Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden        Month Visited: 12/09 - Bad The lighted Castus Garden self tour was very nice and highly recommended for children and all. The factory tour was pathethic, others mentioned free samples and I sure didn't see any. Sorry but I priced some items and they were horrendous especially in this local economy. Who buys $3.95 greeting cards, $4 candy suckers etc. A little candy making activity was going on but that was minimal. We then entered a M&M Store that had soiled M&M pillows for $18.95, M&M men's briefs for $18.95 and other ridiuculously priced chotskies that would be in the next throwaway bag for equally horrendous prices. Truly amazing that probably the biggest privately owned co in America would not do some marketing research. If I were the owners and I saw the pathetic merchandise and prices, I would be embarrassed. Money isn't a problem for me, but I feel empathy for those less fortunate that are subjected to this type of country fair merchandise for prices that remind one of merchandise offered to captive buyers at airports. Actually it isn't that high quality. Sad, very sad.

Laughable...they spend allot of money with the tour bus companies I'm sure. If you wanna go to M&M's world do it on the strip...it's much more worth your time. Cactus garden was cool though.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden        Month Visited: 12/08 - Undecided Day we showed up there was no candy production. You were directed through the corridor to the showroom where you had your choice of numerous, beautiful, grossly overpriced chocolate creations. A box of 4 cost us $7.50 only because my wife insisted. I would have walked right out. The cactus garden outside the main building was quite lovely and interesting. Even with the tour I think kids would be bored here and would find the M&M store on the strip much more to their liking. I wouldn't likely return here.

You walk into a store with over-priced chocolates, walk through a hallway, and then out into an m&m store and then you're back outside. There were only three workers we saw there, and not much action. As for the cactus garden... we saw a pink cactus and that's about all I can remember.

A 1 room assembly line is NOT a factory! Lots of space for a store though! Then they gave us a white macadamia nut sample, but had NON FOR SALE!

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden        Month Visited: 10/03 - Good I visited with my 3 year old son. We arrived at 9:30 a.m., and had the place virtually to ourselves. Although the factory tour portion was not extensive, the workers were extremely pleasant, and very generous with the samples. High marks for access for the little ones to see the goings on. After we exited the candy shop, the Cactus Garden was first rate, both in variety, and in labeling all the desert plants and trees. A great way for parents and kids to enjoy an hour.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden        Month Visited: 08/03 Finally made it to Ethel M this year. Although the self-guided 'tour' is interesting, the main highlights are the Cactus Garden and the chocolate tasting. Unquestionably the best chocolate I have ever had! And you get to choose your sample as well. The Cactus Garden is a real gem. Lots of wildlife in addition to the cacti. You can take all the time you want. A nice change from the usual Vegas fare.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden        Month Visited: 08/03 - Good This attaction is nice and a slower pace from the rest of Las Vegas. The factory tour is easy going and interesting. At the end of the self guided tour is a wounderful taste of chocolate. Wasn't forced into buying anything. In fact we were offered as much as we wanted, for tasting. The cactus portion of the tour was interesting. Took our time going around and seeing the different kinds of cactus there were. Found the best time to go out there is when it just opens around 8:30am. No major crowds from the tour buses. Had the place to ourselves. If you have the time, and want to enjoy some quiet time from the sounds of the casinos, come to this place for a hour or two.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden        Month Visited: 08/02 - Good We came for the chocolate, stayed for the Cactus Garden. The ongoing exhibit of the plant's water reclamation is extraordinary! The self-tour's information is very well-presented and clear, and the recreated riparian habitat that shows how "The Meadows" appeared 150 years ago is surprising. Again, this is a very non-Vegas attraction and a hidden gem.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden              Month Visited: 08/02 - Undecided The cactus garden is fantastic--you'll rarely see a collection like this anywhere else. The factory tour was a little disappointing because we arrived as they were packing up for the day (employees leave at 3:30pm, so come in the mornings if you want to see things hopping). It's not anything like the Hershey factory in Pennsylvania, but the free samples were delicious. It's really more of a store than a tour.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden        Month Visited: 05/02 - Good It would have been more enjoyable had we gotten there during the work day when there was some activity to be seen but we walked thru anyway and were treated to the free samples. Hint, if you're with a large group, you can keep going back to the end of the line for more. The cactus garden was really something. Extremely well maintained and awesomely large. I had no idea there were so many kinks of cacti.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden        Month Visited: 09/01 - Good Most people get this as a bonus to a bus tour to Hoover Dam or any other bus tour. It's a nice, self guided tour. They also have an extensive cactus garden that's nice to walk through. The best part is the free sample at the end of the tour.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden              Month Visited: 02/01 - Undecided Only come here if you have interest in the Cactus Garden -- yes, the garden is simply fantastic. Very well maintained and quite a unique display of cacti that you wont find anywhere else! Chocolate tour? Umm that's a completely different story. The chocolate "tour" consists of walking through a 20 foot walkway with little production going on and watching looping video streams. You exit to an Ethel M shop and are strongarmed to "buy up" some chocolate memories. No thanks!
