When it comes to Las Vegas everyone has their opinions about hotels, casinos and restaurants. For all sorts of gaming information we recommend that you visit this site. We are always offered free nights based on our play, this year was no different. We could only stay Tues thru Fri. this year. We were not offered any upgrades upon arrival to an unfilled hotel and when we asked for an upgrade we were told we were not elegible for one. I'm sure we can find a hotel that appreciates our loyalty. This hotel was fun at one time but with MGM's money woes they are pushing the Aria and neglecting their other properties. On the other hand the majority of the staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile for you. That's the only thing that saves this hotel. <jscotto983 -at- aol.com> - Tampa FL USA - Added 09/08/06 - [64.12.116.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/10 - Good Visit Stayed in a Celebrity Spa Suite. Very nice room and very nice spa tub. Beds and pillows were very nice. Service was very good. View was not great from our room on the 16th floor. Throughly enjoyed the pool, spa, and fitness center. Pearl was our favorite resturant at the MGM. Did not have much luck at the casino, but overall an excellent facility. Also walk to the parking garage was not as bad as we anticipated. <incaviglia29 -at- live.com> - USA - Added 08/27/10 - [76.0.68***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/10 - Bad Visit I Hated this place, when we arrived the rooms were not cleaned at all and the you woulod think that there would be more than two attendants at the front desk for check in. I had a non smoking roon and it smelled like smoke and the TV was like 15 in. The water in the shower was not hot and was luke warm. To top it all off we didnt have water the last night of our stay, I told the front desk and i was told someone would come up in the hour and nobody came. The Location is not good at all because its away from everything at the end of the strip. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU ARE IN DIRE STRAITS. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN <mclaurinemc74 -at- hotmail.com> - Pasadena CA USA - Added 08/22/10 - [71.156.36***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/10 - Undecided Stayed at the Stratosphere for two nights. My room did not have a working TV or room service menu. No big deal, maintenance promptly fixed the TV and brought me a new menu. Called room service early the first morning only to be told that the hotel no longer offered the certain breakfast items listed on the menu and that if I wanted breakfast I would have to order the expensive ($30.00) entree. That did not sit well with me. Also, I found most of the staff to be cold and unfriendly, specifically the bar staff. In particular, the bartenders at the bar closest to the main entry (where you walk into the hotel) were very curt. Everyone in our party commented on how unfriendly and rude they were. What’s more, no matter how friendly we were to them or how much we tipped them, we got poor customer service. They gave the impression that they were unhappy employees. As for the gambling, the slots were tight. Never saw anyone win anything. In all fairness the hotel room was very clean and quiet. Impressive, considering the price. Also, the shops are nicely located. If you need anything at all, food, shopping and so on, you only have to take a short escalator ride up and you have everything you need. Overall, I am undecided as to whether I would stay at the hotel again. If I ever do I will save my gambling and drinking for another casino. <flysafely -at- gmail.com> - USA - Added 08/21/10 - [71.227.136***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/10 - Good Visit Had a good stay here! Last time I was in Vegas, we stayed at the Stratosphere. This hotel has alot more charm, and was more fun! The only "complaints" I have are that it was hot in the back part of the casino, and the waitresses were not always friendly enough for me. Sure the place is old, but that's part of it's charm! How much time do you spend in your room anyway? Our room was clean and in fairly good shape.(2nd floor) The value was great, and I will return to this casino/hotel next time for sure! <zigzaggirl -at- hotmail.com> - Bethany OK USA - Added 08/20/10 - [70.241.246***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/10 I would not stay at this hotel ever again, and can only tell you to think twice before booking with any Harrah's property- My outdated room with worn out stained carpet also had a very large ugly visible stain on the ceiling in the bathroom. On the last night when I was getting ready for dinner out with friends - while sitting on the 'throne', brown water dripped down on my head and back. I looked up to see the ceiling was bulging like a balloon of water. The brown water was most likely sewage from an overflowing toilet in the room above us. I called the hotel operator who sent a plumber. The plumber said he had to move us to another room. This would have made us late for our dinner reservations with friends so I said we'd have to deal with moving us when we got back from dinner. A few hours later, we came back from dinner and I went immediately to front desk. The plumber had not notified the desk of bathroom disaster. Front desk clerk did not care about the sewage, nor the mess, nor the hassle that their hotel's negligence in maintaining their property caused us. The hotel manager would only offer us a $25 voucher for dinner, which was pointless - We had already eaten and It was close to 10pm, on our last night, we had to check out by 4am that morning to catch flight. When the bellhop moved us to a new room I told him to tell the rude front desk clerk how bad the bathroom was, the clerk said it was "no big deal". Just unbelievable rude uncaring staff. I'm left with an overwhelming dislike for this disaster of an accommodation. If your reading this - and are thinking about staying here don't! By the way - what kind of stupid hotel closes their pool at 7pm? <lhomenick -at- hotmail.com> - Winnipeg Canada - Added 08/17/10 - [24.77.223.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/10 - Good Visit casino visit only. actually won a little. played the slots over 1 hour and never saw a cocktail girl. nuff said. i went back to the nugget. i dont know about food or rooms but casino service always tells the tale. Positives: 1. Centrally located in the center of the strip within walking distance of other casinos and places to eat. 2. Good service staff: Beverage servers, majority of the time. Slot attendents, housekeeping and check in/check out. Helps to be a Diamond status player. 3.Quitetness of room and hallway. 4.In house entertainment: " Legends in Concert ", Mac King, Rita Rudner and the Dueling Piano Bar. Outside: Carnaval Court. 5. Elevators: never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. 6. Free shuttle service to other Harrah's properties every 30 minutes. 7. Monorail access. 8. Variety of games. (Never won much though).Slot machines are tight. 9. Flavor's Buffet and the Cafe. 10.Total Rewards program. I haven't had to pay for rooms in years. 11. Security. For the most part was visiable but later into evening hours seemed not as much. Negatives that I that I experienced: 1.Sat for over an hour for a waitress while playing at a slot machine, and none ever appeared. Cutting down everywhere. 2. Somehow, my Rewards points disappeared and they were never restored. 3. Beware of the Time Share hawkers, they will try to hustle you. In summary. I had a good time there, didn't win anything to speak about but no one does anymore. I will be choosing Harrah's again on my next trip to Las Vegas at the end of this month (August). <crm02 -at- yahoo.com> - Tucson AZ USA - Added 05/19/07 - [174.18.117.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/10 This was the first time that we stayed at the Orleans, we have eaten here in the past and played. We had such a good time in the past that we decided to stay here and really check the place out. The rooms are nice although I didn't like the sliding door to the bathroom. I think that the rooms are the largest in this price class in Las Vegas and well apointed. The food choices are excellent, many resturants and all with good prices. The casion is huge and many penny slot games I would guess that about 50% are penny of multi level. The staff was friendly and drink service very good. The service is good the food very good just overall a nice place to stay for a couple of days. We just got back from a couple of days at the Trop and again wonderful. We got a great rate so could not pass it up. Thge room was fine and the hotel staff was great as always. The buffet and 24 resturant are very good places to eat. The prime rib is the best I have every had, you cut it with your fork and the taste leaving you wanting more. Another good experience at the Trop. The service was excellent the rooms excellent just don'thave much lick at the slots but that is par for the course for us at any casino. We used our comps twice and enjoyed the free food. We have stayed at the Tropicana before but this time we had the upgraded rooms. The upgraded rooms are worth the extra money. We didn't stay here on this visit but we did play and eat here and we do recommend that you do too. The casino was paying out as well as the other casinos, never enough but the drink service was good and the staff friendly. We did eat at both the Galary (was Paddel Wheel) and the boiler room. The casion service is also very good and I do recommend starying eating and playing here. Once again another pleasent visit to the Aquarius. We took the fun bus from Phoenix excellent way to get there. We were in laughlin for 2 days and only briefly left the Aquarius, why it was great there. We ate all of our meals there and enjoyed each one. Larry the manager for the resturnt and buffet has a friendly staff and make eating there fun. The rooms were clean, quite and comfortable. I have previously stayed at the Luxor (3x), Paris (1x) and MGM (1x). I was very suprised when I called to inquire about rates and they offered me 4 nights comped from 7/5 to 7/9. I haven't been to Vegas in about 2 years and didn't really gamble that much on my Grazie Card when there. Nonetheless since it was my sister and Aunt on this trip I wanted a large room so that we would not be on top of each other. The Venetian did not disappoint. We arrived at the hotel around 11 AM and was able to check in right away. The clerk at the front desk was very friendly and even accepted the $20 trick to upgrade our room to a high floor with a strip view. She placed us on the 22nd floor overlooking the pool with a view of the strip, TI, Wynn and Fashion Show Mall. The room was very spacious and clean. The sectional sofa was a little worn but nothing disturbing. We called houskeeping to request additional hangers and they were received within 10 minutes. Everything was in working order. We did experience a small problem with the air, however. Upon arrival the room was nice and cool. As we unpacked we started to get a little cold and turned up the thermostat. Later when we returned to the room we lowered the thermostat but the air did not kick on. Still the next morning the air had not come on and I went to play with the thermostat to see if I get it to work to no avail. I called for service and indicated that I smelled a slight burning smell coming from the thermostat and within 5 minutes the there were 5 maintainence men at the door. They fiddled with it for a bit and got the air to kick on and we didn't have a problem the rest of the trip. Overall the hotel was great and would definitley stay here again. They staff was very friendly and responsive to requests. <randy24g -at- verizon.net> - Morris Plains NJ USA - Added 07/12/10 - [74.105.19.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/10 - Bad Visit We got reservations through LasVegas.com. Unfortunately, when we arrived to the Bellagio to pick up our tickets and enter the show, slightly late I might add (10:10 to a 10:00 show) we found that they had sold my tickets. Apparently, this is their policy. There was no mention in confirmation email about when I had to pick up my tickets. When I asked to speak to the supervisor I was disappointed to be greeted, instead with a kind introduction or a sense of empathy, a cold and combative young woman (Natalee Bishop-Griego). She confirmed that the tickets had been sold moments before, and that there was nothing she could do for us. She “consoled” us by reminding us that this was the number one selling show in Las Vegas and “…of course it’s going to sell out”. She then mentioned that she, “out of courtesy” would agree to refund our tickets and offered to book us for the next available showing: Wednesday when we were flying home the next day. It also appears that a profit was made from the last minute ticket sale since my tickets were purchased for about $260 and tickets are sold at significantly higher rates on the day of. Mrs. Bishop-Griego’s next response was to direct me to the ticket sale policy on the Bellagio web site. I purchased my tickets through Ticketmaster, and she told me that somewhere in the confirmation of the ticket purchase, was a link telling me that I had to arrive one hour before the show to retrieve my tickets. She printed it out and handed it to me. (I’ve attached my confirmation email for reference – which does not state anything about ticket pickup time) I asked her what she would be willing to do in the way of comp-ing or discounting tickets for another trip. Her response was that I had already received a discount from Ticketmaster by purchasing tickets online. I have a serious issue, not only with policy that The “O” employs of selling already paid for seats, but the manner in which Mrs. Bishop-Greigo dealt with my wife and I. We are certainly not used to being treated this way in a place where we like to gamble, enjoy ourselves, and spend our money. It deeply impacted our impression of The “O”, Cirque du Soleil, and The Bellagio. If already purchased seats are sold, and a person arrives late to retrieve their seats, I would expect that the utmost care be given to those people who have been inconvenienced – and at the very least comp-ed tickets and something to encourage them to come back. In all my efforts to contact the Bellagio management about my issue, I was met with arrogance and indifference to what happened to us. It really ruined my impression of Bellagio, and being such a world recognized hotel, they feel they can afford to have a handful of people unhappy I suppose. <timferman -at- gmail.com> - Oakland CA USA - Added 06/11/10 - [76.102.31.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/09 - Good Visit I have been here multiple times, absolutely love it. I am in the Hospitality Industry myself and know Guest Satisfaction is our key goal. Unsatisfied guests are not something I am accustomed to not only for a Guest at our Resorts but being a Guest at your Resort as well. During our stay, I was caught off guard on the morning of May 9th (Mother’s Day) around 6:30 AM when my wife awoke to water dripping on the floor in the Bar/Kitchen area. I got out of bed to see where the noise was coming from and to my surprise water was running out of the light fixtures and HVAC return grill in the ceiling. We had personal belongings including camera equipment on the bar, which obviously was damaged by the water. I contacted the front desk and relayed my findings that the bar area was flooded and the water was coming out of the ceiling fixtures. Maintenance arrived 20 minutes later to explain that something was plugged in the floor above us and that the water would be running out of the ceiling for an unknown amount of time. When housekeeping arrived it was obvious the housekeeper was not given the appropriate message on the events in our penthouse unit. The housekeeper was sent to clean up the flood unprepared using our towels from our bathrooms. While in our unit her radio was blasting with conversations as well as her cell phone, waking up our two minor boys to the circus of events. The housekeeper tried to clean up the flood as good as she could by leaving towels draped over the bar area and the floor to absorb what water the towels could hold and then left. After housekeeping left the phone rang. The caller was a supervisor named Lisa who asked me if everything was ok. I replied for being awoken at 6:30 AM and having my room flooded, I was not pleased. Lisa stated she would give me $100.00 off the room for the inconvenience. I replied I would discuss this with her upon my departure. Housekeeping came back 30 minutes later and provided my family with clean towels so that we were able to shower. At approximately 10:30 we checked out of our room in the VIP lounge. The desk clerk informed me of my room balance. I stated I wanted to speak to a manager. She contacted her manager, Lisa, that in our opinion hides behind her employees. I was told Lisa credited us $100.00 and since we were checking out the same day the flood occurred there was nothing more that would be done. I asked the clerk to call her manager again so I could discuss the challenges we had in person. The clerk called Lisa again and after a minute hung up with her. The clerk stated Lisa was now in a meeting and offered a room service credit but would not meet with me in person. I felt I was getting nowhere with Lisa or the clerk and left the area completely dumbfounded at the lack of courtesy I was shown. After leaving the VIP lounge my wife and I were approached by another employee who was standing at the front entrance. She asked if we needed assistance with anything. We asked to speak with a manager and she directed us to the front desk. A front desk manager who was assigned to our room greeted us. We explained the situation and relayed to her that we wanted to file a complaint against the treatment we endured for an inconvenience that was not at all our fault. The fact that the VIP manager was not available and did not offer to send another employee to discuss our challenges or dissatisfaction was unacceptable. The front desk manager offered to credit our account an additional $100. 00. We did accept however our main point was not about savings but rather the lack of respect by a manager and her team. Check out time was at noon, not at 6:30am. We had not planned on an early check out or having damaged personal belongings or damaged camera equipment only to be told that we basically did not matter because we were suppose to check out the same day anyhow. After leaving the resort on May 9th, we reviewed the two statements we received one of which was from the VIP Lounge and the other from the front desk. Upon reviewing we discovered we were charged for a movie we never watched or even knew about as well as a CHARGE for being inconvenienced. Lisa had not credited our account for a total of $112.00 not actually charged us. The front desk manager did credit our account accordingly as shown on the second statement we received. After realizing these errors, my wife contacted customer service only to have the representative argue that we were credited the $112.00 after someone had realized the error although this was not the event that had taken place what so ever. My wife asked to speak with a manager again only to be put on hold abruptly for nearly ten minutes. The same representative came back on the line only to tell my wife his manager was not able to help and referred her to customer relations. My wife then called customer relations and discovered the department is not open on the weekends. She left a message with our information and room number. Today is May 11th and we have yet to receive a return call about the challenges we endured. **Also forgot to mention we last power in half of our penthouse unit during the flooding event** <harleysoftail01 -at- yahoo.com> - Murrieta CA USA - Added 05/11/10 - [64.73.24***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/10 - Bad Visit This hotel is beginning to show it's age. The rooms are adequate, on the small side, no flat panel tv, bed was uncomfortable and sagged somewhat in the middle, and there were very thin walls. The elevators were not working one morning. Called and was told to use the stairs. We didn't see anyone else on the stairs. Later I found out we could have used the service elevators (which puts you in a maze of corridors). They did credit our room for the inconvenience. The casino and entrance are poorly laid out so that everyone entering or leaving the hotel and/or casino, or going through to Bally's must go down the same path. There is no Starbucks or Seattle's Best Coffee only a small Espresso stand. We ate at two restaurants that were excellent; The Steakhouse and Mon Ami (which we went to twice). But Le Cafe for breakfast was horrible. We waited for 45 minutes early one morning and then were told most of the wait staff did not arrive till after 8:30. The wait staff was very good and friendly. But there was a girl at the reception desk that had the worst attitude I've ever seen in a restaurant. We asked why we had to wait one morning when no one else was in line. She said we had to wait for a Hostess who never showed up. Then begrudgingly said we could sit right there at one of the empty tables behind her. Then she literally slammed the menus and the napkins on the table and stalked away. Also for breakfast it was expensive. There are too many nice places to stay to put up with that kind of thing. <kfontanesi -at- roadrunner.com> - Carlsbad CA USA - Added 05/10/10 - [76.176.12.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/10 - Bad Visit Upon checking in they asked me for my credit card, but said "They would not charge a fee" Upon checking out, they charged me a $7.84 energy surcharge. $3.92/night, for using electricity! We booked here for our kids Spring Break Vacation thinking that with the onsite arcade we would have plenty of things to do with the kids. We were mistaken. Upon check in we were told that a crib would cost us 20 dollars a night, almost as much as the room itself. Once in our room the horror started. My 9 year old daughter found a pair of underwear under the bed. Makes a person wonder how well the rooms are being cleaned. In the bathroom there was mold on our wall and we gambled more on whether the toilet would flush then we did in the casino. You had to hold the handle down and wait for the toilet to flush, all the while hoping that it would go down and not come back up. The games in the Fanasty Faire Midway were old and outdated, most of them were also broken. If they were not broken and taped off they ate your money. The elevator on the walkway was shut down for 2 days, making it very difficult to get around with a stroller. The room service or cleaning staff (dont know who is in charge of it) left room service/food carts in the room for 4 days before picking them up. There were beer bottle caps stuck to the ceiling all along the hallway. With 2 sets of elevators you would think that things would move fast. One set of elevators went to floor 1-18 and the other 18-29 so unless you were on floor 18 you spent a lot of time waiting. While traveling this time, we decided to stay at the Wynn Encore. We read many positive reviews and also read about your employees exemplify outstanding customer service. However, my stay at the Wynn Encore, was highly disappointing. During my stay at the Wynn Encore, Room #1822, on March 14th through March 19th, my stay was quite rocky from the on-set. From check-in to check-out I experienced numerous problems that I just cannot let go untold. When my husband and I first walked up to the Front Desk to check-in the woman at the Front Desk didn’t even say welcome to the Wynn Encore. In fact, she told us that we needed to put a $150.00 a day security deposit down for a total of $900.00 which was for the duration of our stay. We were both shocked and said for WHAT? My husband asked to speak to the Hotel Manager because we have never in our several trips to Las Vegas ever had to pay an outrageous $150.00 a day security deposit. As we waited for about 10 minutes the Lady came back and said that the Hotel Manager said we either need to put down a $300.00 cash deposit or a $150.00 deposit on a credit card. (With our economy the way it is that is absolutely ridiculous for any Hotel to be charging a $150.00 daily security deposit). My husband asked the Lady a question and she was sarcastic and snotty. The lady handed my husband two card keys and told us we could use these to get into our room and also for gambling. I think for a Five-Star Hotel the staff should be extremely professional and courteous. That night while playing some table games and slots I had accumulated over 1200 points. The next day I went over to the Player’s desk to see how the point system worked. The employee informed me that the first 100 pts I would receive a free water bottle and then after reaching 400 points I would get a free spin and would win whatever the spin landed on. I decided that I would like to go ahead and do that. She asked for my ID and Players Card and said this isn’t your Players Card. I said yes it is the front desk gave us two cards. She said why did they put both of the cards in your husband’s name? I said I have no idea and thought to myself that is strange and thought why didn’t the front desk even ask or give me a card with my name on it. The employee at he Players club desk gave me a new card with my name on it and told me that I could also use this card to get into my room, however since the card was in my husband’s name I couldn’t get the free water bottle or spin the wheel. I asked the employee to transfer the points to the new card and she said she couldn’t and that I would have to ask my husband to come to the desk to receive the water bottle and spin the wheel since the card was in his name. I let all this go and set about preparing for the next day which was my husband’s birthday. I had quite a bit planned for his birthday during the day and also an elegant dinner with a show (LE REVE) for that evening. However, little did I know that my problems had just begun? That night around 12:00 p.m. I was getting tired and I could tell my husband still wanted to stay out and celebrate his Birthday. I told my husband to have a good time and stay out with my niece and her boyfriend and that I was going to back to the Hotel. My husband walked me back to the front Hotel door and I took the elevator up to my room. I took out my key card and on several attempts my card would not work. A Bellhop happened to be walking by, so I asked him if he could call the front desk or security because my card wasn’t working. He informed me that security will be able to assist me, however he didn’t no how long before they would be able to help me. About 10 minutes later and still waiting for security I decided to call the Front Desk. Just as I was calling the Front Desk security arrived at my room and asked if this was actually my room? I said WHAT of course this is my room. The security man tried on several attempts (with my key card) and said that my card isn’t working. He asked me to wait at the door and that he needed to call the Front Desk. The security man came back and said that the Front Desk informed him that he cannot let me into the room because my name is not registered to this room. By now I am quite upset and tired and said to security that I want to speak to the Hotel Manager. Security escorted me to the Front Desk. There was only one employee “male” working the front desk and I explained to him that my key card is not working and that I want to get into my room and go to sleep. He then asked for my ID, and was reviewing the computer for information that was inputted upon our arrival. The employee looked at me and said you are not registered to this room therefore we can’t let you in because of security reasons. Again, tired and getting very upset because the Hotel Front Desk Employee is giving me the run around and won’t let me into my room. I asked to speak to the Hotel Manager. Robert “Hotel Manager” approached me and never even shook my hand or said Hello. Robert informed me that unless they can get a hold of my husband that I would not be able to get into the room. Robert also said to me that I am in Las Vegas and many men have mistresses and their wives have come to the hotel or called to ask if their husband’s were staying there. He said they cannot reveal any information in case I am the wife or perhaps the mistress. I told Robert that I am not his mistress and that my husband and I have been married for 20-years. Luckily, my husband had my cell phone and Robert called my husband and said Mr. Gaetaniello will you allow Denise Gaetaniello into the room. I was furious I said to Robert you can check us out of this Hotel and he said no problem. (Now if I am not registered into this room how could he check us out)? I was so upset that I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. Robert gave me a card key and never even apologized to me. The next day Saint Patrick’s Day I told the Slot Manager what had happened and she was shocked and appalled to even hear of such a thing that occurred. She immediately gave me the name of the General Manager “Brian Gullbrants”. The Slot Manager even called Brian and called me over to the desk to tell him what had happened. Brian informed me that he was aware of the incident and was apologetic and stated that the Front Desk will need additional training. He reassured me that he will take care of this matter and we will be compensated. We had plans that night around 5:30 p.m. to go downtown Vegas and celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day. When we arrived back at out Hotel room around 2:30 a.m. we were shocked to see a cart in our room. The cart had a bottle of warm, melted ice distilled water, warm, melted ice bottle of champagne, warm, moist chocolate strawberries and old looking vegetable’s with ranch dressing that had a coating around the top of which told me that this cart was sitting in our room for hours. I immediately went down to the Front Desk and said that this is not acceptable and that I want someone to pick up the cart. If the Hotel is going to compensate with food items then they should at the very least contact the guests to see if they are going to even be in their room. You don’t just deliver food items if the guests are out for the night. The next day my husband called the General Manager and informed him of the compensation situation and Brian told my husband that it was just a lack of communication and wanted to know what he could do to make up it up to us. My husband said that the very least we should be compensated a nice dinner for two. NO that didn’t happen either we received a bottle of Red Wine (Neither of us drink Red Wine). To me this should have been common sense. At this point it was senseless to keep going back and forth. Like I said it should have been common sense. You don’t send a cart to the room and the guests are not even in their room, nor do you send a bottle of wine. What if your guests didn’t drink alcohol? This is by means an exhaustive list of the poor customer service I encountered during our stay. This stay at Wynn Encore was costly and it is unacceptable to be treated in this manner. I hope that this is a one-time experience that I will never have to endure again. <Denise.M.Gaetaniello -at- boeing.com> - Puyallup WA USA - Added 03/31/10 - [130.76.32.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 03/10 - Good Visit Stay was excellent! The reason I chose to stay at the Excal rather than my regular home at the Monte Carlo was because of an e-mail with great rates. The Excal also did not bump up the price of a night during superbowl weekend as most all other hotels do. I was given one of the cupon books at checkin and did not use any of them during our stay. We stayed in tower 2. It was nice because we rented a car and were able to park very close to the entrance to our tower. The room was very nice. It actually surprised me. We got the Delux room with plazma TV. This was also the first time I have been in Vegas and got free internet in the room. I usually have to pay around $15 for 24 hrs. This had to save me $100 alone during our stay. Maid service was good. Bathroom was huge with a granite countertop and makeup mirror. We ate 1 day at the buffet with the all day promotion for $29. It was worth it I guess. We ate twice, but after eating so much at a buffet it is hard to go back again and again. No complaints the food was good. We are poker players, so hearing that the Excal had a big poker room was a plus. I was mostly card dead except for one session that I turned $100 into $400 in two hours playing 1-2 NL. The poker room was running a pretty cool promo. If you got a 4 of a kind or any straight flush using at least 1 card in your hand you get to spin a big money wheel and get paid out. Unfortunatly I didnt get to spin but it was fun watching people spin it. One thing that upset me was that a couple times late in the night there was not a single table going in the poker room. For that reason, I will probably go back to the Monte unless the price at the Excal is too good to pass up. Its just so nice to sit in a game through the wee hours of the morning. Didn't do much gambling at the casino besides a couple of $20's in the VP machines from time to time but it seemed like a not bad place to gamble. All in all, the price for the room along with the free internet could not be beat for a strip hotel, especially during the superbowl. I may stay again if the prices are not the best at the monte. If I wasnt a poker player I would stay here again for sure.. But I need a 3am game.. Im sure you poker players understand. <devongurniak -at- hotmail.com> - Thompson MB Canada - Added 02/19/10 - [205.200.18***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 01/10 - Bad Visit Stayed for a mini vacation 1/24 for 2 nights. Front desk was not friendly at all. I don't think it would kill anyone to crack a smile. They didn't even ask us how our stay was when we checked out. We were placed in the pyramid rooms. We discovered that my daughter's room had a leaky window when she sat in a chair under the window and found it to be soaking wet. We had 2 separate occasions in our room that involved housekeeping. The minor one was when dirty glasses were left in our room after being cleaned. The second and most serious was when housekeeping totally missed cleaning our room. After some words with them we were able to at least get some clean towels. We found the casino to be lacking. The selection of slots is bad and they are very tight. The only bright spot we found was the food court. I never thought I'd say it, but thank god for McDonald's. The staff was pleasent, however when we required assistance to locate plugins for our CPAP machines it took 2 hours before someone came to show us that they were behind the bed and access meant that the mattress and the box spring had to be moved. They then said someone would be back with extension cords but that never happened. Fortunately, our plugs just reached and we were able to put the mattress and box spring back in place ourselves. The casino is extremely dark and is a graveyard for VP players. We found it a little uncomfortable to play in but all the staff we met were there to please. The tram between Monte Carlo/Aria - Crystals - Bellagio is very convenient and a great way to move between these destinations. The only way to the strip from Aria is a long walk which is not convenient for those with disabilities or those of us advancing in age (not a problem yet). If you like walking (and I do) there are many sights to see through the whole complex without having to go outside. Be prepared to have a hefty budget for food if you are going to eat at any of the restaurants. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Aria but it is not our first choice for hotels on the strip. <gjl32 -at- shaw.ca> - USA - Added 01/24/10 - [70.65.136.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 01/10 Hard Rock is cool enough if you ask me. Ive never had a problem getting service. People who complain about not getting service are the same one who probably tip ten cents for a round of beers. And people, everything is expensive in Vegas if its not getting comped or your in some dump, not just at the Hard Rock. Stayed here many times. The rooms are sufficient for what i need (bed, shower, toilet, tv, etc.) and not far from the casino floor. The pool is is just fine if your looking for a tan and a dip in the pool. I hear everyone downing the service here, but i find it excellent. Of course i play video keno at the bar so the drinks are one after another after another after another, etc.! I love classic rock and all that, so the dealertainers are hilarious and the music is great. And if there was a vegas location olympics the Palace would win the gold medal. Right dead center in the middle of everything and next door to another favorite spot of mine, the Casino Royale. I would recommend the Imperial to anyone not looking to high flute or catch a glimpse of Britney Spears. They are very generous with comp dollars in comparison to most places as well. I only went in once in my 15 or so trips to Vegas and there is a reason for that. Me and my brother were in Vegas and decided to go there based on all the reviews of how good the payouts are and the service is so good. It was the worst. Filthiest casino ive ever been in. And Im fro Detroit so thats saying something. We zig zagged thru the bums and found some video keno machines that we wanted to play. I never say an ashtray that resembled mt. rushmore. They looked like they hadnt been emptied or wiped out in a week. Picture a mound of old butts and ashes spilling over onto the ledges then ashes all over the floor. I smoke and it was still very disgusting. Dont think we had a waitress come by in 2 hours, thats about all we could last there anyway. On top of everything, we couldnt win a thing between us. The dollar/free magaritas are the best on a hot day when youve already had 15 beers and need a change. Ive had great luck on their video keno machines, once having $200 left (with 1.5 days left!) and turned it into $1600 on one machine and it saved my trip. I find the service to be above average, probably due to the size realtive to say MGM Grand where sometimes you cant find a waitress. Anyway if youve never been to Vegas or never went into the Royale, do yourself a favor and check it out. The staff was incredibly friendly and personable - front desk, dealers, housekeeping, restaurants. I didn't feel any element of pretensiousness here like you find at some of the other upscale Vegas hotels. Casino has some solid table games including European Roulette (very hard to find). Slots were tight but there was some decent Video Poker to be found at full pay levels. Restaurants were all high quality but on the pricey side. The background to the story is my stepfather is dying from Leukemia and this was a family gathering for what we think would be our last time with him. I had family coming to visit for Christmas and booked 3 rooms at the Gold Coast all with double beds in order to accommodate everyone in our party. Well what does the hotel tell us?they don't have enough double beds.then I asked for rollaway beds and they said they cost extra and you get one per room.I explained the problem to their supervisor and he was no help. This was embarrassing to me because how are people supposed to sleep comfortably. They still would not help. Also the beds had very badly done linens with stains and there was no comforter/duvet on the beds just badly done ugly sheets. The rooms came with 2 free lunch buffets as described on the website. they only gave us 2 for 1 room and had to beg for them to give us 2 more and never mind the first room they gave us nothing. Well when family tried to use the free lunch buffet they were told the free tickets did not apply to Dec 25 ...hello! we checked in on Dec 24 thru the 26th.what a joke!! We had a fantastic time at this ultra child friendly hotel. I was warned by friends who had previously travelled to Vegas that Circus Circus had seen better days. And yes it has. But it offers the family on a budget excellent value and loads to do. Check-in was easy. The Adventuredome indoor theme park is good value, if somewhat lacking in the latest thrill rides. And the free to watch circus has a range of excellent acts to keep the kids (and mum and dad) happy. The buffet is also very good value and on a par with those which charge up to 50% more, including the Luxor. Circus Circus is at the unfashionable end of the strip, but is very handy for the Stratosphere (the rides at the top of which are a must-do. Also recommended is Slots-A-Fun, a small and cosy casino which is right outside Circus Circus and which does good value happy hour drinks. The room was spacious and clean. The only minor criticism was the bathroom, which was rather sscruffy. The only problem we had was with a cleaner who shouted at my daughter in a foreign language in the rest room of the buffet. After complaining, we were offered a free ticket for the following night. I would wholeheartedly recommend Circus Circus to all families who are looking to do Las Vegas on a budget. People without children on a budget should stay over the road at The Riviera. <joannebrindley0609 -at- yahoo.co.uk> - England - Added 01/03/10 - [90.205.13.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 03/05 - Good Visit I stayed here in 1/05 and again in 3/05. In January, our visit coincided with a huge Verizon convention so we were upgraded to Honeymoon Suites which were awesome. I've read that Mandalay Bay has the best bathrooms on the strip and I believe it. Excellent soaking tub. The room itself was large with a so-so view(westward, so we saw THE Hotel and the Orleans). I was surprised to find several $5 Blackjack tables during the morning hours which is when I do my gambling(of course they were gone by the late afternoon). In my opinion the Sportsbook here is the best on the strip. No complaints and an upgrade=a favorable visit. The second visit in March was also good. The Desk Clerk asked if I would like to try one of the House of Blues rooms. If you are asked, say yes. There is no extra charge and the rooms are way up on the 34th floor. I haven't seen a regular room yet but I assume that the House of Blues floor is like all of the others except that the rooms are decorated differently. I don't know how to describe them but if you see them, you'll say "Yep, thats the House of Blues alright". They told me it was a partial strip view and it was but it was mostly a great view of McCarren field which I really dug. Once again, they did have two or so $5 blackjack tables in the morning hours. Once again, no complaints. Really enjoyed myself. From now on, when I go to Vegas, Mandalay Bay will be my first choice hotel(use to be Luxor. Not a knock on them, still like the joint) if I can afford the rates. When I went in January it was two nights at 139 and 149. In March it was 3 nights at 119. I reckon thats not too bad considering the quality. Of course, on the more expensive nights, you can count me out. 1/08 spent 2 nights at THE hotel which was the nicest room I have ever stayed in. It is isolated from the rest of the resort but I guess that's part of the plan. 2 room suite, bath and a half,"wet bar",2 big tvs,Small screen tv in the john, big comfortable bed and big sitting area couch. When I stayed here it was $169 a night for 2 nights and this was as cheap as it ever got. In 2 weeks I will be staying there for $75 a night for 3 nights. I know the recession has hit room rates in Vegas but $75 a night at this place is obscenely cheap by anybody's standards. The Wynn,Bellagio and the Venetian haven't come down nearly as much as THE hotel and the rooms here are nicer than either Bellagio or Venetian (haven't stayed at the Wynn). Anyone else remember when Mandalay Bay never went below $109 for a standard room(now available for $65 or so)? Didn't play the slots but did play Blackjack with the stupid 6-5 and restricted doubling rules. Bottom line, I would absolutely stay here again for the right price. Its probably not as bad a joint as you are thinking from some of the reviews I'm reading here. Stayed here again 9/09. The place has gotten obscenely cheap. I have email offers for $20 a night and it is rarely over $40 all year. They have remodeled most of the rooms and they are nicer.
