Lines were long. Being from New England, we expected real lobster tails, not rock lobster. We were seated at a table that was open to the casino. The noise was so loud we could not hear each other and asked to be moved. They were very accommodating. Our server was outstanding. The variety of non-seafood items was minimal. The buffet itself could have been better organized. Problem was once through the line, food was mostly cold.

This is one of the best seafood buffets in Vegas. The Lobster was fanstasic. A little messy to eat as it was quite wet. But plenty of lobster to eat.

This was a HUGE disapointment. At $70.00 for 2 people, this was a huge rip off. Lobster? What a joke!! Some brown, small, boiled to death lobsters that looked more like crawfish. We looked forward to the seafood buffet at the RIO, but it was just a glorified $10 local type all you can eat. I will never step foot in the Rio again.

My wife and I have made a point to eat at the seafood buffet on every trip to vegas. This is the last time!!, the food was terrible, lobster was soggy and had NO taste as did the crab. The smell of fresh thawed out seafood was so strong it almost took mybreath away, (that was a first) The only good thing was the fresh fruit and the deserts. After 5 years of patronage we will not return

As this buffet is pricey, it is by far the best seafood buffet around. You can get just about anything that you desire on this enormous buffet. My husband and I eat there every year that we come. Yes, sometimes the lobster is a little on the dry side but you have to realize HOW MUCH they have to cook and put out. WOW! The crablegs are to die for. Our service has never been less than perfect and we have visited 5 times. They are always on top of your drinks and emptying your "trash". We are always "seafood bloated" when we leave and would come back every night if it wasn't for the $35pp price tag.

What used to be terrific has become the definition of mediocrity. They have cut corners and turned it into another Harrh's cheap, shitty presentation.

We used to love this buffet and would bring everyone new to Vegas to the Rio. It seems to be going down hill. On our next trip, we will not return.
For the price, the buffet does not meet expectations. The food is average. The service wasn't great. The last time we were there, the restaurant ran out of soda. Soda? Who runs out of soda?

We may try it again in a couple of years but we will be taking a break from the Rio Seafood Buffet.

For our wedding anniversary (Oct 5th) we choose a buffet. I know ... buffet? But at $39.95 a person plus all the hoopla, we thought this would be a treat as far as an outstanding BUFFET experience should go. We were wrong.

Listen folks, I know buffets and I know Vegas. This buffet is designed primarily for the one-time tourist. The Rio knows it has a "captured audience" because of location (far from the Strip) and it being a large hotel with a gazillion hungry guests. And they've spared all expenses on what is promoted as a "seafood experience".

Lobster: Rock lobster tails, ranging in size of 2-4". Meaty, juicy. But since they are boiled, they lack any flavor at all. We love lobster and this was a shame. You will not get your moneys worth if you think "I'll just eat lobster" because you'll be disappointed.

Shrimp: Huge prawns, full body. I spit it out. A mushey substance replaced the firmness that a shrimp tail is famous for.

Shrimp: Peel and eat. At $39.95, do you really want to peel your own shrimp?

Crab cakes: Everything but the crab. Nice breading though if you like seasoned dough.

Stuffed scallops: I spit it out.

Soup: Clam Choulder. No other soup. A thick base of flour with little flavor.

Oysters; raw: You can't ruin a good thing. I had 20 to make up for the lobster mentality of getting my money's worth.

Sushi: Limited to a half a dozen type. Fair at best. Skip it. Try your ready made super market kind. It's better. I promise.

Salad bar: Let me repeat ... Salad bar? How much stuff can you fit in three feet? Well, they didn't even do that!

Fish: No flavor. Any type. How can you ruin Sea Bass? Yes, the chefs at the Village Seafood Buffet can! (The salmon was decent ... so three points.)

Ribs: Credit goes out to the BBQ pork ribs! Decent. But I'm at a seafood buffet.

Prime rib: I didn't try it. Did I mention I was at a seafood buffet?

And finally, the atmosphere. Cattle call! Bumping and shoving. Tight quarters doesn't make for a rememberable experience ... OK, not a good one though.

I know ... It can't be THAT bad. Yes, it can. I didn't listen to the other "smart" comments when I should have. Anyone who says they like this buffet have never been to a buffet outside of $3.95, or are on the payroll. Unless it's some hicks from the sticks who figure if you can chew it, it must be good. "Hey Ma! Look at all dem shrimp! It's good to be an American!" Here sonny, take my shrimp."

Value: At $6.95, I'd still skip it. At a comp, I'd go back there if I didn't have $6.95 for another buffet.

Good buffets: Yes, we do recognize good food when we find it!
Cravings. First class. Pride in cooking. A real treat.
Aladin. A favorite. Very good prime rib. Alaskan King crab legs. Desserts are outstanding.

I found the buffet to be vastly overpriced. They advertise that they serve lobster at the buffet but really what passed for lobster was really a large crawfish type animal. When cooked it was brown instead of red as one would expect for lobster.
Aside from this the buffet was OK.

You have to look for the buffet..hidden in the corner of the Carnival Court. The selection is great for seafood lovers..like my hubby. Service was attentive. Only thing I didnt like was people hogging up all the lobster tails and all the good stuff on one plate and taking it to the table to share. It's a buffet..you can get up and serve yourself more. I'd go back.

As always we really like the seafood buffet. It does cost quite a lot but with the coupon to save $10.00....that really helps. My problem is, I will be there again in September, right after Labor Day and I would like to find another coupon. I emailed Rio and they told me they don't know if they are going to offer one again....I sure hope so.

WAY OVERPRICED COMPARED TO SPICE MARKET AS CRAB LEGS ARE NOT SPLIT OPEN & SHRIMP NEEEDS TO BE PEELED. PRIME RIB AS TOUGH AS LEATHER.

Good Meal. All you can eat shrimp, crab, crab claws, scallops, sushi, and lobster tails. I never saw a lobster tail so small, but they were sweet and tasty. Deserts good too. 35 bucks, but you are on vacation, so enjoy.

Good seafood. Usually seafood buffets have stale food, but this was mostly fresh. My son-in-law loved all the lobster and he got to try sushi. I was disappointed that I could not find any cole slaw or hushpuppies, but the food that I did get was prepared very well. Desserts were very good. A little pricey for my blood, but it was all comped on my Diamond Card, so what the heck?
Probably won't go back here very often. Some of the other places at the Rio are much better, like the Toscan Deli and Antonio's.

I had checked the reviews about thie buffet before going, and of course had to see for myself. So being that this was the first time I have been to this buffet, my sister and I were glad that we had the $10 off coupon last week when we went. I do think this buffet is a bit pricey for what it is, but we did enjoy the meal very much! It was very clean, the servers we had were very very nice and accomodating, always checking to make sure we were ok, and emptying the dirty plates. Yes the lobster tails were very small, but the flavor was Awesome!! The crablegs were the sweetest I have had in a long time. Then dessert left us so full you could have rolled us out of there.. ha ha! When we go to Vegas again next year, we will definately going back!

Both me and my girlfriend are seafood lovers and with so much hype about this being the top seafood buffet, it was first on our list to go to in Vegas. But boy were we both highly dissappointed (I thought previous negative reviews were just complainers before I got there, but now I couldn't agree with them more). Even with a $10 off coupon, it was still overpriced! Lobsters?...what lobsters?...they can be more accurately described as dethawed, mushy, tasteless, mini-me shellfish (I've had shrimp bigger than them!). Raw oysters could have been fresher, sushi rice was hard, cooked fish was overcooked, didn't even want to touch the anorexic looking crab legs, and basically all other seafood was deep fried probably to mask the fact that it was not fresh anymore (most of all if you want fish n chips, etc. save half your money and go somewhere else for it). The only things I did enjoy were the salmon/tuna sashimi and snow crab claws. As for other food, it was just standard buffet things and nothing outstanding. My recommendation is to not go there, save your money and instead head to Bellagio's buffet where everything tasted waaaay better!

The price has gone up to $35.95 but with the $10.00 off coupon offered this is well worth a trip. This was the best Seafood buffet i have ever had. the lobster was the tiny slippertail variety so you need to eat a whole plate full. so i did!! everything was fresh and tastey. service was good. i will return on my next vegas visit.

I loved this buffet. There were a lot of choices, although I ate a lot of crab and sushi... because it was YUMMY! I did think it was a bit pricey but definately worth the money. I'm going to Vegas again in July and I will definately be going back to this buffet. Dessert was great too.

This has to be one of the worse seafood buffets I've ever been to. With all the hype on this place, I was expecting the seafood to be fresh, it wasn't. Most of it was deep fried and over cooked. The oysters and clams were not properly cleaned. They were very gritty and sandy. Plus most of the seafood you find there you can find at most other buffets for less then half the cost.

Where do you get the $10 coupon ?

Only thing I hate is the long line ... they should let us come early and get a number or reservation.

About the food:
Only go here is you want lobster. For any other stuff you may as well go to cheaper places. why eat shrimp, beef, chicken or fruits if you get that @ any $10 buffet. I ate so much lobster that I was about to throw up LOL .. but it was all good... too bad is was SO packed this 4 of july, that I couln't go again.

We ate here for lunch and were amazed at the huge selection. There were so many stations it took multiple trips to get to them all and everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the sushi and other japanese and chinese selections. Wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. We will definietly return next trip.
