requested. Upon checking in (which did not take long at all) we were put on the 21st floor. We heard constant jack hammering noise from internal construction work going on. We immediately called the front desk and they comped us a buffet (which we used for breakfast and LOVED the food) and they moved us to another floor which was just as nice and very quiet. We are non-smokers, so found it irritating when our neighbor decided to smoke. We called front desk and security immediately took care of the problem. Those were our only 2 problems and the management and staff were on top of it and professional in the way they resolved the issues. The casino was a bit tight. Not much winning going on, but enjoyable enough that we didn't feel the need to venture elsewhere for our gambling fun. We enjoyed the pool and lazy river very much. Very relaxing and loved that we didn't have to leave our lounge chairs to get a drink. The only gripe I have about their drinks are that they are not very "alcoholic"... kind of watered down and expensive. We love Vegas. This was our first time to stay at the MC. We've already decided we will be bringing our kids next summer and enjoying the stay at MC! OH yes, the rooms are nice with thorough cleaning everyday. Very nice housekeepers. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. However, with bringing the kids next summer - we'll definitely book a suite. The walls are a little thin... but that's not managements problem. However, if you have an issue, they will take care of it. We loved it. Will definitely stay again!

Caesars Palace

Date Visited: 04/08 - Bad Visit

Worst travel experience ever had

Please be aware that even though Caesars is not in a needy country, the custodial staff finds it within their right to help themselves to your personal property when you have left the room. Not only that, but the most intricate measures are put into place to protect the hotel from any liability. I was just recently told (after 3 months of attempting to retrieve my belongings and cash) that I can go fu@k myself in almost that exact wording by their insurance company, and that Caesar's is not responsible for their staff behavior. This amongst many other problems including room reservation issues, cleanliness of the room, the worst customer service I have ever encountered, the poorest response time of any security, constant problems with room service and our key cards to name a few, will ensure I never go back again.

Las Vegas Hilton

Date Visited: 06/08 - Good Visit
The Las Vegas Hilton has become our "HOME AWAY FROM HOME". We make two trips to Vegas a year and can't imagine staying anywhere else. ... we even turned down a FREE 3 night stay with $100 free play and 2 buffets at the WYNN, as stated we can't imagine staying anywhere else. The "comfort" level is second to none.

Great dining choices for all spending levels;
Great variety of slots (constantly changing games);
Big casino, but easy navigation so you don't get lost;
Great rooms with comfy beds;
Great location with easy access to the monorail to visit strip properties
Fast moving cab line if you don't have a car
In house limo service
In house car rental
Great attentive customer service.

It's all here ... why stay anywhere else!

I only wish they would better define the lines between the classic, elite and ultra members.

Just got back and its not that its a horrible hotel, just not for us. The front desk made us feel like just a tenant. When mistakes were made they just gave us "we don't do anything for that..." Room was ok, beds left something to be desired. The pool was like a stockyard with people on top of people and the construction by the pool is a huge eye/ear sore. If you get a great deal its fine.

Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon

Visited 5-8-2008 thru 5-13-2008!! The hotel location is excellent, best on the strip. We got to the hotel @ 11 am and checked in right away. When I booked the room I asked for specific room # with a view and got the room right next door (excellent) at no extra cost. The staff was very polite and very willing to serve the customers. We had a car and the parking was great only a few steps to get the elevator to get to the casino and our rooms. The casino is very small but a little generous?? We were only steps from the Flamingo casino closer than when I stayed there.
Great trip and accommodations!! This hotel is not for everyone that likes the luxury.

Orleans Hotel and Casino

Date Visited: 05/08 - Good Visit
Loved everything at The Orleans, except the service at the casino. Trying to get a drink at the casino was like finding a needle in a haystack. When you did find a server, it took 30-35 minutes to get a drink. And finding a nice server was hard to do as well. There are a few good ones, but the majority of the servers were rude. Maybe if I dealt with the thousands of people in the casino I would be the same way. Other than that,The Orleans was very nice, clean, good food, very nice people at the front desk, and the list goes on. The shuttle was very nice as well. Dont know what we would have done without it. We would stay at The Orleans again for sure!

Ramada Express

Stayed in the West Tower being that we had our Grandson never have stayed in the adult only East Tower. Good room with the comfy bed and pillows. Hotel generous with comping rooms for low rollers like me.

Casino good. wacky promotions are working. It cost my wife $50 to generate 300 points with $300 coin in and it cost myself $100 for the same to get a wacky hat to wear so a clown could come by once in a while and pass out money coupons he never gave any to us. So that gimmick was of no value to us but smart move for the casino as always.

Lee Greenwood show was good chairs are bolted together and too small even for average built.

It looks like the human dealer days are numbered at the Tropicana Express. I am an early morning gambler. Craps table has a divider inserted cutting the table in half so one crew member runs the show. Come on guys! if you can't justify having an open craps table in the morning, or pay a full crew keep it closed. Now if I tried shooting dice against the "board" and made money we should make all the tables in all the casinos like that. Also they have the electronic large tables for Blackjack, Three Card Poker etc. These were busy leaving live dealer tables open. Video Blackjack always have worst odds then live Blackjack. I think these are getting more action because of the lower limits $1-$3 and I hate to say this but also because it seems OK for us to be RUDE AND CRUDE to the simulated dealers on the large digital screen. And I do not even drink! Hay I
